I have been finding some on the flats near sharp drop offs in about 25-30 ft of water. Also brushpiles in same depth on the flats.

Caught a variety of all bass today in 15 to 17 fow using pumpkin pit boss with 1/4 oz tungsten. Fish are concentrated on sides of main lake points on the outside of the brush line. Find the green top bushes and fish outside of them. Caught around 8 quality fish in 2 hours this afternoon.

Caught 12 nice spots today from 2-4 pm in 7-10 foot of water. 2 were about 18 in. long. Water temp was 51 degrees with ripples on the water. Caught all on 4" watermelon pit boss with black flakes. All fish had bloody mouths and some had bloody gill plates. Five Fingers area. This post has been promoted to an article

Thought I would share my fishing experiences for the last two weeks with others so I may be of use to them. I mostly fished from Sugarloaf to down past 5 fingers areas. The better fish I found(mostly spots and a few largemouth) were staged on major points in 10-15ft of water. Deep in the underwater bushes. Be prepared to lose a few and get hung up regularly! I caught many spots in the 2-3 lb range. Using 18llb flourocarbon and 10.5" worms. It seemed the bigger the worm, the better the fish. Not all major points held fish only the most extreme ones. Had a blast and caught tons of fish! Also, can anyone tell me what type of bass the 2nd picture is?

I just thought it was a little different with the horizontal bars on the belly.

Bill thank you so much for your detailed report. I for one appreciate the information. I live in Texas and have a home on Five Fingers. I don't get up there as often as I would like and information like this is very helpful in getting on track when I do get to go. I try to report any info that I may learn and pass it on. Patterns seem to change very quickly there and it does take me some time to figure them out when I do get to go. I may be wrong but I thing a person can give out general info to be helpful without giving away the farm. If a fisherman is somewhat skilled he will be able to that that info and locate fish. Hopefully there are not too many meat hunters out there. I enjoy fishing B.S. because of the very few boats that I encounter during the day.

I believe the numbers in the Lead Hill area are less than last year but, while fishing on the upper end past Diamond City 2 weeks ago, I saw what looked like larvae or early stage mussels on the backs of dead zebra shells. Looks like they are beginning to bloom again. Brinson

Yesterday was my last day on the water. We caught over 40 smallmouth in a little over 3 hrs yesterday afternoon. My son caught the largest at 3.5 lbs. Fish were on the outside of the brush in open water about 10 ft deep. Swimbaits, and 3" Rodents. Caught several 3 to 4 lb smallmouth in the last 2 weeks. Caught one spot over 4 lbs. Brinson

I don't keep any Smallies. Just a few walleye.

I was on the lake also during all the bad weather. I had to force myself to go out in some very windy cold days. Boy was I glad I did! I had several very good days. Not many largemouths though. I caught a lot of spots and smallies. Caught a 4-1/4 lb spot(the largest I've caught on this lake) and several smallies over 3 lbs. Ham is right as location was everything.

Just got back from a week of fishing Buck Creek and Five Finger area. Very slow during the day but fishing at night was very good. Caught most of the fish on finesse type baits with splitshots on main lake points after dark.

Is the high water launch still open at Diamond City?

Going up Friday. Let's hear some good news.

Isn't the high water ramp at Diamond City still open? It was last Sunday.

The bite was better early up till about 9 am. I tried late and had limited success.

Just returned from a week and 1/2 of fishing five fingers and buck creek area. Caught a lot of nice smallmouth and walleyes mostly on main lake points in 20-25 ft of water. Best results were drifting with creature and crawfish baits keeping the bait on the bottom.

High water ramp open in Diamond City
Brinson replied to Diamond City Fisher's topic in Upper Bull Shoals
I launched at Tucker Hollow about a week ago and it is open. Be careful of underwater obstacles.
