Put in bout 6:30 and fished til bout 11. Caught probably 15 or so and had couple smallies that might have kept. Most were on the small side though. Ned and tube and couple on a spoon. Water temp 80-81 and 10-12 ft clarity. Most in probably 10-15 fow and out to 20-25 fow.

If get out early enough may be a topwater bite. Just posted my report from yesterday...wish it was a better one haha

Fished for a few hours yesterday evening. Water looked good with 6-7 ft of clarity. Surface temps were mid 80s. Caught 6-7 with a couple that were just keepers. Both keepers came on Ned. One in bout 6' and other bout 15'. Others were small. Threw Ned, 10" worm , and 7" worm. Tried to cover the 10-25' range with a slow drag. Had several bites on 10" worm but couldn't seem to get hooked up, so tried 7" and had few less bites but still didn't get hooked up. good luck on the water

Nice job! Yeah, I've been spoiled this spring. I was overdue for a tough day. My "bad" outings had been 10-12 fish. To only catch 5 in a few hours really isn't that bad, especially since it was so comfortable out. As my dad would say the fishing was great, but the catching not so much.

Fished from 5:30-8:30 and it was tough. Water had little more color to it, only 3-4 ft visibility. Tried little by of everything it seemed and ended with 5 and only 1 keeper. 3 on Ned and 2 on baby brush hog. Water temp around 75.

I didn't find water that clear, but some areas probably have 5-6 ft of clarity from what I saw. Some little more stain. As for the red fin, I use what Cordell calls smokey joe color. I was using the jointed version and just throw it out and feel it in. They don't dive reel deep and have a pretty wide side to side action. There's info on here I believe about modifying them to wake more, but I've never done that. They probably work little better in clearer water as they can draw fish up from deeper and work well around standing timber. Lot of fun to fish as they can get some pretty viscious and visible strikes.

Fished yesterday from 9-4. Thought fish would be in the bushes but didn't find much there. Had couple on baby brush hog but that's it. Then started throwing the Ned and did alright. Caught bout 20 or so and 5-6 keepers. Lost a couple decent keepers otherwise not much size wise. No real pattern. Caught fish in 2-15 fow. Some off bushes, docks, gravel, points. Fish seemed to be scattered. Did also catch a 3lb flathead. Water temp 75-76 and some trash floating but not enough to cause problems. Today fished from 6-10. Thought would be a good topwater bite but there wasn't and overall was slow. Caught 10 but did have 5 keepers that would go bout 11lbs. One spook, two Redfin, and two baby brush hog. Had a few Ned fish too. Water temp 74-75.

Looking to go to shell knob tomorrow. Anyone happen to know if 39 is clear from Aurora? There's a creek or two along the way and dont want to head that way and find water over the road the hard way.

Just looked it up and January 1, 1984 is cut off for the certification in MO. I wouldn't mind seeing that date pushed back a ways. Would like to think there's a lot of 30-40 year old people who are purchasing their first boats since can finally afford it and just don't have a clue the ins and outs of owning and running a boat. Then throw in the fact that common courtesy is becoming a thing of the past...
-
Actually there is a required certification to drive a boat in Missouri. Only have to get it if born after a certain year, and I don't know what that date is, but am sure there are many people who have no clue they are supposed to have it. It's all done online though and can open a couple tabs online and look up all the answers to the test questions...I was just lucky to have someone truly teach me how to properly drive a boat safely in addition to the certification

Fished from 7-3. Caught 25-30 with most being LM and few spots mixed in. Started on main lake gravel bank which eventually transitioned into bluff bank. Caught a few after couple hours but nothing consistent so made a run and started fishing bushes and shallow cover in cuts and coves. Most fish were on outside edge of slightly deeper bushes. Caught most on baby brush hog and few Ned fish. Probably had 6-8 keepers with nothing too big. Best five probably 9-10lbs. Water temp 72-73 and 4-6ft of clarity. Good luck on the water.

Fished from bout 6-2 yesterday. Had about 30 or so with probably bout 10 keepers. Nothing big, probably 10-11lbs best 5. Caught mostly LM this trip. Had a few spots and couple smallies. Fish came on Ned, baby brush hog, and spinnerbait. Found some fish up shallow around the bushes on outside edges. Don't know if males protecting fry or if they were up feeding on minnows and bluegill. Also had few fish out deeper too. Water temp 69-70 and clarity 4-5 ft. Good luck to all fishing the big bass this weekend!

