  1. Just wondering if anyone has found crappie at fellows yet? Last year was terrible (at least for me). Hoping we can keep this warm weather and get them moving up.
  2. Went this morning with my brother. Wasn't great. Surprisingly the only two we caught were on top water. Caught mine on a popper and my brother caught one on a frog! Both about 15 inches. One thing I noticed about the two we caught, was that their tails were red and beat up. Possibly clearing beds? Wouldn't surprise me considering that the water temp was in the mid 60s on the north side of the main lake. Talked to another guy that said they were hammering a spinner bait early this morning and shut off later
  3. It's been tough the last few weeks. I went yesterday and only caught one on a spinner along the bank. I saw quite a few dead shad which probably isn't helping the fishing. Gonna try tomorrow. Hopefully it's a little better.
  4. I fished Delaware to shelvin several times last summer. If you spend a lot of time at every hole, expect it to take about 8 hours. Ive never done it in the winter but I bet it'd be worth it. Lots of deep holes through there.
  5. Planning on a trip to Stockton this weekend tho try to find some crappie. Unfortunately I don't have a boat. Any recommendations on where I could find some from the bank? Maybe high point?
  6. Headed to Springfield lake early Sunday morning. Wanting to throw some top water around early and then maybe try some flukes that have been working real well in some other areas. Not sure whether to head to the main lake or go up towards the river. Anyone been out there lately? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  7. Just got to thinking about this the other day. Every bass fisherman has a go-to bait that they feel confident that no matter the circumstances, they can always catch a few fish on. Now, I know over time, many become condident with multiple lures. But which was your first? Mine was a simple Texas rigged worm...
  8. Went Delaware to shelvin on Saturday with the same results; lots of short ones but caught a few 15 inchers. What were you catching them on?
  9. This was my first time floating this stretch. And I'll definantly be doing it again. Fished with soft plastics all day (my comfort zone) and caught about 15 smallies. The biggest two were about 15-16 inches. And several goggle eye. Had the best luck on a Strike King bitsy tube, watermelon seed. On an 1/8 oz jig head. Sorry, no pictures. Forgot to bring the camera along. A fun day none the less.
  10. Went to highpoint last weekend and caught 20 or so between the four of us. The biggest being about 5lbs. Had the same luck though. Shut off when it got dark.
  11. Well went out tonight and didn't have any luck with crappie. It's tough finding deep enough water fishing from the bank. Catfish were biting like crazy on minnows though. Caught about 20 between the 3 of us. Only ended up keeping 8. They shut off once it got dark though. Not sure why...?
  12. Gonna try my hand at high point tomorrow night. Lookin for some crappie. Has anyone had any luck in that area? Any help would be appreciated
  13. I don't know why is so unproductive. There are lots of deep holes with lots of cover. I have more luck fishing the stretch from shelvin rock to hooten town, and that area gets a lot more pressure. And the crappie I caught did have the stripe on its back. I had never seen that before.
  14. Took a float from the 160 bridge to Delaware Town (much longer float than I anticipated) No luck with bass. A couple 10 inchers is all. The highlight of my day was a 14in crappie caught near Rivercut on a 7in motor oil worm. Last thing I expected to catch!! Other than that it was a pretty disappointing day.
  15. Yea. They went out of stock pretty quick yesterday( no suprise there) And today the price was corrected to $409.
  16. Thanks to a HUGE mistake on walmart's website I got the Sevylor Colorado canoe for a whopping $13.99 yesterday. These sell for $480 at bass pro. It's an inflatable but should hold up for what I plan to do. Ready to get out on the water a catch some fish. No longer stuck fishing from the bank everywhere I go.
  17. How did this cold front (and snow) affect the white bass? Was catiching all males up until Tuesday, and finally caught a couple of females full of eggs. But do you think the recent weather delayed them again?
  18. I haven't fished this lake much, but where exactly is it legal to fish from? I've only fished at the 159 bridge but I've heard you can't fish from the shore line. I've never noticed any signs that say you can't. Maybe I haven't payed enough attention to it though.
  19. I'm assuming they were spawning. The males were rubbing themselves along the bottom. It could also be possible that they have already spawned and there's just some that are still hanging around?
  20. Fished a small tributary near Springfield yesterday and the white bass were everywhere. The only problem is that none of them seemed interested in anything we threw at them; minnows, rooster tails, grubs, ect. We caught 4 in 4 hours. All males. Could it be because the females aren't in there yet? It looked like they were clearing out nesting spots. Or are they just being picky?
  21. Went down to to the James today near shelvin rock and caught 3 decent smallies on a beetle spin
  22. I'm looking to get a kayak soon but have a few questions. I've been looking at inflatable kayaks mainly because I live in an apartment and don't have anywhere to keep a solid body. It needs to be a two person and relatively easy to fish out of. Plan on taking it down the James and swan creek mostly. I'm also on a budget. Can only spend about $250. I've looked at some Sevylor models but most have very mixed reviews. So are they reliable? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  24. Thanks! I appreciate it. Was looking all around on the maps for Taylor bridge and couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks for the help.
  25. There is a small trib that comes off of fellows and runs into mcdaniels. Had lots of success there 2 years ago. Not so much last year, but I don't know if anyone had much luck during last years run. Guess ill just have to wait for some more consistent warm weather.
