  1. Good info, thanks. Can those same size boards be used for crappie or should smaller boards be used?
  2. Also, is there any other accessories I need to purchase or do the units come complete and ready to go?
  3. I think I'm gonna buy a couple. I noticed there is the OR12 which I found best price with shipping on Amazon at $38.00 or do I need the SST Magnum which is $50 plus shipping? Do you generally run 2 planers boards or 4?
  4. Good report, thanks
  5. Better safe than sorry
  6. Great!!! Never thought of donations of tackle and rod/reels. Another great idea that hook, line and sinker would hold for him or can be delivered in person if you know Vinsott. Generosity is an unseen law. It is like gravity, it is there but can't be seen. Generosity has a return to it for the person who operates in it. I wish I had learned it when I was young. The return is not always seen but if you watch for it you can see it. Motives are important however. The motive is compassion for the person of interest. I know I'm preaching now so I will stop.
  7. Good News!!!
  8. Agreed, I have 12 trailers. It is constant maintenance on 1 or the other of them, you are right, LED sucks less!
  9. Anyone wanting to help Vinsott recover some tackle, you can stop by Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers and purchase a gift card in his name. It is listed under Chris Sottilaro (Vinsott is his forum name). They have a file for his gift cards that they will give to him. If you want to mail it, you can mail check made out to Hook, Line and Sinker to 98 W. Locust st, Rogers Ar 72756, memo it is for Chris Sottilaro and they will apply it to his gift card account. I did not ask but you may be able to call and put on credit/debit card as well. As most of us would be, Vinsott was reluctant to accept help, however he is very appreciative that people would help a stranger. He did not want checks made out to him because he wanted everyone to be assured that he was spending it on what it was given for, tackle. Thanks to all who are helping and for those who cannot at this time, there will always be opportunity in the future to help other people.
  10. I will have Vinsotts address or other directions by the end of the day on where to send the funds. You could also buy a gift card from a tackle shop or sporting goods store and place in envelope. I have had a couple of private messages from people that want to give towards this as well. Thanks to all who are considering giving. We would all reply the same way Vinsott replied because it goes against our nature to receive gifts from strangers. It also goes against our nature to give gifts to strangers. However, it is rewarding to both parties. There is no pressure or guilt on anyone who does not give at this time. I am sure you have helped in other ways at other times.
  11. Unless someone has a better idea or address to mail to.
  12. That's what I was thinking. We should drop off checks to Hook, line and sinker. Who knows them personally that can talk to them, or I can but don't know them well. What is his name for checks?
  13. I will donate the 1st $25.00 to help Vinsott get some rod, reels and tackle back. Anybody want to join me? I don't personally know him but sharing the burden is always good.
  14. That's what I noticed. Don't get me wrong, that's a big striper but I would trade it for all those lanterns.
  15. The older I get, the more these things hurt when I hear of them. But there will come a day when all the tears will be wiped away.
  16. When I bought my first boat, 40 years ago, on first trip out, I decided to start motor before loading boat. I accidently drifted from the dock and could not get the motor started. As I watched and yelled at him, a guy stole 2 brand new rod and reels and all my tackle out of my truck. There should be a special justice for people like that, administered by fisherman.
  17. Thanks for ending that thread. I keep up with Salty Cajun Forumn and its gets pretty rough on there. I think they allow the drama to go way to far in order to keep activity going. Life has enough tension and we don't need to add it to our fishing escapes. Love your "interests" . Keep up the good work!

I see...  don't use this very often so your comment probably would have gone unnoticed.  Thanks!  I started the forum with pretty strict rules and have tried to stay consistent through the years.  I think OAF members is better for it.

  18. Welcome, Warning, never take my advice.
  19. There is a lot of talk about this world getting worse but I see a lot of better kids than when I was a kid and I see some amazing young men standing up and being great Dads and Husbands, Mothers and Wives!
  20. I would be willing to ride with Lance so he could legally keep more crappie (at least for a few trips). "Hey, what's that bulky thing in your pocket"? "Sorry Lance, I didn't remember that gps was still in my pocket".
  21. The last thing that I could be busted for is too many fish. Now, if they had a 1 fish minimum that must be caught each time you fished, I would get lots of fines.
  22. As soon as those girls get big enough to fish, you will have it made. You can tell your wife "Honey, I'm gonna go spend some time with the girls today". Bam!!! On the water and getting points for it.
  23. Nice fish, good memories for life. I mounted a bunch of them when I was a taxidermist. Fun to paint, not so much fun to handle. They can make you bleed long after they are dead.
  24. I grew up in a south Texas, saltwater fishing culture and bass were not a part of it. If was NEVER thought of to throw a legal fish back, regardless of what kind it was. We lived on fish, deer, wild hog, javelina, birds and frog legs. We did not waste but we did not return to live another day either. Took me years to get over that and start releasing fish. Also, helps that I don't like the taste of bass as much as I do Flounder And speckled trout.
