  2. Very good info, thanks
  3. Now thats good stuff....i should be back down in two weeks. I'm bringing two guys from work, non fishermen, should be a hoot. Only from 5-7 to 5-11. Thats if the lake is still ok then. Well, i type this from flat land USA and cant wait to get back! See ya all soon.
  4. Well, we are picking up the condo and headed out this morning. Little C is disappointed but maybe a tenderloin at Smiths in Boliver will help. You all take care and hope to be back very soon.
  5. We are seeing quite a few lg mouth behind docks in 10 ish foot. Bucks around the beds, running each other off. Then big momma will swim up, check it out and slowly swim off. Fun to watch.
  6. Yep, that was us. Didn't think a thing about the wardrobe, nice day for no shirt on the lake. I also had seen some shad in various parts of that cut. Must have had somethimg to do with the better than average bite/ catch ratio in that area. Hope to see out today. We head back tomorrow (Saturday ) mornimg. My son and i have to work monday anyway.
  7. We have a red/black Skeeter TZX 200. My boy and i were up front and my wife was in the back. That area we were in was really on fire. Spent several hours thereand didnt burn 5 gal of gas all day!
  8. Another good day. We did a couple things different. Fished long streches of banks close to main lake points. These banks had fist size chunk rock on them that i took pictures of before the water came up. We fished the "normal" shore line which was about 6-8 foot out as best we could tell. Pitched a pbj jewel finesse jig with a UV craw. Once the jig fell off the natural first rock ledge, hold on. Several (20-30) shorts, then when we came to flooded bushes we pitched right to the bush/shore line. Large mouths were in the bushes and we ended up with 7 keepers. All were about 3-3 1/2 lbs on our scale which is pretty accurate. On the point itself we did not sit out on it and cast to the bank as we saw a ton of boats doing. Instead we stayed on each side of the point itself in about 30 plus water and cast parallel to the point where it dropped off into deeper water. Kip and i were on the front deck and it worked well. One of us would be 3-5 foot deeper than the other but covered the "sides" of the points well. Caught a lot of short fish, mostly small mouth but picked up a few (3) more keeper kentuckies which were like footballs, ready to explode. My son caught a bunch of short smallies on the ned as well. Probably one of the best "number" days we have had yet this year. Nothing on a spinnerbait in the flooded bushes, Lord knows we tried! Nothing on the swimbait either today. The gentleman in the new 521 (?)Ranger with the G2 and Ultrex (i think) gorgeous boat and hope you did as well as us. Sorry for the long post, different stuff worked for us and wanted to share as much detail as i could. Take care.

  11. Very cool, thanks
  12. Thanks Champ, good info. I just looked a little too early at the 45 degree banks... Schmidty- I've been coming down for years with guys from work, yearly deal for a week. Anyway, the water is as clear as I've ever seen it. Pretty cool for a guy used to Iowa mud hole fishin. I know it's said often but thanks to all who share info, makes time on the water more productive and learning new techniques (Champ) is priceless! Mike-thanks for the info as well. We found a couple more areas like you mentioned, bingo. Motoman-hope i sent the right message to the kids. I tread lightly since not down here full time yet, don't want to make enemies. Firm but fair has worked (mostly) for 30 plus years, lets hope so anyway. Who knows, i may need their help someday. Thanks
  13. Got out for a couple hrs before golf. We hit pea/snall gravel banks and found them pretty well. My son caught 18-20, lost count, four keeper smallies and several close kentuckies. I caught 5 with one large mouth keeper. The lg mouth came at the back of a small cur, in the center of it. The cut was 17 ft deep and we could make a long cast to each pea gravel bank while staying in the middle of the cut. We threw swinbaits, rock crawler, shakey head w/craw. Caught every one on the Ned. They were in 10-12 foot and around beds i believe. Although we didn't fish beds, when the wind would lay down in could see beds in that depth. I didnt see fish locked on just cruising close to the beds. I also spoke to the young men memtioned by Ben fishing around the Indian Point Marina. They were respectful but kinda in a "Eddie Haskel" way. An Indian Point Police Officer and marina employee responded as well. The young men were told where they could fish and to make sure they measured their fish. They admitted to being the ones there a few weeks ago. Again, they were respectful so lets hope all will be ok with that.
  14. Good info, thanks. We golf in the early afternoon.
  15. Vernon, Ledge Stone? It's close to us by Branson West. My son found it.
  16. The bucks and females were behind large community style docks and did look to be lg mouths. They kinda looked bewildered, not on the beds but within 3 foot of them.
  17. Tried more of 45 degree banks today. Didnt fish pee gravel, more small to fist size chunk rock. Looked to keep the boat on 25-30 foot within a cast to the bank. Thought we may find some staged deeper. Looked for transition type banks from chunk to slighhly smaller.
  18. Saw several bucks around beds. A few large female 3' deeper than the beds. Didn't fish them but they were sure were not locked on, around the imdian point marina area.
  19. Thanks Mike!
  20. Adjusting? To my fishing prowess, got schooled today.
  21. Started out good, one keeper smally and two shorts in 15 min. Then......got humbled. Nothing else!!!!!! Ned caught those three then about one thousand cast later we surrendered. Guess we should have have stayed out for 1001 but the view from the condo is priceless. Golf tomorrow. Hope you all are catching them! It's all good.....be safe.
  22. Got out at 1 and fished untill 5:30 around indian point. We caught 4 on a big bite cane thumper swimbait white w/black flake. 3 on a pbj ned. 3 on a rock crawler..only 4 were keepers, 3 small mouth and 1 kentucky. All came in 12-14 foot with the boat in 25 foot. I had several more come unbuttoned on the swimbait until i figured out my hook set was pretty sissyfied. James-Kip said you would have been embarrassed until i got it finally got it squared away. James this James that.....adopt that kid!!! We had fun, most came on a seemingly nothing banks but we found some points when the water was lower that were pea gravel. They had about 6 foot of water on them now. There was a creek channel that ran by them that was about 16-25 feet deep. Most of the larger ones were staged in the creek at the back of pockets just off/adjacent to the gravel points. All these pockets were within eyesite of the main creek arms. Hope that makes some sence. We will be in a red and black TZX200 Skeeter, stop by if your out and about. Good luck to all!! Chris/Michelle and Christopher.
  23. Very cool!
  24. We're headed down tomorrow, good luck to all and post some pics!
