  1. Had stitches removed on the water 10:45 and fished mid-lake. Caught 7 walleyes, but only two keepers one 19 and one 20. Also 4 cats and 3 bluegills. I thought it would be better with overcast and a slight wind, but not. Covered water from 20 to 35 ft. Water temp 76.5. BB with with silver floats and spinners w/ crawlers. Caught most fish in 33 to 35 ft of water. Left lake at 3:00. I'm pleased to see the short walleyes. The 20 inch had some cuts on it. Maybe gar. All spit crawfish his time and last time all over the boat.
  2. Short run PC to rocky branch. Long run to dam from PC. Only fished one day down around PC this year. Yes a lot of gas.
  3. Wife and I are going out tomorrow if wx is good. Will try same places to see if the are still there, if not the search will be on. Hopefully I'll be able to report success or eat crow and get an earfull from the queen.
  4. All my years here I have caught very few from mid oct to next yr when the water starts to get near 50 degrees. And then it was spooning which I like except for walleye if you get a short one. They do not do well coming up from deep water. I hate to see their badder in their mouth. The last two years have been different so they might go shallow this fall, which would be nice. I just never hold my breath on catching them, it seems every time out, I learn something different. The walleyes yesterday were caught on point/flat. If you looked to the shore it appeared there was no point but on the map/gps you could see the shallow area coming out under the surface of the water. After the first successful stop I just looked for and fished those type of areas. Will they be there today, maybe but I never count on it. The thing I have found out on this lake if you catch a couple spend a little time and and determine why, then look for them and fish for them the same way. But maybe tomorrow it will be different. That's why it's called fishin. I think to much juice on earlier posts.
  5. They will not be shallower this year. They go where u don't know where. This time of year I huntr.

  7. I have a 7" and 8" at the dash and bow. I use the 7's for nav and the 8's for DS/SS and 2d. It makes It easy on old eyes.
  8. PM me RPS we need to get together as we can now fish the week ends.
  9. This is the old girl
  10. I was fishing between Coppermine and RB. If you see the Triton stop by.
  11. After implants last Tuesday it was nice to get out for a little pain relieve. No limit but 3 keepers. An 18, 20 and a 21. Lost 4 at the boat. One was dumb forgot to snap the swivel on the BB. Many cats but no bass or bluegills. All 33 ft deep.
  12. I'm tired of bass guys who accidentally catch walleyes and keep and eat them. What's the difference whether it's bass or walleyes. Bass fisherman need to get off their high horses. Buy the way I have never eaten a bass.
  13. Good idea not only dinner, it also allows you to get a bottle of fine wine
  14. Not only dinner, but extra money for the wine?

    Gar

Do people eat gar? If so how do you clean and cook them. Are they any good?
  20. Good day with the queen. 10 walleyes with 6 keepers. An 18 1/2, 19 1/2, 20, two 22" and a 24". Also 8 whiskers, 3 nice bass and maybe 12 2 " bluegills. Water 86.5 or 89.5. Fished 30-35 ft water, BB with crawlers. Points next to deep water from 8 to noon. It sure got hot. Lucky today all fish one first two points
  21. I believe it's 4 walleyes over 18"
  22. I do know of one individual that uses leeches. You can order them by the pound. I used to use them all the time up north. I like them because bluegills can't strip the hook of your bait, but to much trouble to keep and feed.
  23. I also have DS/SS. Love it
  24. I agree with electronics. I have an HDS 8 and 7 on the dash and on the bow. Use 7's for navigation and backups
  25. Everyone can have a couple nice days. Knee cleaned meniscus repaired. Little pain a little therapy and back in the Triton drowning night crawlers see you on the water soon. Maybe, I'll be in stealth mode
