Yep it's a shame. Yesterday was a nightmare at PC. And drove by PC at about 4 today and was amazed at the.boat traffic, and especially the amount of boats showing up to launch that late on a Sunday afternoon. Cigar boats too. Ugh.

Haha yeah. There were a ton of topwater baits tied on. I had five for 9.23lbs. It was a serious grind. I decided I was sticking to my plan that has been working for me, but one that needs lots of wind and or heavy clouds. (Not to mention missing topwater time the first two hours) Neither of which happened at all. I ended up junk fishing and then bailing on my primary area the last hour of the day. In that last hour we got our best two fish. That's how it goes. Always a learning game.

Glad you got to experience the topwater. I was one of those boats sitting there waiting. It was the right call to delay takeoff but still frustrating. I got one keeper on top and by the time I got it in the livewell the sun was shining bright. Killed the top for me.

Went out this evening around 5 and I'm almost 100% positive I left my knife on the bathroom sink at prairie creek launch when I changed clothes. I went back tonight once I realized it but no luck. There was a pretty large jackpot going on so I'm hoping some nice person picked it up in hopes of returning it somehow. It's a Browning brand knife with a clip on the side as well as engraving on the handle of a duck dog. Its also got my name on the blade. It's not valuable money wise but it has sentimental value to me. Message me please if you know someone who found one out there. Or if you happen to of picked it up, I plan on checking in at HLS in the next few days if you want to drop it off there. Thanks.

I have a medium sized spook tied on a rod and in the boat and it never comes off.

Additional thought, For what it's worth, I fished the same location two times in one day yesterday. Once at sunrise and once at sunset. Sunrise it was absolutely dead. Sunset, I smoked em for more than an hour straight on topwater. It taught me to not discredit a spot from one morning.

I'm sure it would work Stump. But I haven't tried it. I've been doing plenty of damage on the good ole spook and a little on the whopper plopper.

Thanks guys. I'm guessing the bigger one was around 14-15. I released them both. Swimbaits worked for me.

Got a couple hours in before work the other morning. Water temps around 67. Fish bit early, as soon as the sun came up the bite died. Both below were caught throwing artificials.

I second Hook line and sinker. Keep in mind it could take a week or two. I believe the guy picks up/drops off the reels each Saturday.

Don't have any clue on mechanical issues. But I'll second what Dan said about Rogers Outdoors.

Mhmmm Jason. I had a college professor that inspired me to get one of my best grades at school. Wore pencils skirts, stilettos, and sheer blouses every class. I always sat in the front row for Ms. Morehead's class. True story. We all have different things that help us learn.

Never tried it. Just what we need, more social media apps to stay connected with.

Thanks for the report. Keep it up.

The double uni hasn't let me down. Aaron Martens uses it, so I figure it's good enough for me. Crazy Alberto is good too ofcourse. I find the double uni a little easier in low light situations. Heres a video.

I hear ya. This one is in the center console, but it's going to take some creativity as it is bigger than the last one. And mounting it on the floor like the factory one is not an option. Salt water ate it up.

In my opinion I think that for most cases 8# is all you need for a spinning rod. Big fish are caught on light line all the time. The water is dirtier than you may have experienced and so I have been using 10, 12 and 15# with good success. Most all my spinning outfits are now setup with 10# braid and then a flouro leader of about 5-6ft. If I'm fishing topwater I go to mono of course.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. Went ahead wth the Minn Kota and the 10amp. Found it on Amazon for $250. Now to install and test it.
-
Thanks for the input guys. And feel free to chime in if you haven't yet. I'm leaning towards the Minn Kota system. I like how it regulates based off of temperature, as well as saying that it is corrosion and shock proof. Follow up question would be, the 5 amp is less expensive but is it worth the savings to go with 5 vs. 10? Other than charge faster, is there any other benefits?

Hello gang, looking for advice on an after market charging system for 24v setup. It's for a center console that the original finally gave out on. It needs to be shockproof and waterproof as it will see time on the salt. This is for a guy who isn't overly maintenance oriented, so I simple system that keeps batteries in good shape without too much involvement would be best. Top of price point is around $250 if possible. I appreciate any direction in what to look for.

I haven't been able to either. Must not be up yet. I know that when I was weighing in there were numerous bags of 15 plus. Including I believe a 19lb and something bag. They put my three fish to shame, but it was a lot of fun and I left room for improvement.

What Jolicious said. I'll be one of them so don't curse us too bad.

Nice. Seems the fishing is picking up. And certain patterns seem to be working more consistently.

Lance, I have never fished the run where you are talking. That said, it sets up very similar to a place back on the Norfork where I have years of experience. I prefer a 6-7 weight rod, more because of ease of casting in the wind rather than because of the weight of the fly. I have had best results on neutral buoyant flies, combined with sinking or intermediate lines. Not to say a Clouser won't catch fish, or that I don't use them. I use 200-250 grain sinking lines quite often. Even in river systems I don't use floating lines hardly ever. Floro leaders are a must in my opinion. Feel free to PM me sometime if you want a fishing buddy. I can also send you a pic of the fly and colors I use a lot. Catches the snot out of walleyes too.

Fished for appx. 3 hrs middle of the day today out of PC. Plenty of sun and an eastern wind that was pretty strong in places. Water temps were 44-45 and clarity was stained with maybe 1.5 ft of visibility. I managed five bass and lost two others that were head shaking. Maybe a few hits missed too. I was cranking and the bites were subtle on most. Fish were caught in less than 10 feet of water and I do believe color of bait was making a difference in success, as well as the cadence of the retrieve. I lucked I to one and then replicated that and if turned into a pattern. All fish were caught within 40 yards of rocky points or indentations in the bank. Here's the best three.
