  5. Thanks for all the help guys. Just bought a new fish finder with gps. Will take all advice givin and go out and have fun fishing, or just having fun acting like a fisherman.
  6. The wife and i are new to fishing on lakes. I used to fish in the streams and farm ponds when I was younger. Question i have is what is the best fishing line to use? I look at them all the time and don't know which line is the best. Right now i am rigged up with cajun line 8 lbs test. Am i not using the right line because its red? Another question is what is your guys go-to tackle. It seems everything i throw in the water i never get anything. Maybe I'm doing it all wrong, or just fishing the wrong areas. I usually put in at high point and rarely come down past the 245 bridge. Our boat is a pontoon so im limited to where i can get into. Did some scouting of the boat ramps. I want to try to put in just south of the 215 bridge on the west side of the state park. Never been on that part of the lake before. We like to tuck in coves to keep from drifting so bad. We don't have a trolling motor, so we basically anchor and fish. We are strictly catch and release, pleasure fishing only. We don't travel all that far on the lake from where we put in at. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. If any of you guys see us we have an old 86 bass tracker 24' party barge with a maroon bamini top. Our tow vehichle is a red 06 dodge 3500 megacab dually. Usually at the lake every other weekend. Thanks again.
  7. Dropped boat off at fair grove marine this morning.
  8. Bass pro only works on mercury
  9. I posted in the Stockton lake section. I am looking for a good shop to do some work on my 115 evinrude. Have some electrical issues. Just looking for a top notch shop that won't give me the run around and sell me stuff I don't need. Thanks in advance.
  10. Had the cover off the motor. Looked like one of the wires got hot and melted. It's coming from the wiring harness that comes front the shuttle back to the engine. Thanks for all the help. I will give josh a call on tuesday
  11. Would you happen to have any contact info on him?
  12. Does he work on older motors? My motor is a late 70's evinrude
  13. I am needing to get some work done on my boat motor. Looking for a reputable shop that does good work and stands behind there work. I am having issues with my 115 hp Evinrude that I have on my 24' pontoon. Got to the ramp yesterday and the darn thing wouldn't crank. It's something electrical I think. Just figured I would ask here seeing all you folks are way more informative about this stuff. Thanks in advance.
  14. Well i went to academy saturday night. Sold out of the Lowrance Elite 5. So i went online and got it from Academy website. Should have saved the trip and done that anyway. How user friendly is the Elite 5. Im just a novice fisherman that don't get to go all that often. (Work out of state) I know I will just have to play with it and figure it out.
  15. Anybody have any input on the Humminbird 386 ci di?
