  1. Yeah it was a dandy. That situation is always tough, and my most coaches won't attempt a long field goal like that. Most of the team on the field are lineman and slower than dirt.
  2. Well further research show it probably was Ramey's. It appears that Price Cutter, Ramey's and Smitty's are all the same company. Lebanon has changed so much since I lived in the Bennett area and worked there little is familiar, I think?
  3. Given the fact we don't know the NYD match ups, it might be better! The LSU/AR and OR/OSU were both well worth watching if you like college football. I didn't watch the Fresno game, but it fell into that category also. The two big ones today have the same potential. I'm really looking forward to the AL/AU game. I have no favorite and I think there are a lot of unanswered questions between the 2 teams. I'll be glad to get the Mizzou game over, but I'm always uneasy when two teams meet and one brings nothing but bragging rights and the ability to beat the other without it really being an upset, while the other brings their season. I know many will say that irregardless Mizzou will have a great season, but while that's true you don't get where they are at very often and you want to make the most of it now. By the way, did i ever tell y'all all I absolutely hate the tie breaker and always have? A tie is meaningful, a short game means nothing, absolutely nothing in the sense of competition.
  4. I can tell!!!
  5. It gives me a head ache to reach too far back, but I believe Smitty's was Ramey's (sp?) if I'm not mistaken. You can thank me for the sacrifice later.
  6. I wouldn't do that unless you put the hull through some rough places. The hull is already coated with epoxy, the gel coat, and adding another layer adds weight you might not want. A chip like you have doesn't appear to be any more than a chip in the coating.
  7. It's a chip in the gel coat and easy to repair. Clean it up to solid coating, fill it in and and cure it with a heat lamp. If you aren't worried about the looks you can sand it to smooth it in. You can also fill it with clear epoxy. Those can happen where the cloth doesn't adhere to the coating. You want to make sure if there is any loose coating you get it off before filling it.
  8. Yup they did. A good example of how a second of indecision can change a game. The AR DB had a an ever so slight hesitation and got beat. Oregon State is acting like they aren't suppose to get blown out.

    Big Weekend

There are a lot of good match ups this weedend. Oregon and Oregon State is always a good one, ND against Stanford should be good. For match ups that are real match ups and importance, Alabama/ Auburn and Mizzou/ T A&M will be the stand outs.
  10. Oops Ollies not Oscars. At least I didn't call it H & J!
  11. Charlies is open, Fort Bennett has a little stuff and Oscar's should be open. I'm not sure about the Gravel Bar, but it used to close under the old name. There's always Lebanon.
  12. I've never used anything but rooster saddles. You can sometimes 2 or 3 flies out of one feather if you tie different sizes.
  13. Ham probably has some suggestions.
  14. I settled on a pair of hunting gloves years ago. I believe I got them from BPS? They fit fairly snug and most important they are waterproof. I can't handle the neoprene fishing gloves. I've had a couple of pairs of them and they are warm, but they wear my hands out because they a stiff and require more effort to hold the rod. I worked outside and wore jersey gloves when I had too, but with an appropriate cover glove, leather for dry and rubberized for wet.
  15. I think the offensive coach should have probably been more specific when he told the players to "Block somebody even if your man gets away from you"
  16. That's right and what I read was the DNR was high bidder. I.E. it was put up for sale and they had the high bid, Beyond this I'll wait to see what they do with it before I jump to conclusions, I'm getting old and jumping to conclusions is getting be too much exercise for me.
  17. All of the perennial teams have some kind of conditioning coach. OK has lady who watches hydration during games. It really boils down to coaches when it comes to the perennial ranked teams. There isn't a team that is consistently ranked that doesn't have a coach who could go somewhere else and shine and that isn't the heart of it. You can look at teams like Bama, So Cal, OK, ND, etc that struggle the minute a coach leaves and it then takes some time and coaches before they hit on the right one again. They fluctuate according to quality of recruits, but overall they win. It's coaches, coaches, coaches. F&F, Bama isn't immune, case in point their loss to LSU.
  18. Well if it were a state park it would be well patrolled, but the MDC isn't as diligent.
  19. I think if they would give every FBS team a bye for the record on a first game with an FCS team it would be good for both programs. The FCS could play without starting with a loss and the FBS team could play loose and experiment with players under better conditions then a scrimmage. I still believe that once the season starts a team is better off without a letup in intensity.
  20. I agree with Wrench when it comes to fishing one, anything goes. For gills starting on top, pulling under and then to a piece of shot allows you to search for them. For gills I think a contrast or legs is a big help, with contrasting legs the killer.
  21. That is one possibility, but then there is Mizzou simply being the better team and winning, or A&M will be too high and beat themselves. Lots of real possibilities and that will make it a game to watch. I don't see Auburn sneaking up on Bama because it is such a big rivalry. Bama will want to own them and any other scenario such as overlooking them won't exist in my opinion.
  22. If you like fishing dries you need some Griffiths Gnats.
  23. I think Missouri played a reserved game because they could. A&M will look at this game and Pinkel knew it. As far as the matchup next week A&M has the problem. Mizzou can look at how they can be defeated while Mizzou doesn't really have anything but one quarter against SC. I doubt that will reveal much. I disagree about the weak teams played late. It can come back to bite a team that is in the big race because sometimes you need a big win to make a move, you won't get that against the FCS. Lets say Bama, FSU and OSU are very close are just a few points apart, OSU is going to get the boost simply because they play a FBS team.
  24. I don't agree they were pretenders. Like some other teams they met a team that was capable of giving a little extra at times. The computers don't like OSU because they have no bias and go on the strength of the competition. I think that's the only reasonable way to rank. I do think there should be more than one program to eliminate error however. There are too many teams for writers to keep track of them and coaches are far too busy to pay attention to teams outside their conference. I think as to your question if Missouri wins out than Bama and Auburn are defeated. I would hope they wouldn't do the ridiculous match up of Mizzou against Bama like they did with LSU? As far as FSU and OSU, I don't see anything changing there, unless, the computer decides that OSU gets extra points for beating Mich ST. That's a possibility because it looks like Duke would be FSU's opponent and i don't think they'll get a lot of credit there.
  25. Says who? The fact you're SEC prejudiced doesn't mean that extends to Big 10 fans. The one teams that seem to be on a no game path is Baylor. If they beat OSU the "experts" are saying Fresno State would be their foe and that will give Baylor nothing to gain, unfortunately. This si the same reason the BCS was formed and what has killed it. If they had controlled the top 6 ranked teams it would have worked. That is why I set against letting the minor league in. They get credit for doing well in recognized weaker leagues! The reason they have to come close to even get consideration is the reason for them to not be there!
