  1. Thanks for the reply Phil! I only ask because I'm bringing my buddy down first weekend of March and he's all new to trout/fly fishing so it should be a trip!
  2. Thanks for the pics! Looking forward to getting down there in a couple weeks. Can you get to Lookout Island without a boat to do some wade fishing?
  3. I know they make the single hook Rooster Tails but I haven't seen them on the cleos myself. I'm not sure on the whole situation I was walking out and just ran by a few folks and we're talking about it.
  4. Yep there egg flies. Just egg flies tied on a jig head.
  5. They were sluggish. Seemed to better fishing right after they shut the offer off. Caught a few maybe in the 16-18" range? Otherwise smaller ones, but all were the pretty ones, not the silver bullets. I'm not sure didn't measure them got them in quick and back on there way, so I didn't get any pictures either. Fiancé even noticed they were fighting and seemed as they were just swimming around gasping for air. They weren't active for much except for one guy that insisted he was killing them, come to find out because he was snagging them.
  6. The fiance and I were down last weekend and stayed at Lilleys place. I knew fishing was going to be tough considering the oxygen levels and what everyone was reporting about, but we had the trip already planned so figured we would still come down. Definitely was a tough time. When we arrived Friday they had just shut the water off so i figured i would wet a line! Only managed to catch a few on a Green Crackleback. Remained tough while we were down and seemed to pick up a little better on Monday. Caught a few here and there on some San Juan Worms and Scuds. Caught quite a few right below the cable on some Copperhead Midges in the afternoon/evening before they blew the horn 3 or 4 times!. All in all still had fun on the water. Anyways better luck next time!
  7. Awesome video! Definitely plenty to eat!
  8. A buddy and myself got down there today for about 5 hours. He is new to trout fishing so i figured it would be an interesting day none the less with breaking off thinking he's bass fishing! But anyways we had a great day landing around 40 fish between the both of us and probably as many misses as well. We caught all fish on Miracle Flys in Pink, Peach and Blue colors. Also did very well on a Mega Worm! There was a handful of people fishing but wasn't crowded. I noticed quite a bit of people using Rooster Tails and Little Cleo's on spinning gear doing well too. Anyways thats all i got.
  9. Haris - Thanks for the reply! rFisherk - Thanks for the quick report from today! Thanks guys I appreciate it!
  10. I have a question about the catch and release. Never been down for it and was wondering what all I needed. Do I just need trout on my fishing license? Or is there a daily tag I need to enter the park? Headed down tomorrow and would like some info! Thanks in advance
  11. Thanks for the report. Headed down end of next week!

  15. Thanks guys! Amery - Yeah majority of the time
  16. I finally was able to get down to Taney to so some fly fishin! Overall I thought it was a pretty fun trip considering the continuous 4 units they ran just about everyday! I fished every morning from around 5:30 for about 4 hours everyday and also fished the evenings every night from 6 or so until dark. I did well on tan and grey scuds sizes 14 I believe and Uv scuds too! Caught some on both silver and copper zebra midges and green, natural brown san juan worms and peach miracle flies. I caught a lot of browns which I didn't expect! If you weren't getting bit then I kept switching flies often until I found a fly that the fish liked! On my last evening I fished for awhile on Thursday evening catching a few here and there before switching flies to a tan scud with some flash in and a little bit of black and hooked into what I knew was a decent sized fish and finally got it in and ended up being a 25" Brown! I was thrilled and couldn't of asked for a better time! Until next time....posted some pics!
