It clears first at the river end, from Hwy 45 to Beavorama, due to relatively clear water running in as the river drops. Most of the muddy water seems to be coming from the West Fork, as usual. I suspect some illegal gravel mining somewhere upstream on that fork is making it worse than usual, as it was suddenly very muddy at 16 bridge last week without any rain. West Fork from about Greenland on down always contributes the majority of the mud due to clayey dirt roads and plowed fields right by the river. I wish something could be done about that, but it has been that way for many years.
The middle part of the lake from War Eagle to 12 Bridge might stay very muddy for a couple of weeks, even with no more rain.
