  1. Hey there. I am planning on doing a kayak trip next Saturday on the huzzah or courtois and was wondering what would be a good stretch to fish/float? Will be fly fishing and my buddy spin fishing. Would like to do the courtois but would do the huzzah of course... will be stopping to fish a lot. I was wondering what is the earliest we could get on the river? Trying to shoot for 6am if possible. Would probably call huzzah or bass on that huh. LOL. Thank you.
  2. I hit up the current last weekend near van Buren. Caught some smallies on chartuesse rooster tails and on the fly rod with black and olive BH woolies. Caught more goggle eye though...

  4. I can't speak for down to doniphan but I was in van Buren last weekend and chartuesse rooster tails worked. Also black woolies on the fly rod. I was fishing both along the bank.
  5. I am going down to the current Van Buren area this weekend and with the water being up was wondering what patterns you guys would suggest. Was thinking of starting deep with a crayfish pattern or clouser. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!!
  6. I am going down to the current for my bachelor party the second week in April and am wondering what would be the best float to take for smallies this time of year. I will be primarily fly fishing but bringing along spin/bait casting setups for those who don't want to fly fish. I have never been to this part of the river before. Cool streams!!!
  7. I was thinking of heading down to huzzah conservation area this weekend and was wondering how the creeks were looking/fishing? Thanks
  8. I was there today. The rain kept most people away but the trout didn't mind it. Black Woolly Buggers worked well so did an elk hair caddis with a zebra midge dropper.
  9. The egg patterns worked well along with copper johns
  10. I am going to Montauk tomorrow and am going to try Tan Vat for the first time. Any suggestions on what's working this time of year? Was planning on starting with bwo's or possibly streamers. Also might hit up little piney at 63 bridge. Never been there either. Thanks!!!
