    LMF flooding

That place is being destroyed again because of rain. Releases are double in comparison to the 2009 flood event. http://lmfrfoundation.org/photos-of-the-2015-flood/
  2. When they blow the horn to release water in Arkansas and Missouri, it's coming right then. Oklahoma give several warnings before the release.
  3. Some people think catch and release means catch and release in my fish basket. I saw people keeping fish there last week.
  4. That would be the TU chapter in Tulsa
  5. One generator just came back online the other day. The mega water was coming out of the conduit gates.
  6. Since the sluice/ conduit gates are closed then maybe there's going to be some fishable water now.
  7. This is the time of year where the fishing usually gets messed up from a lot of rain. Lot of water goes in and they let it out. Ive been too busy to fish but am hoping to get to the Roaring river in Missouri this week.
  8. Don't go, too unsafe. It is over 7000 now. If you had a bigger boat with a motor maybe but there wont be any wade fishing.
  9. 632 is their favorite number. Im surprised they havent had them open keeping the lake down the last several days. Watching the numbers since I started fly fishing they like to keep it close to 632
  10. I bought the simms freestone being I got them for almost half price. My first boots were simms G4's. They were a good boot but started to show their age. Steepandcheap.com had a good deal on those boots so I bought them. They will have fishing gear every now and then and I got lucky I happened to check their sight that day. Go 2 sizes up on simms. My G4's were a size 10, the freestones are a size 11 and my feet stay warmer.
  11. She will never let you live that down till you best her. Now you have to fish more.

  13. Did you watch your line on the backcast? You said you didnt feel your rod load which makes me think you went forward too soon on the forward cast. Hard to truly diagnose your problem without seeing you cast.
  14. If you watch the stream gauge dissolved oxygen numbers, that will let you know when it's flipped. Based on what I've seen, it hasn't. Last year you could see the numbers go up and stay up within a couple day period. The D.O. numbers will stay up much higher during the longer periods of non generation.
  15. Got what they deserved
  16. Sad day. A friend of mine lost his drift boat from a tree and strong current
  17. This was in West Virginia on the Elk river. 28's and 32's are a normal thing there. Those guides there really know there stuff. It is a limestone spring fed river with many types of aquatics insects. Ive never used anything smaller than 6.5x for Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas trout fishing. For some interesting reading check out this link, http://www.elkfishers.com/the_elkfishers_story_book_modern_tales_offrom_the_elk_
  18. Ive used 8x on a size 32 spinner fall before. You have to remind yourself, when using lighter tippet, to basically just lift the rod on a hookset or it is going to snap. Lighter tippet has its place at certain times and situations. I like to use as big a tippet as possible and still catch fish but will adjust if I think I need to change. The lightest ive used this summer has been 6.5x and I will say that I like the trouthunter fluoro tippet better than the orvis fluoro I was using.
  19. If your talking about a kayak you will be fine with no generation, regular motor boat, forget it. You'll have to fish the very end of the LIR with a motor boat with no generation. I dont know how far upriver you can get from Gore landing. If you had an air boat you might get further up river. Stripers are there, I've seen pictures. No shad in the river so the stripers are tearing up the trout right now. Non generation water flow sucks, it makes me wish they didnt fix the leak
  20. Thanks for sharing the pictures
  21. I bought some trouthunter tippet in 6.5x to try out in hopes I can keep from using 7x
  22. Flood gates mean warmer water, no good. Look at what just happened on the Norfork recently.
  23. Go to riverrunoutfitters.com and look for the midge link. Some of those work decent on the Lir. Copper dun is one I use as well as the p&p. Black zebra with silver, black zebra with copper. Olive flash and red flash midge. Olive is always good, put some flash in it and tie some buggers.
  24. I dont see a picture
  25. Today was the day to go, water has been off since yesterday evening.
