  1. Nice. If you need a ride a long next week I'm available. I'm mean in case you were wondering is all. Nice walleye guys.
  2. Yes. Big pressure for me. Can't fail her. It's why I'm so dependent on the local guys to give me some good guesses to try.
  3. Yep. LBS. I'll be at campsite 21 this year. Raymond's family stole my normal spot. Thanks for the updates, going to look at my map SK and find where you are talking about. Don't know the lake well enough to hav a clue where those spots are but if listed on the lake map I can find them. Thank you very much. Last year my little girl managed to boat a 15.5 lb striper so naturally she expects to get one bigger. Should we fail, it will be all my fault. If we succeed, well it's because she is just a better fisherman than I am and she will continue to instruct me all year long on everything I'm doing wrong.
  4. Just wanted to bring this back up again. I'm heading up there this weekend to spend the week chasing these striper around. I always have to guess the week so I'm hoping it's not too late. Feathers and fin, jdoc, or any other locals have some good info on where to look? Doesn't seem like you guys target these fish but hoping maybe you have seen or have some friends that do chase the striper and could get me on some fish. I'm staying at lost bridge south all next week. Normally I just run the points up to rocky branch and hope I can find one or two during my search. Be much more fun if you guys know of good activity somewhere on the lake. Doesn't matter where, my boat can get me where ever you guys say to go. I don't see many reporting on breaking striper or hybrids. That just not a popular sport fish with the guys here? Thanks in advance and I'll be sure to share what luck or no luck I have for anyone else looking for them around that time.
  5. Keeping tabs on this thread. My once a year trip there is coming up first week of June. Specifically for surfacing striper. Always have to make the campsite reservations in January so just a guess on the best week at that time. Sure hope they are around then. My last two years have been really bad. Before that I could always find a few to catch but weather last year and the year before had my clueless where to look. They were not on the normal points I fished from all the previous trips. Hoping some locals will give me a honey hole or two come June 1st.
  6. Thanks for the update. I had not heard about this. Definitely going to be there.
  7. Thanks guys. I will start searching out the stuff mentioned above and thanks for some names to check in with.
  8. I've never heard anyone say this before. Are they hitting top water or is this still rigging with live bait and boards?
  9. I thought I'd start up a thread which I can come back to in a few months. Maybe find some guys who are far better at this than I am and wouldn't mind teaching me some things. For the past couple years I take off work for a few days and haul my camper up to Beaver lake. Then turn around and go get my boat. Pretty much an all day event to get everything up there and set up. I try and guess a good week in advance so I can actually reserve a spot. Around the end of May, into maybe a week of June the striper and hybrid surface. I guess the shad are spawning or maybe everything coming out of the rivers they get it all stirred up and you can find them breaking. My boat is not set up for down rigging so really the only time I get to do this is when they break. Plus is has to be the most exciting time to catch them in my opinion. So for the most part, I pick a point, point 5, point 6, and then just sit and wait. Once in a while I get lucky and they are there. More often than not I'm pretty sure they are not where I am. I'll go back to camp and chat with some of the locals but they are pretty tight lipped. Never understood that but oh well. Any time I manage to find them I'll always share with guys who are where I usually am, not catching anything. I've checked guide boards but I'm pretty sure they send you to the exact opposit of where they are. Took some advice last year from one, I was the only guy there. Not a single boat within a mile of me. Oh well. So I thought maybe this board might have some people who chase these fish around at this time of year. Just guys like me out fishing, not making a living from it. Gather up a few contacts. And we could all touch base come May and have some fun. If any of you would like, you can leave a message here or pm me if you like. I'd like to maybe have a better year this time out but need some help from you pros if you wouldn't mind. Last year I managed to take one 15 lb striper with my little girl. Was the only fish we lucked into that who week. It was great and I know you can't catch them all the time but seems like everyone always does a lot better than me and they never share much information. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part but it never hurts to ask. Brian
  10. Thanks
  11. I missed the spawn last year. Hoping to catch it this year. Any of you go after these guys and could give me a guess when to start making trips? I don't live in NWA so hoping to free up the proper weekends and maybe luck into them once or twice. Thanks, Brian
