    Since we're on the topic of swimbaits....what is the difference between a swimbait and a swimjig? I know what the difference is to humans but what does it matter to the fish if you put it at the right depth and move it at the right speed. I suspect it is just another way for tackle companies to sell more stuff. Why have both when one will work?

    I guess I don't open this topic very often and I don't know what possessed me to open it now. Last October I retired from my job and moved back to Iowa where my family is. The bass are plentiful and stupid here!

    Another question please.....there are 2 black wires,1 red, and 1 orange at the back of the boat where the batteries are. At the bow receptacle the same, 2 black, one red, and one orange. However, the 4 prong plug that goes to the old TM only has ONE black, one red, and one orange. Why only ONE black??? Thank you for helping a confused fisherman!

    I just read this today. It is funny as that "old man in a pond prowler" was me! In the summer I flipped a finesse jig or a tube in the brush piles. Also, a tube or a worm along the old channel drop. Stay away from the brush that is near the fishing jetty because its full of broken off fishing line. The biggest bass I caught there was just shy of 5 pounds. Lots of 12-16 inches. This lake was just 15 minutes from my house so I fished it a lot, and I enjoyed listening to the quail as I fished!

    I have a 95 Basstracker Pro 18 with a 12/24 volt Motorguide. This trolling motor needs replaced. I want to install a 12v 55 pound thrust Min Kota. I have had this motor before and love it and it will provide all the power I need. The Motorguide has a 12 or 24 switch on the foot pedal. The plug is 4 prong. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to make this switch? Can I just remove one of the batteries and run all four wires to one battery, or what? Thank you in advance for any help!
