  1. Strange, they generally dump it into BS quick. The only thing I can think of is that they believe BS will fill without TR, but it seems far fetched.
  2. Their watersheds got hit hard. I would expect the Niangua to be very high. I know its upper watershed got several inches. Its reported to be 10 feet high and rising, literally, at Windyville. The spring is at 3.5 feet, which is very high.
  3. No I didn't jump to conclusions, I simply quoted what I've read. I also have no idea if Glen Beck has addressed this or not. " Despite both a face-to-face meeting between representatives of recreational anglers and the Council on Environmental Quality (the lead federal agency for the task force), and a follow-up with written comments in the initial phase of the process, none of the comments from the recreational community were incorporated in the interim report. And there doesn't appear to be any intention of doing so. As an angler, that should be both frustrating and alarming." FULL ARTICLE
  4. Yea, right above 32. I thought it was closed?
  5. I'm selling my Renzetti vise. I don't tie that much anymore and I've always done 95% of it on my Regal, so i'm keeping it. The vise is as new. I'm asking $125 plus postage.
  6. The lower is shorter, about 2 miles shorter. If you have to haul out on Sunday to return home it would put you out quicker and at I-44. As for pools I don't think there is much difference, but I've never really paid that much attention. The pool at Barlow Ford can be a good one this time of the year. I hope your trip isn't until next weekend, this one is probably out of the question.
  7. The big beef, as I understand it, isn't the concept, but the the fact that the committee will not let sport fishermen have any input. People can say what they want, but if that's true its certainly not the way its normally done in this country. A comment was made that its simply big business complaining, but if Shimano and the others aren't selling reels, its probably because we aren't fishing much.
  8. I think you fellows might be reading it wrong. The concerns I've been reading about don't concern Obama's appointment of the Interagency ocean policy task force, but the way the task force seems to be approaching the task.
  9. The police force must have been bored that day Where did he lock you up, in the bathroom?
  10. It is illegal to keep them, but some do and finding an agent can be tough.
  11. Its probably wise that you replaced it, replacing the bearing the vibration destroyed would have been much more expensive.
  12. because of today's weather and tomorrows prediction, I would expect the lake to go into the flood pool which probably predicts a constant release for a time. I believe they also release a lot when the long term forecast is wet in order to maintain the maximum flood pool.
  13. Both seem to be about equal. It is nice to end at the "Hills" though. For a weekend I would do both. Its about time for the better fish to start moving in to deep water.
  14. I wasn't questioning the value of the Davy knot for fly fishing, but commenting on creek waders comment concerning braid. Braid is particular when it comes to knots. The Knot wars concluded that the Fishing Fool knot was the best for all three lines, braid mono and fluorocarbon. I've started using it for my baitcasting and it has performed well so far. I like a leader with braid for one reason, to avoid having to cut the braid.
  15. The Palomar is a good Braid knot, among 2 or 3 others. If you use a mono or fluorocarbon hybrid leader you won't have to leave yards of braid in the lake.
  16. Especially the Pointers and X-Raps.
  17. Max start at the 64 access. Don't forget your trout stamp.
  18. Gavin beat me to it, definitely would favor Bryant Creek. I haven't fished it a lot, but I've never seen anyone targeting Smallies from a watercraft.
  19. I'm having trouble placing the bridge, but it seems familiar. The water looks like the Osage Fork, but could be the Gasconade?
  20. You might consider Roubidoux creek, I don't think it gets a lot of attention.
  21. My son has a couple of these, and he likes them real well. I think Curado's are great, I have four of them, but like Ham says, I don't think their spinning reels live up to their reputation.
  22. It is very good. Its also good made with a 12oz can of Ginger ale. I like to add raisins or dried cranberrys, just be sure and soak them in some hot water before adding to the batter.
  23. Look at the Johnny Morris Signature.
  24. I believe the flood pushed the Whites farther up the creeks to spawn, and that put them of of reach for most fisherman. It also caused them to spawn far enough away from the lake that their eggs didn't get washed in to still waters.
