thanks guys. The beads looked the same from both ends, but I'll take another look. It was getting kind of late Saturday night when I did those. Re: the dubbing, Terry, it's gray and has scud dubbing written on the baggie. I bought it at Backcountry years ago. I use to use too much and they were too tight. I think I didn't use enough this time. I've got some gray, stretchy scud backing, but I've never really liked it. Have you guys tried use a baggie before? I've read that a few places. Re: the gap on the zebra, the bead doesn't wobble, but could if I wanted it too. I think I probably did put it on the wrong way.

See my latest attempts. Two questions: 1) On the zebras, there is a gap between the bead and the hook shank. The bead would cover the eye, but that seems like a bad idea since it would be hard to tie to the leader and seems like it could knick the leader. What should I do about that? 2) On the scud, I can't dub to save my life. That's wire making the segments, but it's showing up black for some reason in the pic. Any tips. It's a flashback. I know a lot of you swear by trout crack. I don't have the back material for that, though I know some recipes don't call for a back at all. The are all size 18 on scud hooks. Thanks for your advice in advance.

Thanks Tim. I think my first trout on a dry was on a beetle at RR. It holds a found place in my heart, plus I get tired of trout hitting my indicator.

I'm wanting to tie some foam beetles to use as indicators. I'm finding tons of recipes, but I'm not quite clear on the foam. I find the sheets everywhere, but I it doesn't look like that's what's used in the recipes. What do you guys use?

The pothole can be fun. I've caught walleye, whites, rainbows and a brown on the same afternoon. I skipped class for that trip and it was well worth it.

Listen to SKMO, but I am right about a good place to seine them.

I think it's a horney head minnow, but not sure. I've had luck seining them at beaver creek park. There is a creek that runs under the road there. We hooked them through the lips.

That rainbow has quite a paunch. So were you using an indicator w/ the jog on your fly rod?

Wow. That's awesome. I've always wanted to build a table-top fly tying bench but haven't gotten around to it. Clamping the vice on the kitchen table gets very old.

I've searched today and found eagle claw makes them to size 12. I've never seen them at wally world, though alletec (Jeff) said Phil carries them. I've seen them in the BP catalog from about every manufacturer.

I've read on another post that you don't set the hook, just start reeling. Does that really work?

Do you any of you in Ark. no Jerry McKinnis? I noticed he's retiring from The Fishin' Hole, but his production company does a lot of those shows on ESPN2. I would think a celebrity in the outdoor world like him might help get some pub. Plus, the state is a sponsor of his show touting it as a outdoor rec. spot.

I know at one time Todd Parnell, whose family has a long Branson history, was treasurer. I don't know if he still is. He is an interesting project they did with Bradleyville. The Branson Chamber used to have a Environmental Committee. When I worked at the Springfield chamber we worked with them to put on a day-long conference at the Chateau. That was probably 2000 and I don't know how active it is. If anyone is involved in the Branson Chamber, that would be a good place to start lobbying the business community. And there is the Upper White River Basin Foundation, but from the looks of their web site, they may have stalled a bit. http://www.whiteriverbasin.org/

You ought to have them do some lab work to verify. Of course, it would probably take years to collect. I can kind of understand problems w/ meat packing, but don't understand how peanut butter can be contaminated w/ an animal-born bacteria. I know if can contaminate irrigation water and soil, but don't they wash and roast them first? Here are some of the symptoms from webmd
