I spun the hub on my 1972 40 hp johnson. I'm unsure on the diameter pretty sure it's a 12 pitch prop and it's a straight shafts with a shear pin drive. If anyone has a used one they would part with I am in need of one. Trying to not have to get a brand new one. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks
She likes night fishing because she enjoys being out when the lakes quiet. She has fished overnight with me since she was 3 or 4. We normally do well at pomme but the lakes so dirty this year the lights almost have no effect. She would like bluegill too but we have always tried crappie. I'm just very surprised I've been out 3 times at Stockton and still no crappie at all. Caught catfish and 1 walleye last week. Just hoping for some specific tips but we will have fun either way. And bored or not she fishes more patient than some adults I know. ☺
So I have dropped lights 3 times around mile long bridge looking for crappie or eyes. I've had bait balls and still got zip. I limited out at pomme most of last summer doing the lights but this year has been very different. I'm taking my 7 year old daughter tomorrow night she loves night fishing but I would like some fish this time. I have no electronics on the boat currently so general areas or ideas would be appreciated. Stockton has beaten me more than I've got fish from it. I know that it's just knowing the lake so help me out guys.
Twin coves fish structure 10 ft deep or less. stay out of the wind blown stuff if possible it makes fishing nearly impossible especially if just learning. Probably easiest thing is a float with split shot and gold crappie hook using live minnows. Sometimes a jig works fished this way but not my preference. Move depth around from probably 18 inches under to ...... well depends on the day. From bolivar landing go straight across the lake to point watch the depth on left side twin coves is on the left side. Lots of trees just keep moving till you find them.
Found a helix hummingbird 409640-1 is the model # seems to have everything I'm looking for plus some. Might be a winner. It's 499$ but seems like it's a great buy.
I'm shopping so those of you who have some newer tech. On your boats who crappie fish a lot what will benefit me most? Side or down doubt I can swing the $$$$ for a combo unit but I'm looking for real world suggestions. You guys on here are real as it gets.
It's always location...lol I just don't hear of many fishing after dark this early in the year. If it's working it's easily my favorite time to fish lake gets peaceful...
