I'm wondering where a good private place is to park at night on the lake. By park I mean a romantic like place to take my girl on our date and park. Like a boat ramp put in or a road that leads down to the lake. Somewhere on table rock around Branson to park at night.

Jug Fishing The Creek
Simonthegolfer replied to Simonthegolfer's topic in General Angling Discussion
Here is a couple of the better fish we caught. Had some smaller cats on the line but none big enough to keep. -
I often jug fish lake Dardanelle, so last night I suggested my friends and I go throw out jugs down the creek. I have not ever done it in a creek and it is quite the experience. We must have set jugs out 2 miles down the creek. We had 2 guys in a Jon Boat and my self and another boy in kayaks. It was a sight to see!! Hahaha. Next time we defiantly will be prepared!

I was throwing a Yum crawdad for the most part. Thanks for the info

I saw fish they just would not respond to any bait I threw! Might I try wading near the snow acess soon?

Went fishing tonight at Crooked Creek at the Pyatt acess. I fished for 3 hours and caught only one dinky smallmouth! I waded the creek up and down a ways. I don't understand why I did not catch fish lol

Spinning Reel On A Casting Rod.
Simonthegolfer replied to Simonthegolfer's topic in General Angling Discussion
I have known the guides of the rod is bigger on a spinner rod. I never thought much about it. Keep in mind though, I'm only 17 and have onlygotten into fishing a whole lot the past couple years. I don't want seem like a complete idiot. For now I will keep the same rod/reel combo until a spinner rod presents itself. I'm not gonna jump up and guy buy a brand new rod for 200 bucks just because my rod isn't right. Thanks guys. Great info on rods, never knew much about the science of them! -

What do you mean?? -
I don't know if anyone ever does this. I know it's the "wrong way" to do things but I have used a spinning reel on my casting rod for a long time.. I love spinning reels I use them almost always, I have owned this particular casting rod for quite a while, my grandpa owned it and gave it to me. Over the years ( before I knew a diffrence in rods ) my spinner has ended up on it. I've known it's wrong but never changed it. It has always worked well, no problems when catching fish. I like the trigger on the rod also.. Would like to see some input on this topic.

Ozark Anglers Member Decal - Input/vote Needed

Id definitely put the updated C with a clear background instead of white on my back glass. -
The redbuds are beginning to bloom! It's getting that time of the year again. White Bass are gonna be running up the creeks! I've caught a few white bass on a Rapla ShadRap in the shad color last week. I tried a hair jig with a Berkeley 3 3/8" minnow trailer with no luck.

Owning A Boat In College
Simonthegolfer replied to Simonthegolfer's topic in General Angling Discussion
Hey thanks for the input guys! Also for the fishing team/club idea grizwilson. I knew about collegiate fishing but never thought about it at Tech! I've spent many a days jug fishin on Lake Dardnelle and no it extremely well and knowing where that small of a boat could go isn't a problem. I forgot about Lake Conway though...good crappie fishin. And being that my friends will be at college a year before me it might be wise to hold off on the boat until I get there as my friends would have the experience of freshman year and know wether the fishin boat would just be a bad idea or not. -
Owning A Boat In College
Simonthegolfer replied to Simonthegolfer's topic in General Angling Discussion
One of the guys already has an aluminum John boat. It's really long too. I thought about taking that down there but it has no motor on it. How would that be setup to fish a lake? -
Hey guys, I'd like you're opinion on owning a boat in college. I'm a junior soon to be senior in highschool and my 3 best friends are seniors, they are attending Arkansas Tech in the fall. I plan to go there also when I graduate. Anyways we are all avid fisherman and with Lake Dardnelle only minutes away from the school it would be torture to not be able to fish it. So do y'all think buying and owning a boat during college would be a good idea? We would probably split the cost 4 ways between us. And also the cost for storage I think it's like 35 a month (split 4 ways) at a U Haul type place for boat storage down there. Thoughts? Someone who owned a boat in college? Another (free) solution to storage maybe?

Any Long/cricket Creek Reports On Crappie And Whites?
Simonthegolfer replied to ten_scoach's topic in Table Rock Lake
Went to Long Creek Saturday evening and fished till after dark. Caught 3 Kentucky bass, 1 white, and surprisingly 1 really good small mouth! We were about 4 to 6 miles up the creek from Table Rock Lake. A buddy had caught a a couple crappie a week early at the same place. Needs to be a little warmer for White Bass IMO. -
Hey guys, I just joined this site. I'm from Harrison Arkansas. Let me just say, this site is awesome I wish I had known about it before! Lots of great info about the surrounding creeks and lakes that I fish in Arkansas.
