Anytime is a good time on the North Fork really. But especially after a nice rain brings the river up and puts a little color to it. It's low and clear right now but it still fished pretty good this past weekend. Mixed bag of rainbows and browns up to 19" and a couple of smallmouths thrown in to boot. Good luck!
Sorry I guess it cut off the rest.
Lost two other fish that would have easily been the two largest I have ever caught out of this river--in 30 years of fishing it. Previous to this trip I had three >20" fish from the north fork in the same 30 year period. Doubling that number gin one day felt ridiculously good! I landed a total of 14 trout Friday with most of the others being the 10-14" variety. I n. don't know what was up with all the quality fish but sometimes you just go with it and don't ask why. Hot flies were #6 chunky Chernobyl with prince dropper in morning and evening. But the big fish all came on a beefed up size 10 pheasant tail with two tungsten beads and a caddis green ice dub hotspot.
