I've been fishing a ned rig for might near 30 years, kust didnt know thats what it was called. Never tried it on the lake, works great in creeks and rivers.
This weekend there were dozens of boats at pt 15. Its odd that it varies so much. I can remember fishing between there and Longs after being done trout fishing on the 1st.
I have been using ugly stick light and ultra light rods for years. I like both the 5 and 6 footers. They are great for crappie, whites, smallmouth and of course, goggleeye.
I find 12 inch LM pretty tasty, its its best to catch them upriver. I once had a guy tell me ha caught a 7 06 smallmouth on Spring River, but he was a story teller. I caught a snub nosed 5 lb LM on Sons Creek a couple years ago while fishing for whites.
I am no expert on Truman Lake. One thing I have figured out is that if you want fishing, be it crappie, whites, or blues, contact Richard Bowling. He runs a guide service and knows the lake as good as anyone.
