  1. Can't throw the little 3 arm guy? I guess I could always snip the top hooks...
  2. This just makes me want to throw a larger shad on the bottom rung of a Yumbrella. ... hmm...
  3. BPS would not match this, so I ordered it from Cabela's. Cabela's Terrova $1299
  4. Same here, ordered some recently and they really look good. For the price I have no intentions of purchasing jigs anywhere else in the future.
  5. So are your iPilots the older versions? I ask because the descriptions for most of the new setups specify "improved spot lock". "New i-Pilot The most popular GPS trolling system now features a larger LCD screen and more intuitive control. Get the most accurate Spot-Lock ever, plus Advanced AutoPilot, track recording, and control of speed, steering and cruise control. Available on select models."
  6. Specifically one without the foot pedal? Thinking of getting a PowerDrive, this one: PowerDrive I think I would prefer the Terrova with the foot pedal but not sure I can justify the cost difference. Everything seems to be listed at MSRP, so no great deals to speak of. Any input from an owners stand point?
  7. That's what we got as well. Maybe get a chirp model next year or something, right now there's plenty of stuff to spend the $ on before chirp.
  8. I know, I think when moguy posted the link it was $479... but now it's $529.. BPS is gonna be about $538 with tax...
  9. Must have went up, shows $529
  10. Meh, my plan currently is snap the deal on that non chirp model and get started. Next year when the chirp model is on sale, if I've came to the conclusion that chirp is necessary then maybe I'll get that and move the old one to the bow. Maybe then I'll get the 9" model.
  11. Went and looked in person at BPS tonight and this is definitely the way I'm leaning now.
  12. This thread Garmin vs. Dragonfly Has me rethinking the Raymarine. Need to keep the price reasonable though, would really llike to move to an ipilot set up soon. ... ish.
  13. Our '93 champion has some Hummingbirds that are...idk, probably about the same vintage. Reading some of the graph reading how tos it's clear, I've got to get in the same decade to even make any sense of what I'm supposed to be doing / looking at. Obviously I'm not looking to spend tournament money, but then again having never bought or used any fish finders... I've been trying to read up on what options are necessary to actually find fish. So, got the new BPS ad and the Dragonfly 7 Pro caught my eye. 7" color screen, down vision, sonar... a price I can almost live with. Reviews seem good Comparison Need some advice from the pros, would this be a good move?
  14. I have the edge and bang for the buck is good. But, I wish now that I had went with an iPilot compatible model.
  15. The top cap of our Champion has been done with bedliner. Being a black boat anyway it looks good, is super durable, and grips well to step on. Not sure where the PO had it done, but I've had my truck bed and other stuff sprayed with Ultimate Linings by Gibbs Upholstery & Bedliner in Republic.
  16. Thanks man, but it was a bust for us. Noticed a lot of people were jigging / stationary. We really have to invest in some decent electronics this year. I think ours might be the original Hummingbird stuff from circa 1994. Our luck is often hit or miss since we're usually just winging it. But it was nice out and good just to be out on the boat.
  17. Well, we're gonna add these to the collection and see what happens. Tackle box is looking kinda gross, need to clean it out and start fresh. Too many rusty jigs and BPS lures that never see any use.
  18. Looking to get the boat out and cure this cabin fever. No idea where to go or what to throw. I only really recall catching trout this time of year at Rockaway Beach. But would be pumped to catch anything from cat to bass or.... crappie? Seems too early for most. Based out of Marionville so, table rock or stockton are usual destinations. Open on that too though. Gonna hit Academy tonight and impulse buy some lures. Have a pretty good selection but, not much in the jerk bait category. Been wanting to try a Rock crawler but... $10..idk. maybe Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks
  19. Is there some where with more color selection than BPS? I was hoping to get some glittery gold or glittery red to match the striping on the boat? Thanks
  20. Thanks for the responses guys. I went ahead and picked up the Laser SG in a medium heavy fast action. I'll give it a chance and I can always add another if I need to.
  21. So, I have a Lew's bait caster on an old Shakespeare rod. The rod was a Walmart special I probably got when I was 12. It's pretty soft, and Friday I lost a couple decent fish right at the boat. My partner suggested it might be time for a better rod to improve hook set. This will be basically an all around rod for me, although I have a spinning Ugly Stick as well, and ULs for little stuff. It will mostly see the usual bass lures, cranks spinners jigs worms top water etc. I'm not spendy (20 yr old Shakespeare rod as proof) but I'm trying to move up some. The Lew's Laser SG Graphite at $50 is right in my comfort zone, but I could come up some if you guys think I would ultimately regret the SG for some reason. Its a 20 yr commitment after all ;P http://www.lews.com/rods-lasersg.php Thoughts? Something better I should consider?
  22. 90% of mine are imaginary and the other 10% get off before I can get em in the boat. Won't keep me from trying again on Friday . I'll take any tips anyone doesn't care to share. Thinking about putting in at viola again, but could go cape fair.
