I have not mentioned this but there is some possibility that jacket failed from impact with the water. I still cannot understand what possed him to get up in that boat. on Sunday afternoon at that hour that spot he went down in never stops rolling.

your wrong Wrench its 150 % There are good people and there are bad things that happen. But many of those coming down here only want to party get drunk and act like asses. They sort of look down on us who live here are something like were less than them because They damage my property with no option my part to be able to hold them accountable for it. They hot rod the roads I have been cut off to the point of having to run off the road, ore than one time. Just late last Sunday I was on my way home. I encountered an large cruiser wake. I cut my throttle back so that I would not go through it hard. About that time here comes a wave runner jumping a wake not 15 ft to my side. He then made a fast turn across my bow about 20 ft in front of me. He was not young and he had what looked like a early teen girl on the back. All i could think of was were going to have another serious accident. But he just took off on this merry way. Its why do not trust or think summer people are anything but trouble especially if they are young and yuppie like.

Looks like cat fishing is really on the rise down here. Today is one of those days I like to be out. Wrench I need to put on some rain gear and take a spoon down to that hump I been telling you about. Also a good day to finally get over this 21" barrier on the bass. might be a busy day. Well i started to go but sun peeked out. Think i missed the opportunity. Maybe best. shoulder needs a rest anyway. e

yes to that wrench. We have all been 20 yrs old also. I is a very dangerous period in a mans life.

Wrench I do bot think they got the autopsy back yet. they might find drugs in there also.

Smalliebigs----_ They never secure anyone In a patrol boat. I wondered about that too the thing is if something were to happen to the patrol boat and the patrolmen was knocked out or the boat was to flip or some other thing like explode etc they might bot be able to get the prisoner loose in time. Wrench I have a he got the booze. They been closed since Saturday afternoon just after this happened.

I have a lot of questions also. I watched them pull him out of the water about 200 yrds from where I am sitting. Only thing is most of them surround the victim not the patrol. What was he doing drunk ? where did he get it ? I have an idea on this one. Some of these bars around here will serve a minor drinks no question about it. What was he doing driving the boat? Was he certified to drive that boat in Missouri ? If he was not he was going to face additional charges when they got him in. Now as to the water patrol. I have it from very good authority that all the rules were complied with by the patrolman. I do not believe for one minute the patrolman placed that PFD on him over the cuffed arms as his buddies. claim they seen. They were probably drunk themselves. Only thing I want to know about that part of it is how fast the boat was going. And why this young fool took it on himself to go to go to the side like he was going to jump ( and I believe he did ) out of the boat. He knew he was suppose to keep his butt on the seat next to the patrolman. I am sorry he drowned. But he surely could have killed people operating that boat drunk. I seen in the papers he was pretty smart young man. I do not question his intelligence BUT. I question his judgement at the age of 20. That pfd would keep you safe because it is hooked under your arms. Only way it will slip off is down your body and over Personally i believe he hit the water head first and the forward movement of the boat stripped it from his body As far as his buddies go we will see how their claim of him having the PFD outside his arm will stand up. So in fact the whole thing was his fault to begin with.

I got chipmunks all over the place. The neighbors cat Patches is not doning his job very well. If I catch one setting somewhere a lotvless than 5 minites he will bot be running off. They are fun to watch but the damage they can cause is something else.

To me finesse is a way of presentation more than the size of the bait.
-
It will be that way for awhile. I did not like the place I worked but after I retired I sortof had withdrawal over it. One thing is keep yourself in shape As years go by your going to need that strength.

I missed that Jerry sorry. i have never tried that. I would think there would be some attraction there though. I just wonder about getting it through stubble brush and a few other things like rocks. Could become a expensive drop shot weights.

the MDC had something about a infestation in Warfrats area. that was sometime ago. I am just wondering about it As far as the super clearwater here in the Gravois it is starting to cloud up a bit. I am pretty sure it is more drought related than anything else. the gravois Arm mis not getting the rain the rest of the lake. Thats what I feel. what are you doing tryimg to cross examine me are looking for trouble.

The upper one is a male bluegill in spawing color and the lower one is a female. -
I will say this a out the patrol now they have at least doubled the bumber of boats on here. They are blasting the drunks pretty good also.
-
That is 1/2 oz Jerry. U figured you would understand this thing.

I know that it is good. I carry it with me all summer. When I come upon a situation where I believe it is warranted I use it. I posted it to see what kind of a reaction it would get. A lot of these guys on here would not buy this Imam sure. It is nothing like what theyconsider the prescribed method of drop shotting .
-
Maybe. I still fish at bite now and then but bot on a regular basis. That was just a mess. I just might bot have the bight vision I had at one time.

