Part of the time was using 8 lb flouocarbon on a Stradic FK. Could cast a long way. I knew it was risky but it was producing.

Lost all to fish. On first one thought my son did not tie on correctly. but it was bad line. Another one was on braid with a leader, tried a new knot for the leader,... fail. The third one I was throwing line too light into the 3lb whites and line got cut. I have bought more braid and will throw on heavier line next time. Basically a combination of too much excitement and bad judgement. LOL

I have the Stradic FK and the Ci4. The FK is by far the best spinning reel I have owned. and costs 30$ or so less than the Ci4. The Daiwa' s mentioned seem like something I need to consider for the next reel.

Fished all day except for 2 hours off for lighting precaution. 6:15 to 8:45. Caught 83 and lost 3 whopper ploppers. Took my 15 y/o son. Had a great day. Most on top, spook and WP , few on the Ned, and one on biffle bug. Swim bait caught a few. 8 of the total were 3 lb plus. White or maybe hybrid bass. Only 2 smallmouth. He had a better time than it looks from his face lol

Eagle Rock would be a good choice. But who knows on a holiday weekend.

That helps to know... this forum has been very helpful. I really enjoy fishing and want to get better....

Thanks for the post. I have experienced the loss of fish because I jerked on a smoke grub and have finally retrained myself to increase the tempo and lean back on the rod. My question is with the Kietech swim bait they seem to hit it harder and if I don't jerk or if the rod is too limber I can't get the fish in. It should be just like the smoke grub only slightly bigger...but seems the bite is different?? Any thought and wisdom... Maybe I need to trust your advice and treat it just like a grub bite? Thanks

Boyfriend is a good kid. Loves to fish. But getting to share the day with her was priceless. Getting those types of special days together are not as easy as they get older.

Wonder what happened to that wounded fish. Fought like any other.

Took my 18 year old daughter and her boyfriend. Put in at 6:15. Fished until 1:45. Had a great day. Water temp was 68 degrees cloudy with light wind. Caught 71 total with 26 keepers. Whopper plopper, spook and yellow magic worked great until 9:45. Then smoke grub,Ned rig and 3.8 Kietech swimbait. Caught fish on every place we tried. Top water was in deeper water in front of docks. Most of the others main lake and some secondary points 10 to 15 feet deep. Although got a few in the back of a cove. Caught a few on square Bill crankbait Thanks so much tfor nthose that post it made all the difference today. Mostly caught Kentucky but got 3 smallmouth and two mean mouth. This was a day we won't forget.

Yes the hook is a too big. A shorter hook would be better. I always use the z tech. Wonder if a slightly more football head would be helpful. Is is the eyelet position why the hook set is so good??
-
That sure does look good. But must not act the same. I used an Aaron Martens jig head some, the hook set is great, but wish it had a flatter more stand up head. The angle of the eyelet or something really works for great hook set.

Thanks. I super glued the Ned to the hook. Bet I go back to a jig head.

Got on the water at 8:00 am. Caught 24. Mostly the Ned. PBJ and watermelon green. Most in 10 ft or so. Caught some on top water, jerkbait. Fluke Top water was by docks over deeper water. 6 keepers. But nothing beyond 16 ". Had a great time. Done by 1:30. Got a couple on the swimbait. Should have thrown crankbait. Got no bites on the jig,or biffle bug. Thanks so so much for those that post here. It is very helpful and make the week go faster. Question. Has anyone tried Texas rigging a Ned worm? I am going to try next time out..

Caught 21 Total 1 19 inch walleye. 19 short spots. And one smallie. Rock crawler smoke tube. And 3.5 inch swimbait. Could not get the top water to work or Ned rig

Had a 58 fish day Monday. Yellow magic. Dixie jet spoon. Smoke tube fished like the Dixie jet. Pull up let it fall worked pretty well. Caught several on in smoke grub. Nothing real large. We were in eagle rock area. Good luck

Holiday Island, Eagle Rock, Big M Weekend Report
fowlthing replied to Ken Drish's topic in Table Rock Lake
Was equally tough for me. Very slow and a lot of ski boats and jet skis to contend with
