  1. I lucked out this morning with the wind. Didn't start blowing till noonish.
  2. Jumped out of bed at 6:00 this morning, grabbed the fly rod and ran out the door. Got to work about a hour early so I could make a few cast. Sun was just starting to make its way up. I had tied a few micro jigs the night before. Made a few cast in the small pond where I work and landed a few small bass and perch. Decided to hop over to the creek nearby and on my first cast landed this girl. Good way to start the morning.
  3. My old 8th grade teacher. Way to go Mr. Glover.
  4. I love fishing below the darn when they got 3-4 units rolling. Seem to always catch some good quality fish. U guys caught some good looking fish. Great report and photos. Thought the underwater pics were pretty neat.
  5. Great report guys! Sounds like the poles were bending Saturday. I just started throwing the 1/32 jigs a little over a year ago. Game changer on them slow to no flow areas. And congrats on your rainbow Ham.
  6. You can also look on the website. Supremeboats.com. You can choose from a Shawnee or a Supreme and have them customize your boat for you.
  7. Thanks guys! Fished from White Hole Resort down to Wildcat shoals where we stayed. Seen quite a few browns in the 20-26 inch range hanging to the bottom.
  8. Been itching to get back to the river the last few months. Just started pouring, painting and tying my own marabou jigs and couldn't wait to see how they perform. Got out Friday morning with frigid temps and a frosty boat. While everyone was still asleep, I took the chance for a little alone time. Started out with a 1/16 oz olive and ginger and started catching trout. I was happy to see that my jigs performed well. Started out catching small bows and decided to go hunt for the big boys. Motored up the river and made my cast next to a big log. Right away I got hit and felt nothing but shoulders. Didn't have my drag where it needed to be and I broke off. I knew I had lost a good one. So I re-tied another olive and ginger and made my drift. Got down to a dock with a deep hole behind it. Made my cast and off he went, pulling drag and 2lb line. After two good jumps he started to wear down. So I reached for my net, but it wasn't there. I had left it at the house. So after two attempts by hand, I got him into the boat. He measured 22 1/2 inches. No better feeling than catching that trout on your own handmade jigs. Took a few pics, showed him to the kids and released him. He swam off with no problems. Even with a windy weekend and the trolling motor kicking my tail, we caught lots of trout both days. Couple more browns at 16 inches and even a couple of cuttys. All in all it was a good trip.
  9. Ham, as far as I know he hasn't tried the River Runner rod, at least none of mine. If I ever get him to lay down the Loomis for a second so that he can demo my RR, I think he would be happy with it.
  10. I jig fish with a 6'8" ULF River Runner. I ended up buying a couple of them last year because I thought they worked pretty well for small marabou jigs. I was looking to buy another one for a friend, but couldn't find one anywhere. Then I noticed Fenwick came out with a new series of River Runner rods the first of September. Only thing I can see that is different then the first series is that they offer them in a few different lengths and raised the price by about $20. I really like fishing with these rods, but like u said, they are a little soft. Still a great rod. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on a Loomis TSR 791S for my next rod purchase. Great fishing report by the way. I was on the White last Friday. Let my 7 year old boy skip school for a day of fishing with his ole man. We caught plenty of fish on the minimum flow water. No big fish, but we had a great time. Think the biggest was a 15 inch brown my son caught on a Zig Jig. Even ran into my ole farmer buddy on the water.

    Jig Rod

It's gonna b hard to get that G Loomis SR 720 out of his hand. He loves those rods, and I'll give him credit when I say he can rip the lips off those trout. Hopefully one of these days I'll get a Dorber in my hand and see what it's all about.

    Jig Rod

Thanks Ham. Yeah, my farmer buddy did a walk through at the ole boys place in Flippin that makes the Dorber rods. He didn't have any on hand for jig fishing. He's supposed to give JP a call when he gets some ready.

    Jig Rod

Ok guys, I jig fish with a Fenwick Ellite Tech River Runner. It's 6'8 ultra light with a fast tip, 2pc. Love the rod, no problems and it performs great for my likings. Got a few of them. Been looking at the G Loomis GL2 720S Trout jig series. Anyone jig fish with this rod and do u like it? Also, anyone else throw the River Runner?
  14. You got me. I landed him in a small trout stream in upper Montana on a piece of kern, lol. I'm pretty sure that guy went through a 5 gallon bucket of corn that morning. Everytime I looked over at him he was making it rain. Figured we would have caught some pole benders with all his illegal chumming going on.
  15. Took a little weekend trip with a few buddies of mine up to the White River last weekend. We decided to run up to the Norfork River one morning and fish it for a few hours. It was new waters for me, but I had a good farmer buddy show me the ropes. He was fishing in another boat ahead of me. We floated down from the darn ramp and fished about a mile and a half of the river. The dock hole I guess you could call it. My first brown on the Norfork. 22 incher. The fishing was a little tough that morning, but I got a feeling I'll be back.
