  1. Now this is a true taney county story.I dont remember the names but I do remember the circumstances. years ago there was a gentleman in southern taneycounty line close to Branson who ended up with an african lion cub.I personaly played with it on the parts counter of the store I managed.I was married and lived also close to thid residence, I t was and still is very rural. One day we where called and told of horses that had got out of this gentlemans farm.As my wife and I cruised the lanes looking for horses, we saw, and this is still very vivid in my mind, 6 horses walking down the middle of the road with a full sized african lion herding them from behind and the lions owner in a pickup following behind that.It looked like an oversized pet parade. And no I didnt have a camera.......................................................or a beer in my hand
  2. lake looks good, creeks gettin a needed wash out.I personaly like beaver a little lower but its like fishing a differant creek every year.
  3. Poor guy tried to use a public forumn \\\\\\........///////
  4. havent anyone of you tried to keep a client. This is in no way a disrespectful quote, but a factual questioned statement
  5. I dont know you but dont leave.I dont have much to give, but im here, like it or not.Every last one of us has the same thing going for us.We love to fish and have moderate typing skills.Have a great day my friend
  6. I dont think the third monkey was drunk, I think he was just showin off,He did have a nice car though
  7. hey dutch, parden me for interupting, 30 years ago bull shoals was great for whites.I was there.Thats where i learned of this incredible fish.Id say things would have to change miraculusly to do any good.I am a crappie fisherman but I do love to chase the whites. The spawn in spring was very good to me and my young son last year as we caught many and many big fish. But during the summer months I found very very few.On the upside I caught more big crappie then I ever have.I am confident the whites are gathering up and are waiting for those first 65 to 70 degree days that we dream of to make a run for it.I read a post the other day on here telling of shad by the thousands running banks below powersite, I would think where these are those whites would be lurking , but maybe not.And Dutch I like the name cause thats what his friends used to call my father when I was a kid.
  8. A catholic, a lutheran, and an modot worker went fishin
  9. why do fish make spawning runs?just cause they are introduced species to the lake , dont mean they dont have the spawning urge.Even if the eggs dont hatch it doesnt mean they dont go through the actions.I personaly believe viable spawning exists in bull shoals.Maybe not on a grand scale but I cant beleive all fish are hatchery introduced. The thing I believe that hinders fish most of all are the widely varying water levels.Last spring the lake was very low, this year it will be high. Some beds may be dry before hatch. Also as much as I love fishing in spring, hundreds of folks lining up to slay spawning white bass, seem to me to be hurting the future of the fish.I know several statements of life long fishing have been made and I remember camping on kdock and catching whites every morning and evening , like clockwork as there was thousands of them there.I havent seen large schools of whites, in several years now. This is a very agreesive and fast growing fish, are we thinning them out too much?
  10. I must say I feel like the indian on the commercial watchin the trash blow by.I love the Branson trilakes area.I have lived here 43 years and have seen it grow from its roots.I know people get tired of hearing the complaints, after all, we have invited all these friends to our home.I agree with mallard in that we all should be more effective stewards of the land. The lakes are changing, in both use and quality. When I was younger you fished long creek till 11 am not because of the onslaught of boats but because thats when the wind got unbearable. When you fished taneycomo the only thing more exciting then the huge rainbows and steelhead was jumping the wake behind the lakequeen with your dads starcraft.FIshing bull shoals was an enjoyable time as it was seemingly undiscovered by most of the fisherman. My oh my do times change. When I was younger we had well water and I never doubted it till high school geology and spelunking classes.Boy was that a wakeup.Have you ever seen well casing in a cave? Or seen sewage running down the wall of a cavern.WE have done so much damage to the trilakes area it will never be pristine again. All we can do is try to stop additional problems.I always say , pick up cause companys coming.

  13. Dano, I had expierience in Branson, I worked in gated community, very near Branson landing. Now this was several years ago.The well water there was so sulfer smelling you couldnt stand to wash your hands in it.Showers in my shop where not used because who wanted to smell worse leaving then entering.I dont know that the sulfer always comes from animal waste, poss human waste.I know powersite dam tailwater side stinks of sewage on warm days when flow is low.We are killing our God given earth. With the incredible amount of people , both living and visiting I dont think we are doing a good enough job protecting our home.If you look at the city website, they are constantly looking for help at the water treatment and sewer plants, whats going on.I hope they know what they are doing down there and arent just grabbing folks that are not eco friendly and just drawing a wage.
  14. Hey tight line.Intersting report .I am wondering about these shad.I have honsetly never seen concentrations like that this time of year.I am sure the water flow has a lot to do with it , but do you think this will influance walleye fishing in the near future. Are they stacked in eddys or just bank shallows>?I have caught many crappie in cold weather, did I say cold, i mean frigid weather down there and I believe with concentrations of shad and with sluggish fish movements in cold water this ought to be a smorgasbord for them.I love fishing down there but just cant get excited about that cold water barrelin over the dam right now, it seems to soak me very fast.Keep us informed on any future news and maybe ill venture out that direction.

Sorry for the questions but Phil is right , short sleeve weather has been a little slack lately. Also I want to know has all the brush removal below the dam helped or hurt the fishing on the forsyth side of the dam?Maybe it has done some good, huh.
