  2. when we left Friday night we went up to the hatchery to watch them stock, water was rushing through the parking lot and down the hill. i'm sure tons of trout got washed out of the runways.

  5. Since this is actually my first post on OA thought I would also say hi and glad to finally post on the forum So a little about myself..... im 26, married and only somewhat recently got into fly fishing. I love every second I spend out on the rivers and creeks, and even better when the fish are biting. I live in Neosho, so I frequent Hickory and Capps creek, Shoal Creek, and Elk River. anyway took the wife to roaring river today. it was a mess. debris everywhere, water was way up and rushing. met Timsfly at his shop today. very nice guy I was really impressed with his shop and his products, I bought a bunch of flies, several of which he suggested himself. lost two which looked like brown wooly buggers with bright orange tails, these worked great in zone two I had lots of fish hooked but lost them in the strong current. everyone around seemed to have large quantities of big trout. about 10 minutes before the 8 o'clock alarm I found myself in the only calm pocket of water in the park. nobody was around and in a small window of about fifteen square feet I saw several trout rising. I couldn't see what they were eating so I frantically tore through my fly box for anything small. I caught one good sized one on a bead head prince nymph and another on a tiny black ant dryfly I bought from Timsfly. it was very challenging fishing today, probably way above my skill level for fly fishing, just glad I caught something for the dinner table.
