  1. I think I will take the 5th on this one as any post may incriminate me. or Since I have not caught a lot of fish under an indicator, maybe I don't fit in that class yet. Why, I may have time to be reformed so that I am never included in that class of flyfishermen. Oh wait, am I starting a fist fight, nah BTW, I did read the article, and I agree it was a good article.
  2. Thanks Gary BTW, do you think I should move on or stay with the Minolta lenses? The dollar wise, penny foolish side of the argument
  3. Terry I spent a fortune on golf clubs. THEN, dah, I got a lesson, and another, and, well, you get the point. Last year I went to a golf school for a week. Heaven with a club.
  4. red wigglers
  5. I have looked at the Canon OES. Expensive, and none of my autofocus lens fit. SOme friends of mine have one and they love theirs. I looked at the Dimage. But the only place you can find one is eBay. And they are not cheap. Plus, I want soemthing with all of the new features. Now that is a neat little camera. Looks to be under $300 at circuit city
  6. AK; My wife said "It had to be his job! No way would anyone leave Alaska if they did not have too" Welcome to the lower 48
  7. If it's about ratings and what the best game would be, it HAS to be Ohio State v Michigan. 3 points in OHIO is a tie! On a neutral site this is great game. No home cooking, nuetral or as nuetral as it gets, crowd. How many people were at the first game? The bands didn't even get tickets. Ohio v Florida won't even be a game. The ratings will be lower than the final episode of "Smith". And, yes, if Michigan wins all hell will break loose. Won't that be great! The BSC at it's finest.
  8. That's why the MDC makes their own "slot" rulers for us to use. None of us can accurately judge measurements without it
  9. YO AK Welcome to the forum. I have found that there is no such thing as asking to many questions, as long as you don't mind all of the answers. You will love this site. Why are you moving from such a beautiful place? I would love to live in Alaska. Anyway, enjoy the site.
  10. So, I guess women take it up so that they can "play" with a long rod?????????
  11. Russ Your PM was right on. I will wait for the video, and go from there. I need to start looking at the dates before I reply to posts. I had no idea this was so old.
  12. I am thinking about putting my 35mm cameras into moth balls and get a digital SLR. I have a lot of lenses that fit my two Minolta Maxxum cameras. I am looking for a digital that will allow me to use the lenses that I have. Now that Minolta has bailed on me, any idea what my options are with a non minolta camera. I understand Sony bought out Minolta's camera division. Will my lenses work on their new cameras? I do not want to buy an old Minolta digital camera. Maybe I am being penny wise and dollar foolish. If so, let me know. Thanks LMW
  13. Weather was bad sales were down Did not get to fish at all Son got sick, (MENEGITIS) and is in the hspital, (but he is ok) WEEK IS OVER TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Brian I read a post yesterday that talked about the position of the rod tip in correlation to the water when you begin the cast. (Low and close to the water) It talked about the loop. Do you swing the rod out to form a "D" or do you take it straight back so that the loop looks like an "S". I realize my letters are not the right way to put it, but I couldn't think of a better way without a picture. One more thing. Should I be using a WF line to fish at Taney, or does it really matter for a new caster?
  15. Hey Doc, welcome to the board. Great guys and information as well.

    Chili Recipe's

Ok Guys, it's not chili, but it is a great way to use any leftover chili that you have. This is a mexican dip that I make for the holidays. I make it to fit in a 6 quart crock pot. It is best served hot with Fritos Scoops. Fill the crock pot about half way with chili. Turn it on and start getting it hot. In a sauce pan combine 2 medium cans of refried beans with peppers, 2 bricks of cream cheese, one can of Ragu Cheese sauce. Stir until cream cheese is melted and all of the contents are thoroughly mixed. Add additional jalepenos to taste. Add mixture to crock pot. Add one large jar of Pace or Old Elpaso Picante Sauce. You decide how hot. Add one onion, and one green pepper, finely chopped Let it cook for about 2 hours. Serve hot in small bowls. Sprinkle shredded taco cheese over the individual bowls.
  17. This has NOT been a good week. Right after the power came on my oldest son got sick. Bad sick. Made quick run to the Emergency room, only 12 hours, and found out he had menegitis. darn that was scary. I will be glad when this week is over. He's stuck in the hospital all weekend, but they caught it in time.
  18. Norm was a winner, the teams just didn't always know it.
  19. Maybe it was love at first bite
  20. Shortly after I posted last night at 10 something, talking about Midway losing their power, the ice storm hit and we lost power. We got about 3/4 of an inch of ice, and 1 or 2 inches of snow. The ice was a killer. Most of the trees around us are damaged. My power was out for about 16 hours. Just came back on
  21. Three of the restaurants I run are in Virginia Beach, Virginia. When they forcast snow, everything closes. The stories about Virginia drivers and Texas drivers are probably very similar. They are great with hurricanes and floods, but when it comes to snow and ice, forget it. I-64 turns into the largest demolitian derby on Earth. I do like Virginia. Waking up at a brachfront hotel in the winter, with the ocean breeze blowing in is something that everyone should experience. Kind of like fishing for trout in December. But if it looks like snow I am outta there.
  22. Sounds like a great way to start off the year
  23. I heard it earlier but did not see it. I guess I did not watch long enough. It is a different camera now. It is moving and zooming in on animals in the background.
  24. I live in a lake community 45 minutes outside of St Louis. There are a lot of very small towns around us. On such town, Midway, has one power station. (We have two). Their main transformer exploded about an hour ago. It lit up the sky with a blue and yellow flame. The town is about 4 miles from here. My son works at the only grocery store we have, and he says there is still a fire over there. The whole town is without power. I hope they have fireplaces. Otherwise it will be a long night.
  25. Just got an email from a friend in Texas. It is snowing in Texas. I have been there. It is so hot. I think hell just froze over
