  1. Thanks everyone for suggestions. Momule, no fish finder not an option as I like to eat crappie, and I have a hard time finding a brush pile in 18' of water without one, but can appreciate the way you enjoy fishing I'll buy something on sale this winter. Priorities have changed. Air feels different, three dog boxes in the truck, new flat of 16ga 7 1/2's, bird season is imminent. momule, I run electronics on my bird dogs too ?
  2. Thanks for reply, Overton's is out of those. Right now Helix 5 gps,di, navionics seems to best deal at $349. May wait to see what else goes on sales this fall.
  3. Looking to spend around tree fity on a unit. Looking at hbird helix 5 di gps. Pros, cons, other options? Is the lake map feature worth the upgrade. Primarily fish Pomme. Thanks
  4. I'll take the jig heads at $40.  Let me know how you would like to be paid.

  5. My primary ned rod is an AVS66MLF. Good sensitivity, balances good with 2500 Stradic. You could probably find comparable for less money.
  6. 2500 stradic, 6'6" ML avid, but that's not what you're looking for Do a quick search on bass pro combos, bunch there. They have Pflueger president spinning combo matched with bass pro 5'6" light to 7' mh, and everthing in between, im6 blank (I think), for around $70. cabelas has a similar combo on "clearance" for $80. I've only bot 1 of their rods many years ago. Hopefully they've improved I have an old president that I handed down to one of my boys, it's still in pretty good shape after many years. Lots of options.
  7. Thanks for everyone's input. Brought home my "new to me" '03 Lowe 180W w 90hp Yamaha 2 stroke. Prop doesn't have nick on it, boat in like new condition...can't wait to remedy that. Was pleasantly surprised by ride. Light chop on Pomme yesterday, very smooth stable ride, 42 on the speedo at wot with full tank and wife on board. That's plenty for me. Not a fan of the stingray fin thing on lower unit. Why is it there? Porpoising?
  8. I don't have one. Looking at an older boat with a looks to be low hour two stroke. Just wanted to get some opinions.
  9. Any consistently poor experiences with Yamaha outboards? I know there is always possibility of a lemon, but overall quality and reliability? Thought I read somewhere a while back that Wrench wasn't high on them..?
  10. Went down for short day to mow the grass for first time. Been reading the reports but was surprised at stain going over Nemo Bridge. Big boat still in storage but did manage to put yak in on Lindley side cove. Fished 1 hour, caught six crappie 1 short/5 keeps and 2 barely legal really chunky blacks on glow bobby garland jig 1/16 oz pony head spinner. All fish came in and around docks 6-8' of water, water clarity 1- 1/12', don't know temp.
  11. Thanks much. I think I found them on netcraft at $27.95 per 100. They only showed red in bulk.
  12. Neophyte questions. What size Death traps? Do you like Red or nickel?
  13. FYI Reserve is $8000. Was going to look at it, but outa my strike zone for a 15 y/o boat.
  14. Anyone remember what was the high this past july?
  15. Noticed the Pomme jumped up to 7.48 at Polk, must have rained somewhere.
  16. Seriously... There's one big thunderstorm in the entire Midwest and it's tracking straight for Hickory County!
  17. 3 day forecast shows lake jumping to 854 by Sunday. Hickory county rainfall totals look to be 1 to 3 inches with heaviest accumalation in the western part of the county. Only my second summer on the lake. Makes me nervous as a dock owner. On the other hand, lots of places to hide for this years spawn.
  18. Wow. The lake jumped 2 feet in last 24 hours? Must have gotten a bunch of rain.
  19. If I'm reading it correctly, 3 day forecast shows discharge increase to 1000 cfs, beginning tomorrow. With current inflows, does 1000 cfs drop the lake?
  20. Thanks for the update. Always wanted to float the river. How would the float/fishing be, dam to Hermitage at 500 cfs? Trying to plan my fishin tomorrow. Would really appreciate anyone's thoughts on if 500 cfs release is conducive to liesulrly yak float/fish morning, or should I stay on the lake and wait for slower water. Thanks
  21. What MoPan said...past weekend lots of shad in the ice, many smalls, several bigger. New to Pomme, but I've seen same thing in other lakes after ice out.
  22. Good morning, thanks to all who post on this site. New to Pomme this summer, thouroughly enjoying the lake. On the Lindley arm last Sat encountered large schools of yoy shad, many dead headless floaters. Are headless shad due to predation or some type of other trauma, maybe prop wash?
