  1. Thanks guys called them up and they were already full.
  2. Does anyone know if there are any privately owned campgrounds that are on the lake that are currently open? Looking to bring an RV and stay for the weekend. Thanks in advance.
  3. Put in at Prairie Creek around 10 to the wind howling. Was hoping to fish a couple areas close to the launch but decided it wasn't worth fighting the wind and throwing an Arig into it. Ran over to Coose caught a couple keeper spots there, as well as in Ventris on bluffs. Decided to run up the river and check out an area around Pt 12. Caught the pictured largemouth about halfway back out of a cedar tree. All fish came on an A-rig in 15-20 fow. Water temp was 49-50 degrees. Had 8 total keepers all of which were spots except for the pictured largemouth.

  5. Nothing I did. If it wasn't for my wife's uncle I wouldn't have caught any. That guy catches them almost every time he goes. I was just lucky enough he showed me everything needed to catch them.
  6. Started out bass fishing in the Hickory Creek area to no avail. I happened to run into my wife's uncle on the water and he turned me onto a crappie bite. I've never specifically targeted crappie on Beaver but love to eat them so we decided to chase them. Started fishing bush piles, standing timber and the tops of trees with Bobby Garland split tail shad on a jig head just reeling extremely slow. Caught them up on the bank from 2-4 and suspended in trees 4-8 ft. Ended up with 40 between my brother, his son and myself. Pic below was of the biggest one. Caught a couple bass and whites mixed in as well. Also, ignore the purple life jacket. My wife's was the only one I had small enough that would fit him.
  7. Had a club tournament Sat and it was perfect weather for fishing! Started off in Prairie Creek caught 3 keeper spots off of a long point. Ran up to Clifty and caught 3 more off a long point as well as the striper. Then ran over to Devils Gap and managed 3 more keepers. Ran back to Prairie Creek and had a nice largemouth come off at the boat that bit off of a deep dock. Final 5 were the 2 smallmouth, 1 16" largemouth and 2 fat spots. Threw the A-rig all day long. Boat had to be sitting in 40-45 fow. Best 5 went 11.47.

  9. That crappie hammered it to. He was on a laydown right on the bank. I actually saw him take off with it when he took it.
  10. My partner and I kept commenting on all the boats that kept coming in and out of there. We were there from 930 until around 1300. And for anyone that likes to fish for whites and hybrids they were thick half way into Blackburn and in the back of Avoca.
  11. Thanks for your humble opinion. That was two double hooks ups in two casts. Just kinda the way it worked out. And the hole reason we took the pictures were to post them on here for others to enjoy and see that I was giving a legit report to help others like I've been helped by this site. Starting to think maybe that was a bad idea.
  12. Those four fish all came off the same spot they were released right were we caught them.
  13. Friday was the best of the two days we fished. We fished between Avoca and Monte Ne targeting 45 degree banks with chunk rock. Our best fish all came on smalls cuts on these banks and secondary points. All fish came on a wiggle wart. Saturday with the cold temps over night none of the bigger females moved up. A few fish did show up for us on Saturday. We ended up catching probably 15 fish had a total weight of 9.54lbs. We started out in Avoca and water temps had dropped from 52 over night to 44 degrees. So we fired up and fished Blackburn. All of our keepers came from there except one. Friday was one of the best days I've had on Beaver in a long time. Our best 5 from Friday would have went 18lbs. Also on Saturday while fishing the Ned Rig I caught a crappie on it. That was an surprising catch on the little rig. All below pics are from Friday. Since we were fishing a tourney on Sat taking pictures really wasn't on our priority list. Did talk to the guy that won the tourney he caught all his fish dragging a jig around the Prairie Creek area. He ended up with 15lbs on Saturday.
  14. What was the water temp out there
  15. I actually did a study on this for a science project in high school. Old plug is correct it all depends on available forage for the bass. The type of vegetation in a lake in a lake also has a factor in growth rate. Deeper lakes like Table Rock without grass bass actually have a faster growing rate then shallower lakes that have a lot of grass in them. Lakes where huge balls of forage can gather in deeper water bass will have a faster growing rate due to the that huge amount of available food in one area. Where shallower lakes with grass forage is more spread out and harder to find. The fish that spawned in 2008 in Table Rock would be somewhere between 15 and 17 inches right now on average.
  16. Gotta ask what's the NED rig.
  17. What length and action rod do you guys throw the rig on?
  18. Thanks for the info guys!
  19. After my grandfather passed away I was given the largemouth bass that he had mounted. It's in need of being restored. Does anyone have some suggestions of a taxidermist in the area that does restoration?
  20. I was fishing a club tournament in March on Table Rock. Air temps were in the 30's and it was snowing. The guy I was in the boat with and I were both in the front of the boat so we could parallel fish a bluff. Standing side by side he accidentally hit the trolling motor and it was sharply turned away from the bluff and on high. He bumps me into the water. Luckily I didn't panick. Swam to the back of the boat and climbed up. By the time I got to the back of the boat I was already freezing and the cold water had basically paralyzed me. He had to help me in the boat. He had and extra set of clothes in the boat so I changed and continued fishing. In that case even with a life jacket I don't know if I would have had the strength to put myself in the boat.
  21. Just joined up. Glad to be here. Really looking to start tournament fishing in a team or solo points style club in the NWA area. Currently no longer have a boat so if there is any one out there looking for someone hit me up. Let's talk.
