You should see how much slime a gar can make, ALL the water turns to slime, it's crazy !
I have noticed that light is a huge factor for what I do, I just haven't broke the winter code for daily success. I know it sounds strange but overcast days are my toughest. Probably because the fish are suspend all over the lake with the shad (as mentioned above) and not on the structure that I tend to fish.
I love it when we are hashing it out, good stuff, I always learn a lot.
I like a little chop on the water, I like to set the boat on the lee-wind side of the point or bank right on the edge of the slack water, then throw into the wind, but I am after a fish of a different color.
Or just throw a spoon all over the lake until some dumb fish hits it. That works too.
