  1. Fished around PB 2 Saturday. Two in the boat we only brought home 5 whites and 6 crappie. Going again tomorrow, may be better. Seems like water temp is a little high but I don't know what it usually this time of year.
  2. Having to look at it at all times was a drawback I had never thought of at first but became one of the cons as I talked to this fellow. I took his word pretty seriously cause he sells these TM's and I had told him I had cash in hand. He told me a couple times he didn't think I would be happy. Thanks for the advice Wrench.
  3. Ok. I have been saving to buy a Minn Kota Power Drive V2. The reason I was doing this is because the way my front casting deck is set up my peddle is always under me because the cables cant make the turn. I was looking for a steer by wire trolling motor to help alleviate this problem. I talked to a fellow today that sells them and he indicated I might not be as happy with that type trolling motor. He said that if I spend a lot of time moving in and out of docks that I would probably not like it because there is a time delay in turning compared to the cable steer motors. I do move in and out between docks in the spring. Anyone have any experience with these types trolling motors? Is it hard to go from the cable to the electric steer? Also, it is recommended by Minn Kota that I have the 55# thrust and that only comes in a 12 volt. My plan was to keep the two batteries I have and put a switch in to go between the two on a day of fishing. The 24 volt is $200 more and the minimum thrust is 70#. This is going on a fish and ski and I was concerned with that much thrust and the torque it would put on the mounting area. I have a 50# now that is more than enough. Thanks for any input.
  4. Well, as things go, plans have changed. Looks like we are going to Stockton now. Thanks for the info, I do plan to fish down there some this fall.

  6. So, I usually fish for crappie in the spring and whites in the fall and usually on LOZ. A friend of mine wants to try Bull Shoals. Saturday we are taking our boats and our women down for the day. I have to work overnight Friday so I won't be on the water till probably 1:00 or so. I have never really fished for anything other than crappie, whites and catfish. What would be the go to fish to target this time of year on Bull Shoals? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  8. My family has stayed in that complex and you are correct about the support route. I worried about fire the entire time we were there. Millions of dollars of fire traps around the lakes
  9. That is great. I would love to hear the story. Would you want to share it on here?
  10. Thanks for all the input. Sorry I haven't replied, I have turned my attentions to dry rot in my camper. Another new adventure but thanks again for all the opinions.
  11. Thanks JD. One of my concerns was the loss of the 12/24. Even though it wouldn't last long I could do 12 volts if I had a bad battery so I could fish for a day. As far as the gas and oil, that is how I do it now but my gauge isn't real accurate and I can't see the tank so I am really never sure how much gas it will hold so I am afraid I will put in too much oil for the amount of gas I can get in it. People tell me I worry too much about getting the mixture right. They tell me to err on the side of too much oil and just go with it. Just go with it is not in my nature unfortunately.
  12. Two questions. I have a 19 foot fish and ski. It has a 50 pound thrust 12/24 trolling motor. I have an opportunity to by an auto pilot Minn kota but it is 24 volt only and 48 pound thrust. Is that big enough for my boat or would I regret the loss of thrust? This next question may sound silly but I am a little OCD when it comes to oil for my outboard. I have to mix my oil and gas. Will it mix ok if I put the gas in first or do I need to put the oil in before the gas in order to get it to mix. Sorry for the lengthy post and thanks in advance for any help.
  13. The old Bayliner I had at the time was falling apart and that old Force/Chrysler engine was a loud booger. He said when I crossed the buoy line I was running a little "hot". What I think happened is I got a little frustrated trying to load my boat and that old motor sounded like I was full throttle and it made a commotion and someone complained. He said if there wasn't so many people around the ramp he wouldn't have said anything. He was nice and it gave me a story to tell.
  14. That's funny nomolites. It can be very busy and it is the only place I have ever run across a water patrol. He gave me a warning for not being at idle speed when I crossed the buoys. Wanted to tell him if he could get my piece of crap Chrysler outboard to idle have at it On another note. I put in at Larry Gale last week with my son and kind of had a little run in with the G3 guys. They had one of the two lanes blocked and the ramp was busy. As I was going in to the dock to pick up my son the one testing the boat ran in to the dock in front of me. Had a little conversation with a big feeling G3 guy. My son got a little nervous, thought he was gonna have to keep the old man out of trouble.
  15. I am assuming it is a Native American name for that area handed down from older generations. I have never researched that but it is a nice ramp and use area.
  16. Pa Ha Tsi is where I put in when I fish the Glaize. I like to fish around the prison property mostly. Plug, I haven't fished much in that time of the night. I used to throw out a light and fish at night but I was a lot younger. My wife and I have appointments Thursday in Springfield till about 3. By the time we get home in Elkland, hook up the boat and get up there we are probably looking at 6 or later. May give it a try.
  17. What area of the lake do you fish. I would like to fish toward evening but I really don't want to have to load my boat after dark. Don't really know which ramps have good light.
  18. Gives me hope. Can't go Thursday so may try Friday.
  19. Thanks for the info. I may try again Thursday. I had about given up but I read on here that females with eggs are still being caught.
  20. Beginning to think I have lost my touch. Fished last week at Roach and yesterday at Shawnee Bend with no luck. I did at least catch two keepers yesterday. Has the spawn come and gone and I haven't noticed?
  21. Put in at Larry Gail Tuesday and today. Tuesday we came he with 18 and today 30. It was a tough day.
  22. Were you able to find it crittermo? That link Seth put up takes you right to it. A few of the guys I work with from Willow Springs are on there too and seem to do pretty good with some decent reports.
  23. If you are on facebook there is a page called Lake of the Ozarks Crappie Guys (I think that is the name). They have been catching them in Lynn Creek and where it meets the Osage is the last I seen on there.
  24. Can you send them to my phone? 417-818-0155
  25. A friend of mine is looking for a pontoon. I shared this post with him and he asked me if I could get some pictures and a location. If it is close enough he would like to look at it.