You know what I think Mr Babler. I do believe your hell benton ruining your shoulders. We also had 2 drownings here this past weekend. The last one real close to me at the gravois 31/2 MM. It was a kid 20 yrs old under arrest for BWI. He got up while being transported. and either fell or jumped into the lake.It seem like there might be some procedure problems missing there. I thought you all had to secure them in the boat back in the day.

Would you use this drop shot rig??? The hook is a size 04 the weight is 1/2 oz and is located about 16 inches below the hook but it varies. Not shown is a swivel above the hook about 4 inches. The bait is a giant trick worm on this particular one.

ME TOO. If I could get out there and function like I used to. I tried to go out a couple nights ago to fish 5 or 6 docks along my bank. I had gotten a 4lb'er in the area just a evening before very close to total darkness. So i got the itch to go. I tied up a couple worms one 12" and the other 101/2. weighted both with 1/8 oz slip sinkers.I made a few cast and a gar got ahold of the 12" worm and took it all away from me. I then got out the trusty flashlight to tie on another one. That is when I discovered it was a invisible phantom line because I could hardly find it much less tie a knot in it even with the flashlight. After a very frustrating and demeaning struggle lasting several minutes I gave up in disgust and switched to the other rod . I made a few cast caught one short and then had a very very slight overrun. I straightened that out and and turned the crank and the reel jammed. That was were I discovered the rotten invisible phantom line had gotten itself into the reel handle where it was hiding from me and the flashlight. While search there it escaped off the reel a little bit and further compounded the problem. I became so disgusted with myself I came in and quit. Made me feel like I was a one man 3 stooges. Now you know what you got to look forward to you whipper snappers.

I wish I could still get out here on LOZ at night. But at 75 the eyes are not what they were in the dark and it a real b---- to retie a line with a pen light. Used to be i would just close my eyes and tie clinch nots and everything else by feel. I like june up here the best for night fishing followed by July. Around here I just git the brush in the shallows and points. Like any other time you need to know where the spots are.

Truman outflow is bot Clear. I am a bit concerned myself about this clear water. But I do not think it is Zebra mussels. Lack of rain more than likely. especially in the gravois arm area. I will be checking on the zebras next week if I go vertical jigging with my spoons for catfish since I bounce them off the bottom and will snag zebras if they are there.

MITCH BE CAREFU!. I will be married to this woman 50yrs the 6th of June. Let me explain something. They they do not give up. The word futile does not exist to them. There will come some purchase that you disagree on buying and she will bring up something something you spent money on for fishing. With that parked in your head you can decide to argue (not easy with your the new guilt complex) or give up and decide it is FUTILE.

MERC----- i would not worry about that an fishing. I do not run a foot controlled trolling motor. I have a long swivel handle. But I also maintain a award winning garden and have grow over a hundred verities of hosta plants among other things. Ive been digging holes and crawling around on rocks and you name it for 17 yrs on these things. Worst happened was I tripped getting out of my boat when it was up on the lift and fell about 4 ft right onto them( They have both been replace at the same time by the way) with no ill effects. I would worry more about them failing with age. That usually will happen between the 17th and 23rd year you have them. I would discuss with your doctor the need to take a Xray every couple of years. The reason is because when they do fail it will be very helpful to the surgeon that has to do the revision replacement to have a Xray history. My doctor did not do that( he was suppose to) and the Surgeon told me it would be a bit like flying blind. I was also told by my doctor also told me the plastic the plastic plate they insert had broken up in the left knee. that was not really true. It appears my doctor sort of jumped the gun. My left one is in a stage of early failure. There will be surgery in the not to distant future for certain. But I will be going back to every 3 months for Xray and maybe a some type of image. so that he can see what is going on. Revision surgery is a lot more complicated than first time and it has more pitfalls involved. Tell you what what I would do if I was you. I would buy a good knee brace and wear it. I have 2. I wear one on the bad Knee that is made by Mueller that has steel braces and is so effective I can step up on the steps with that knee with no problem most of the time. The other one is a ACE and it slips on then has straps you hitch up. I will be wearing that one for the. rest of my days to preserve that right knee as much as I can. The Ace is smaller than the Mueller. I think it would help you a lot to preserve that knee. Wally world has both of them in stock. Reason I am going through all this with you MERC is that I ask the doctor when I got the first surgery how long it would last and he said as long as you will. He told me also about replacing the plastic If that was ever needed. Well it did not work out that way and I have heard of many who have had this revision experience. There are also other things that happen. The post become loose (very common and my problem) and wear the plastic worse. you should try to research this question of life of a replacement on the internet if you can for your own knowledge.

Now Ivy I know about. Got to be one of the poorest areas in the country. Ozark Chapel Methodist Church is real active down there with a food bank and clothing. And now they are building a adult education center. They really do a lot of the right things for being such a small church.
