  1. You mean as a rod holder and a bait bucket all in one? Fella might be on to something there! Never have, I have sipider rig racks mount on the bow that I can remove easily. And then just use a bait bucket with a bubbler. It's a lot of fun once you get a system down and figure out where they are hanging out at.
  2. It isn't mud but it's not clear either. To me it still has this greenish tent mixed into it. In my opinion the color looks great.
  3. Got out today and went back to the same area hunting for crappie that I was at last Friday. Lesson from the day.. I need stronger hooks! Hooked up to three more stripers and lost two due to them jokers straightening my hooks! I got the fun part in though! I like to use a thin wire hook, so they'll straighten when I snag. Water temp 43. caught striper and crappie in 20-23 fow 16-18 feet down. There was shad swimming up close to the surface and all around and that's where I caught all my fish, was in and out, around the shad. Pics below. A handful of a mess of crappie and the one striper I made sure not to lose. She measured 24 inches.
  4. No sir, didn't catch any whites. I was surprised by that too.
  5. Thanks, Yeah I know right. I've caught them this way one time before back in the spring. That time I lost a real big one that pulled all my line off and caused a big cluster. This time I was lucky that each one was on the outside rods.
  6. It sure was! Thanks
  7. Wow! First time out since before Christmas. What a awesome eventful day yesterday was! Went out yesterday pushing minnows hunting for crappie and ended up with 4 stripers and 5 crappie. 40 degree water temp, 15-18 feet down, in 20-25 feet of water, in the White River arm is where I caught my fish. Swinging stripers aboard on a long crappie rod don't work too well by the way. Only downer from the trip is I got a Helix 5 SI GPS for the bow and the fist time out using it the DI and SI is a black screen. Sending the unit and the transducer back to HB to have them figure it out. Here some pics. Have a great weekend on the water.
  8. Drove around the other day Hwy 412, Blue springs, and friendship creek areas. Water color looked good to me. Not mud, or brown but clear with a green tent to it. Hard to explain...Planning to get back at it next week. Figure my best bet would be slowly pushing minnows and cast n drag shooting docks. Best of luck to those that get out there.
  9. Cool deal guy! They sure are fun to catch!
  10. Sweet Danny! Nice eye!
  11. Thanks Danny again for the invite. Always a good time when we get together. Look forward to the next trip sometime soon.
  12. Caught 12 in about hour with 6 of them being really nice while the others where 9-10" Vertical jigging a brush pile about 17 feet down using electric chicken BG baby shad was how I caught most of my fish. Like I said they bit good for about an hour and after that they shut off on me. I Hate when that happens but lots of fun for a short bit. Played around double dipping while slowly moving around watching my graph and also cast n drag a go go minnow as well but could not really get into another mess of them. Just one here or there every once in awhile. Awesome weather to be out. Pics below
  13. Nice Danny! Good catching up with you a bit today.
  14. Awesome Danny!
  15. You are on a roll Danny! Goodtimes there!
  16. Awesome Danny! Well done!!
  17. I can make it out there on a Friday a few times later down the road to give it shot.
  18. Pretty much a rubber stamp as last weeks update. Pulled flickers for crappie a bit and then went and jigged lay downs catching little runts again.
  19. Danny it was 63 degrees up the white today. Glad your rolling again.
  20. Nice one and go Royals!
  21. Didn't know that either J-Doc. May have to go and explore and find out.
  22. Thank you sir. These are white crappie in the pics. Whites will suspend in open water more often as compared to blacks will hang in brush more. Not saying you won't catch whites in brush either but if trolling open water you are more likely to catch whites than blacks.
  23. I enjoy being on the water this time of year.... Got out today about 11:30 and shut it down about 2:30. Water temp was 68-69 with a stiff wind from the south. Pulled Pearl white and black silver #7 flicker shads between 110ft to 150ft out the side of the boat over main river flats in 15-25 feet of water. Did that until I got too fed up with the wind and went into a creek and played in a lay down with some aggressive little black crappie. Can't seem to find a crappie over 12" in brush piles yet. Everything mostly 9-10". Here some pics.
  24. Ha Ha!! Sounds like it Jerry...At least today anyway.
  25. Size 6 and 7. Pearl white is all I pull.
