  1. I have a small portable hand steer trolling motor...its minkota i think...its at another house in the garage. I can check it tomorrow if interested
  2. All of the sugestions are good ones and there is a wide range in opinions about lines but the one and only consistant thing is that the guys who are sugesting lines and telling what they use are one very important thing...confident in what they throw!...whatver your choice(and its obvious that many different choices work) be sure of what your doing or its worthless. Its the same with lure choice...millions of fish are caught on millions of lures and 90% of the fish and lures are caught and thrown by fishermen -women that have confidence in their desicion. This is probably 50% of the equation to catching fish imo. Good luck and good fishing!
  3. Went out there this afternoon to clear my head on the account that my grandpa had a stroke and i dont do hospitals well so went out to just have fresh air and nature. I figured while there i would see if the crappie were running up yet. Didnt find any but was in the cove by the dam on the north side fishing off the bank and seen what looked like a walleye swim about 8 ft infront of me (btw water clarity by the dam is crystal clear) so i pitched my curly tail out and blam! Fish on! 18In walleye. So i worked back up the bank and seen a good one but thought i seen it too late cause it took off but i pitched out anyway and on the fifth pitch blam! This one was nice...around 4lbs. The pattern from now till dog days will be on sunny banks in spawning coves and the when real hot back out on channel swings. They will be running the banks though for at least another month. And to finish it i looked up after the second fish and a beautiful bald eagle was up in the tree across the pocket. It was really what i needed and it was deffenit that God was there and saying i got ya!
  4. Got into them friday night in eudora about a 100 yrds from the mouth. A mix of sows and males. Went back sat and they had moved out...the water started falling
  5. Im thinking that the males are probably moving up but id say the slab females are still suspended of the channel and in the timber. My dad and i are going to ruark tomorrow evening and running up to springfield cove and around in there. Going to throw jigs and if we dont get on em then im going to drag a flikr on the way out. I will post the results. On the bright side it wont be much longer now and then it will be good for a while!
  6. Yes sir!!! I forgot to mention flickrs...as for something other than a jig...a flickr has saved many a trips!!
  7. Any lead head thats 1/16oz and lemon meriange (late spring/ early summer), john deere. ( anytime )and wally world(fall) in little two in grubs
  8. I should mention after the spawn i fish flats untill sept, oct, just when it gets blazen hot go early or at night...many many cats to be caught during that time! Good luck
  9. About the mid may may to june they will start spawning. Rivers first then couple weeks on the lake. I fish the flats when the water warms a little more and drift from 6-12fow and use shad that i have caught or baught. Aldrich is a good place to drift flats and when they stat getting into pre spawn the rip rap under bridges is great with a cork with a number of diff. Baits. Leeche, worm, cooking shrimp, minnow, cut bait, ect. Right before dark along slab rock bluffs that are staged are good with a cork and minnow for cats and crappie. Hope you get em! Good luck and good fishing!!
  10. I just want to say thanks to you jim as well as phill and all of the other members...in the last three years this forum has been a big part of me having a full freezer and going to red lobster lol...good luck and good fishing!!
  11. That was wrote 2 years ago its pretty rough in there now if its soggy 4x4 is almost neccisary...i almost didnt get out the other day
  12. you just take 123 north of where 215 goes back west and cross the Aldrich bridge and continue to go north for about 3-5 mile or so until you come to a road on the left called 475 and turn left. the road will bend back to the left and then you have the option to go straight on a white gravel road or follow the road to the right go straight on the white gravel road and follow it about half a mile then it ends in the water but right before that there is a turn off to the right...turn right and go another half mile or so to the second turn on the left...once you turn there are two roads one left one right...if you have anything less than a jacked up 4x4 go left and follow it all the way round until you see a cut in the woods on your left where you can park...park there and take the walking path that goes straight off the hill to the lake...theres another trail to the right that goes to the water too but I always go down the one on the left going straight down...and that will take you to the water...take minnows corks and lanterns and fish 2-5 ft deep from 4 or 5pm till you get tired...I've caught many crappie and cats there and will be there next tues. wed. and thurs. night....message me your number and I can help you find it if you need it...also google Stockton map and you can find the road 475 i'm talking about. hope this helps.

  16. They should begin to start up on stockton soon...i saw a 6-7lb channel caught friday and heard of a couple more caught that day...the rivers at stockton will be first...i start catching them on the rocks in late april but they will go to the flats on warm days prior to spawning
