  1. Was the developer forced to make the necessary corrections and has it improved?
  2. I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma and the A/C seems to blow "tempid" air sometimes. It will still get ice cold off and on but the temperature is not as uniform as it was a year ago. I had the freon recharged and it was .5 lb low and immediately afterwards it was getting much colder, however cycling between cold and tempid (not exactly warm, but not cold enough). I was thinking maybe an expansion valve or drier causing a problem (possibly making it difficult to get a correct pressure measurement on freon in the in the first place?). The compressor looks to be running and sounds fine, and like I said when it cycles cold it blows 41 degree air, but does not stay that way. any ideas? I used to do this stuff for a living but after getting into the IT world 8 years ago I have no idea, especially on this vehicle
  3. They do have their place, it just depends on what your needs are. I would not be able to survive with a MAC by itself in my line of work...more compatibility, more mainstream, etc
  4. The other method is open a run command, by clicking your start button and typing MSCONFIG This gives you a startup tab which lets you identify the items. Note: this might not necessarily remove items from your startup folder but it usually removes the registry entries mentioned in the previous post. It will sometimes give you registry locations to items that are not in the convential "currentversion/run" key. This works on 98,ME (i think), XP, and I think Vista. It does not come preloaded on 2000 however can be added by simply downloading or copying the MSCONFIG.exe file to the correct location (system or system32 folder) Chances are 95% of what you see running in the systray (lower right hand) does not need to be there except your virus/spyware scan. Some people do prefer to have their PDA software and maybe printer toolbox, scanner software running all the time. I am a proponent of only calling up apps when they are needed. It saves memory. I have increase performance for many a user simply by removing these items. One other performance tip for XP, right click on "my computer" select properties, then the advanced tab, go to settings and select "best performance", then go down the list and select the last three boxes. This eliminates all of the fancy XP bs like fading in/out windows, shadowing, and features you don't need. Checking the last three boxes keeps the regular "look and feel" of XP, otherwise you can leave all of them unchecked. This makes clicking around and navigating the desktop quicker due to less delay. There are many other performance tweaks besides but that one is very easy to do
  5. You could also run "Parallels" on the MAC which allows you to run Windows and MAC OS, however I am not sure of the MAC version required (hardware or software) for this but Webfreeman might know. It is really cool. It looks as if a "cube" in is your computer screen and you can spin it around to the other side to switch operating systems. I have seen it on a couple of machines that belong to co workers, but that is the extent of it....
  6. The one in Kansas City does a ton of business. We use them when we don't have something on hand. Sometimes good to know what you are looking for as the staff isn't always that informed (to be expected though with so many products). They do carry just about anything you can think of though.... They also keep some products around that are thought to be outdated by other retailers or distributors (PCI cards, SDRAM, regular DDR memory, IDE drives, etc) They open 10:00am and there is always a parking lot full of folks waiting to get in (most for business purposes I am sure) As far as your camera, there are models out there (not sure about the one you bought) that can be put on a network, given an IP address, and then managed with a web interface, that way you only have a power cord and network cable plugged into it (unless it is power over ethernet, then just a network cable). They are really easy to set up and eliminate a local PC connection. Many office environments use them as auxillary security cameras, video projects, and other stuff
  7. If you do get viruses I have had the best luck with AVG (www.grisoft)which has removed viruses missed by Mcafee, Symantec, Trend Micro, Sophos etc. I could probably document several hundred instances like this. Also installing CCLeaner on your PC (www.ccleaner.com) and running it frequently helps. It is a free tool that wipes your cookies, temp files, history etc (your IE and/or Firefox temp files are many times the culprit for harboring the bugs you don't want). You can also set it to clean your search history (items you have type in the Google search etc) If you install CCleaner follow the installation closely and notice that it tries to install the Yahoo toolbar but you can opt out. I install this on client PCs all the time and it really cuts down on viruses and spyware/grayware. AVG is free if you use it on one computer. It is funny because I read articles about how great a product it is yet the other companies sell alot more product. As far as the MAC argument, they have their place. I work with a couple of die hard MAC guys and I like to raz them about it. Microsoft is still the main streamplayer in business and home wether people like it or not. MACs are good also but there is less support out there and hardware is more expensive (not always but in most cases). They are awesome with graphics. There are not as many virus/spyware written for MACs because there are not as many of them out there. I don't know that a MAC is "bulletproof". just my .02
  8. FLYFSHN, The Hobbs Creek and Dogwood Canyon reels both have a really decent "drag startup" and range on them. I have one of each and they perform as well as anything else I have fished.
  9. I still have an old South Bend Plueger Clone reel somewhere that I bought at KMart for 15 bucks (or something like that)...works great.
  10. I thought that listing looked good, glad someone got it. I would have bought it but I have enough gear laying around as it is....I like the Pflueger Medalists
  11. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-PFLUEGER-Medal...1QQcmdZViewItem This listing says the reel is new, and it looks good in the pic. Made in U.S.A. model.
  12. Are you completely steadfast on programming? There are tons of opportunities out there for network administration, support, etc. Working in the field has a ton of advantages (no politics, self managed, flexibility, etc). Just a thought. I agree on the Java thing though, absolutely.
  13. definitely a good system, I have several clients that use it
  14. I live outside of KC but will be down at Taney this weekend so I should be able to hit the fly shops down there.
  15. sounds like a good choice. I can hopefully try one when I am at Taney this weekend. I see that RRO has a good selection of Battenkills as well.
  16. I have been using a BPS White River classic for a couple of years (6 wt) and I can handle it well but I am looking at going with a faster action (in a 5 wt also as the 6 wt seems to heavy at times). The classic is rated as moderate fast but I'll have to test the Pro to see if the performance is better.
  17. Does anyone use a TFO Pro series? I am looking for a new 5 weight but have a budget and I liked RRO's price on this rod. Is there a huge performance difference between this and a TiCr?
  18. Olive/partridge 18 soft hackle, this is the fly I have caught the most fish on at Taney, stripping or nymphing with it.
  19. I can imagine, truckers can be difficult, granted alot of them seem to be considerate but there are bad ones. I'll bet that is quite a sensation when a big truck flies by you and get pushed aside by the turbulence
  20. good point about the book. I can't believe how many people I see reading while they are driving. I've seen that alot lately. The other day a guy was on his cell phone and reading some business papers (holding the phone between his head and shoulder) weaving all over the place. The reading thing floors me. That is horribly dangerous. Is the drive that boring?
  21. everybody is in a dam hurry. If only they knew how stupid they look when they are tailgating, weaving traffic, pounding on the steering wheel etc. driving around Kansas City is hilarious, soccer moms going 85mph in their SUVs, grown men driving like teenagers (not paying attention, tailgating/cell phone at the same time etc etc) I like it when some one makes a left turn into the right lane or vice/versa and then flips me off because I am in their way (idiots) PATHETIC!!
  22. I saw signs on both sides of the road at the LWR indicating regulations etc. I have seen people post reports about the "dairy farm" side in this area. Is the dairy farm private property or is there an arrangement with MDC? I was under the impression that you could only access the north side of the road (where the parking area is). I'm confused
  23. good question. I think I saw 2.89 outside of KC today. I was in Osage City Kansas on Friday and saw a sign that said 4.36, it must have been a joke (smart aleck messing with the sign). I definitetly did a double take though