Topwater probably will get good soon! We didn't see any fish on beds.

Well the old man made it down to fish with me and I taught him all about the Ned rig...which I learned from OAF. Fished from 12:30-7 yesterday. Started in aunts and fished around docks and caught a few but nothing special and not a consistent bite. So headed out and down towards mill creek area to spot had found some fish few weeks ago. Wind was blowing around this point and right away we found fish in 15-18 fow on the point and in this cut on the good old Ned. We ended day with about 60 fish and about 25 keepers. Probaby 75% of our fish were spots, but also had 5-6 nice smallies in the 17-19" range. Would say best 5 went 12.5-13lbs. Today went over to Indian point to fish with our bud. Wasn't much wind and we started with the Ned and caught several. Then I picked up a Redfin and caught a nice smallie. Then we were back in a cut and some fish started to break the surface out in the middle so caught several of those. on the Redfin. Fished from bout 6-11:30 and the three of us probably caught around 40 and probably had 10 keepers or so and best 5 around 11-12lbs. Probably had another 5-6 keeper smallies. Most came on the Ned with 6-8 on the Redfin. Fish came from 8-25 fow. Good luck and be safe out there next few days with potential for storms.

Got out for a few hours yesterday afternoon. Bright and sunny with water temp around 62-63. Went into little Indian and fished around shade of docks and then out in 15-18 fow. Caught around 15 on the Ned with 2 keepers, maybe another couple that would have measured. Water clarity around 16-18ft. Good luck to all his weekend.

Fished from bout 4-8. Water temp 61-62. Caught 30-40 all on Ned. Had a dozen keepers or so. Nothing real big, maybe had 10-11lbs with best 5. Found fish in 2-10 fow on gravel banks. Had little pattern of back corners of docks and then under dock cables. Also caught some on secondary points and between docks and couple behind docks. Probably 3:1 ratio spots to largemouths. All the fish looked healthy and pre spawn. Only had one spot that had little red starting on tail. I didn't go more that maybe half way back in cuts. Did talk to a guy that said he was in the back of one and saw beds everywhere and lots of small males but not a lot of females so sounds like a major wave is coming up. Good luck on the water.

Got out for few hours this evening with my bud who has a place there. We caught bout 30-35 with maybe 4-5 keepers. Not a lot of size but most were smallies which we like! 12-20 fow on the Ned and couple on a tube. Didn't catch them all over, found a couple spots that accounted for majority of our fish. Water temp around 59. Good luck to all this weekend.
-
Fished from bout 6:30-10. Had 15-20 with maybe 4-5 keepers. Most on ned in 5-8 fow. Water temp was 59-61. Was slow to start until wind picked up a bit and cloud cover moved in. Most on ned and once wind picked up caught couple nice spots on swimbait. Was definitely a different bite than yesterday. The front and change in wind had them little finicky. They weren't really eating the Ned well. Several were barely hooked and had several get off. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

I was using pearl. Think I have a package of that color too. I don't know if ones better than other, think the key is a shad color.

Was able to get out this morning before had to head to work. Had a rough start but made the best of a bad situation. Put in just after 7 and couldn't get my motor started...dead cranking battery evidently. So got on the trolling motor...not much juice. Evidently one or both batteries didn't charge enough overnight. But there wasn't much wind and I had enough power to work with so just started down the bank. Started fishing the reliable ned and it didn't let me down. Fished little more that 2 hrs and caught 20 in probably 5-10 fow. Only 2-5 keepers probably but several nice 12"-15" spots. Don't know water temps cause didn't turn graph on. Made it back to ramp just in time as little storm and some lightning came in so knew it was time to go!

No problem guys. Least I can do is give my report for all the info have gotten from others off here. The minnow is super durable. Caught bout 10 on the one and it's still in great condition. I probably should have backed off bank some being blue sky's but was catching fish which is all I care about haha. Past couple trips have done well catching spots off backs of docks so thats where I caught several of my fish.
