  1. I've grown up fishing bull shoals around the tucker and diamond city area and both sugarloaf creeks have phenomenal white bass fishing. I've also done great on bear creek. I know very little about the Missouri side but those areas I mentioned have great white bass fishing. However right now with all the rain it will be very muddy and I would guess the water temp would be 48-50 degrees at the warmest
  2. Went to the bridges day before yesterday and there were no cars in the parking lot. Fished down river from there yesterday with no luck and was about the only boat that was fishing in that area. Id say that it's still too early, there might be a few fish there but they are few and far between. A few more 60-70 degree days and it will be on though.
  3. Tomorrow is my day off, and can't ask for nicer weather. Planning to fish upper part of the lake around the war eagle or 412 bridge area and try to find some whites and some crappie. Anyone have any luck out there today?
  4. I appreciate your generosity FF and plan to test out your methods once Mr. freeze bugs out of the area in a few days!
  5. I think y'all just have the magic touch! I tried that spot once last week and once the week before. Only managed two whites. Tried spoons, jigs, and flicker shad.
  6. Anyone had any luck or heard any reports on the walleye in the tailwater/HI area?
  7. Great day of fishing, left with 15 fish between 3 men at Ranchette. No browns but caught several nice size rainbows!
  8. Got out on the water today to see if I could make something happen. Exited after a couple hours after being blown around by what felt like 40-50 mph gusts. The wind was harsh! On the way home passed 3 trees that had fallen across the road that were not there on my way in.
  9. I agree with you 100%. I've been watching the duck commander videos for over ten years now and it still amazes me that they grew to what they are today. While I know they are honest country folks to the core, when their show first came out on tv and got popular I cringed about what it would do to those of us that chased ducks before it became the "cool" thing to do. Honestly last year I had more issues with the duck dynasty hunters in NWA and the river valley as opposed to in the delta.
  10. Anyone been to delta lately or heard anything recent about water levels/duck numbers? Talked to a buddy in Stuttgart and in Jonesboro last week. Apparently the rice/bean/corn harvest is over with. Almost no water except for what is being pumped. Huge duck and geese numbers however for this time of year, I'd say due to the unusual cold fronts we've had in the last few weeks. Anyone else have any other info?
  11. Any one had any recent success at Swepco since the cold frog came through over the last few days? Would think that it would really get them going there.
  12. I've been wondering the same thing. I've got a buddy that's going to check today and see what it looks like. If the plants off, I'm going up there tomorrow. If it's running then I'll be there in February after duck season
  13. I've always viewed teal season as "nfl pre season" with duck season being the regular season. However I still enjoy going out and getting after some teal if there are any around. In the previous 4 years the teal have only arrived in hunt able numbers in the last 2-3 days of the teal season. Another thing I've never understand is that the shooting hours don't begin until sunrise during teal season. However, to play the devils advocate I've read in the past that BWT have the highest overall mortality rate of any duck species. I have wondered if that is due to the great distance that they migrate, and the area that they migrate to (Mexico, Central America etc) where hunting is not well regulated.
  14. Had the fish begun to move up into any of the creek arms, or still primarily on the main lake areas?
  15. Does anyone know anything about these lakes and if so any fishing reports?
  16. Do you prefer to catch shad for bait or buying some on the way? I've done fairly well on cut bream in the past but it's tough to beat shad, especially for the occasional striper. Would love to get ahold of some skipjack, it doesn't get any better than that bait wise!
  17. Thanks for the link, I haven't fished a tailwater in a few years so the read was helpful. Looking forward to going down to ozark and giving it a try
  18. Anyone know any info about the catfish I got striper fishing below the dams at ozark and ft smith? I've done pretty well below Dardanelle in the past, but live much closer to ozark.
  19. Thanks for the advice guys! I'm either gonna run up to the dam or to rocky branch in the morning and give it a try, ill post later about how the day went
  20. Bass, I have a 17 ft Stratos Bass boat, standard set up. 120 hp evinrude.
  21. I remember watching the FLW your and some college tournaments and hearing similar stories about how the patterns change. I've done some trolling at Bull Shoals for walleye so I have a little experience with that. I've also done a lot of crank bait fishing and worm fishing different techniques. It sounds to me like the lower end of the lake from 12 to the dam is place that I need to concentrate. I've mainly fished shoreline so off-shore fishing will be something new for me to learn. Is it good to target long points and flats with brush? Or are the fish primarily schooling so it's better to locate schools of bait fish? I'm planning on going out early in the morning an fishing into the afternoon. Thanks for the advice!
  22. I just moved to the area and will be fishing Beaver Lake as much as i possibly can. Any advice or tips would be great. I mainly bass fish but I am open to any other species as well. Where are the good areas of the lake this time of year and typical patterns?
