  1. i suppose, but i assume that they will "eat" it. teeth or no i don't think we have to result to unconscious snagging..
  2. i doubt that. i'm sure Asian Carp would bite a fly just like any other fish.
  3. the falls is pretty decent i hear, lots of people fish it to though. I like to use red/chartruece. Your not to far from Kellog lake, i hear they stock that lake.
  4. ....are there fish at Wildcat? I've seen tons of people fishing there (problem?) and i've never seen anyone land a fish yet.
  5. Man, that may really be worth the 3.5 hour drive.......
  6. Oklahoma sadly lacks severly in trout, maybe they will start putting in effort to make their state a better fishery.
  7. wow great fish, are cuttys common at Norfork?
  8. all on night crawlers lol
  9. when i fish i fish to eat. that said why would anyone kill another animal just to do it. Even if you don't like carp i dont think it's right to come in and kill them for no reason. Makes me want to start sticking people with arrows, just to do it.
  10. AAAAARRRGGHHH dont tell me this, i really have to do yard work.........
  11. well my rods of choice don't fall into any of those choices. i typically carry either my 9ft 7 weight flyrod, my 13 foot cane pole, or my 18.5 foot cane pole
  12. it just depends on the fish i guess. I have caught some trout before that swallowed a size 8 stonefly tied on a circle hook so deep i was pulling the hook out of their caudal fin lol. Of course i keep some of these flies around, "just in case".
  13. i tied some of these up today and they look amazing. One tip i would give is don't waste time trimming the stray fibers, i just ran over the dub with a lighter a few times and it worked great. they look even better in person.
  14. i haven't fished eggs yet, but this may change that.
  15. Grizzly i would love to see some of these 'beer flies' also i think i have a great idea for a new contest/drinking game. This years fly swap is going to be a RIOT
  16. i'm 28, i grew up playing video games and really not caring about fishing. as i got older i started to appreciate the simpler things in life. When i started fishing again i found within it new amazement and appreciation for something that i always considered boring when i was a kid. I wouldn't say aging out is right, but for me personally i had to grow into it to love and appreciate it. Plus with current technology and viewing the world with adults eyes, i can appreciate things like this: (sorry female members, but what can i say??)
  17. At my age, I just like to feel my rod throb. i don't think to much about my smallie experience. I just tie some flies that are dark with chartruece or some crawdad flies and go out and swing em. I don't over think or romance smallie fishing as for me it's just something to do after the trout bite dies off. that said i always have ALOT of fun and I usually do decent catching them. I hit secluded spots on indian and elk (few and far between) and i often hit up shoal. This years plan included whitebass, trout, smallies, carp then brownies more or less in that order.
  18. Hang 'em High A few Dollars more True Grit Caddy Shack No Country for Old Men not necessarily in order but i think this covers it.
  19. well my brown trout fishing dreams were dashed, did any of you guys fish the flies from the swap? Any luck?
  20. I use a 7 weight (for everything). And i fish Asp streamers tied small for whites (and all other fish now!). Sorry Amery, i must be the only person in the world that hates clousers but i loathe that fly.
  21. fished spring last week (sunday). Not one bite, cold weather/ drizzle. Crowded on Neosho, abandoned on Spring. Water was up and dirty. Went past spring yesterday (sunday april 5th). High, muddy, cold, lots of crap in the water. Basically not yet.
  22. that's what i figured.
  23. i've always been kinda unsure of fishing there, the no fishing sign up by the pool always makes me nervous. I assume that the "NO FISHING" applies to the pool only but i have never asked anyone. there's also some koi there to.......
