  5. Awesome! Catch!
  6. Not every trip is epic and while it's easy to say about any trip and or float that it sure beats working, seldom is it expressed by how much it actually does beat out a day at the office. There is no applause meter or cheesy magazine quiz (10 question to know if your trip was fun) to determine that. Add in the fact that each participate, like witnesses to a crime, are likely to have a very different description of the perpetrator of said crime and we arrive at the conclusion that there is no scale to weigh the results of any trip. Right? Read the Rest
  7. Nice Catch!!! I'd like to see a pic of that fly.
  8. Carp-A-po-lu-sa (Probably spelled that wrong) ended this weekend with a bash at the shop. Some great prizes were handed out and a good time was had by all as best I could tell. Looking forward to next year and hopefully I'll be on the board this time. Thanks for putting such a great event! Are we Not Fish!!!
  9. When I create a pattern or ty something for the first time I try to exaggerate some of the features of the bug I am trying to imitate. For crayfish patterns that includes the claws, eyes and antenna. Now exaggerating doesn't always mean larger, I just want the feature to standout more and make it so no one looking at the pattern will have any dough what is the claws, the eyes etc. In fact I prefer the claws to be smaller and not equal in size to each other. It makes the crayfish look more defenseless and easier pray for Mr. Smallie, I think anyway. When it comes to color I want a dark pattern and a light pattern in the box. I also try to use materials that will have some motion even when the pattern is at rest as I find most takes on Crayfish patterns happen while the pattern is at rest. Hope that helps you out some. Remember there are no bad tys but there some not worth repeating.
  10. Good Point! Can't be all bad hasn't killed me yet.
  11. My favorite fishing in Missouri has always been South of the 38th parallel. More or less that's where the water becomes clear as moonshine, the country a bit rougher and there are still plenty of places where the road just ends. Excellent Smallmouth and Trout fishing all more or less in the same area. Terry and I planned a trip a few weeks back and this time we were going to be joined by Hunter,Terry's step son and Debi, by far the best part of the two of us. Read the rest
  12. I've not used the Taneycomo Sculpin. But caught a few on pine Squirrel Sculpins. Size 6 hook in olive or my favorite natural.
  13. That is one fine discount.Sounds like I need to plan a Taney trip
  14. Easy on the Fish anyway! If it catches on and We'll all be seeing the latest in underwater fishing gear by next season.
