  1. I would not want to keep it if it would likely survive if released. It would be a good spawner. They are native to the White River. Fish that old are usually not tasty anyway.
  2. I don't think there is enough flow now to push the mud that far. Maybe it will get a little past 412 bridge.
  3. Lots of muddy water and debris coming down the upper White River today.
  4. I just walked across the road and looked at it. Up about a foot or more already since yesterday and has not yet crested.
  5. It is snowing heavily now in the upper White River watershed.
  6. Too much tech on a boat works against me. I have used my 597 hb finder for two seasons and the only things I can read are depth, temp, and speed. The graph is gibberish to me.
  7. That boat you have now will make someone a fine rig for fishing the river end of the lake. I have had bigger rigs and smaller ones, but the size you now have is about the size of my current Xpress and I think a great size. The 25 will get you down the lake OK on not much gas, and the boat is easy to launch in tight places. I hope you will not be sorry about trading. Just my two cents.
  8. The far upper White River has good flow from meltwater now, but it is very cold. The forecasted storm should up the flow even more, but still very cold water. Need a quick warmup or warm rain soon.
  9. Once we start seeing 65-70 degree days, the river end will warm quickly. I would expect water temps in 50s in the upper river end by end of March.
  10. Very professional looking jigs!
  11. If Sequoyah Dam was gone, the stripers could go up to Combs under most spring conditions, over 30 river miles above the lake. As it is, they can go up the West Fork up to the town of West Fork, but that tributary is more turbid than the main fork and middle forks. Sequoyah is not much more than a silted in mudhole, and will remain so unless Fayetteville does major dredging. I am surprised there is not pressure to remove that small dam.
  12. Thanks. I was just trying to help. I am glad you found the problem. I know how getting stuck on the lake is, hoping the tm has enough to get back.
  13. Unless the fuse was already undersized, it will likely blow again until the condition that caused an overload is relieved.
  14. If the stripers actually spawn, there must be a few fry that survive.
  15. I received one too. Think I might go to one of the sessions.
  16. Most people tend to quit when they don't catch much. Back in the 60s and 70s when we filled the boat, we fished more often.
  17. F&F, how do you normally fish striper jigs? Cast or straight down?
  18. Not just out of Beaver, but many other places in the local area, some pretty small.
  19. Some people catch huge fish or a lot of fish at places most would not think of, and nothing is ever posted and not much is said.
  20. I got a couple of the one ounce Wahoo Super Striper bucktails. They look to be well made. They come in 1/4 to 2 ounce sizes.
  21. Wahoo striper jig.
  22. Anyone have any luck with the one ounce bucktails advertised for stripers?
  23. Yes, I caught it on a small rapala top water on an ultralight. The fight was about equal to the usual 12 incher. This was on Lincoln Lake October 2011.
  24. I caught a 23 inch lmb that only weighed 3-9. Plastics
