  1. I wasted the day fishing deep. I started throwing a jerk bait up on the bank, and this nice walleye gave my jerk bait a nibble, it was just enough for a hook-up. I could not find another walleye to save my life. My jerk bait was probably moving to fast after this one.
  2. Down near Mustang camp ground. Maybe you don't remember?
  3. Hey Chief remember b bluff? Even after the parking area along the bluff got turned into a ditch, people just continued to trash the place. I haven't been there in many years wonder what it looks like now?
  4. I was you know, on my point. I fished south of Aldrige all the way to the dam friday. Got no love, I almost messaged you in the morning to see if you were going. I was happy to be on the water. 1 bass in 45 feet of water on a dead stick who'd thunk it. I wanted that walleye ! but hey somebody got one and that is awesome !
  5. I sure hope so, that is an old story in my area, but what I do know is many of the creek accesses in the area got fenced in what seemed like the same day. I drove over spring river today near Carthage, I guess people were living/ camping north of the bridge, it looks like a trash dump ! I feel bad for the land owner there and all who are down stream. I love having access to the creeks and rivers, and I agree that they should leave access open to all of us, but somehow people need to clean up after themselves ! I have to ask myself what would I do if I owned creek access that was covered in trash every summer day? I might add my kids and I spent much of our lives fishing many creek in my area, and I owned a fencing company for 10 yrs. This problem came up a lot. I wish there was a good answer. It would be tough to police all the party spots, low water bridges and creek access. I leave nothing behind when I come off the water.
  6. That is awesome but I am jealous, I fished friday, the water was 42 near the dam. I did manage a largemouth in 45 feet of water on the bottom in the brush on a swim bait, it was tough for me.
  7. I know many land owner that have a water way through their property, trash, partying, and safety, is the thing that drives all this. I know a man who owns land where a creek runs through his place, it has many large bluffs. Some partier got drunk and decided to try his hand at rock climbing, well it didn't go well, he fell and was severally injured. The injured man was awarded over a million dollars, and about all creek access in that area are as closed as the land owners could make them.
  8. I am sure that he practices C&R he claims the bait will survive multiple catches, I guess I figured that the bait is lip hooked, so the bass leaves the boat in good shape. I guess I didn't really think to ask. As far as the bottom bouncer goes, I have used the walleye type bouncer a lot, at this time I do not recall ever gut hooking any type of fish on one. I am not saying that it wouldn't be possible but I don't think it has ever happened to me. I have caught bass catfish, bluegill, and walleye on a bottom bouncer. I have however hooked several gill plates and eyeballs with treble hooks on various types of lures. Also though they work well those triple grips are wicked. I would like to add that I use a single, usually rotating hook on most of my harnesses This may help save the fish, but that is not the reason I changed, I like the action that it gives the crawler. That is my walleye secret for today.
  9. Probably this, but he is using live bait. It is a chub like fish with a very tough lower lip, which is perfect for a hook and will usually stay in good shape after multiple hook ups. My uncle uses these on a texas rig, they are a pretty large bait. I have a picture of an over 20" smallmouth that his daughter caught on said rig this year. I would post the picture, but I don't have permission.
  10. My uncle has caught some dandies on the rock in the last few weeks. He like to drag a "rock roller" a round. Who know what a rock roller is ? dtrs5kprs thanks for getting me lined out.
  11. ? Sorry duh don't know the jargon
  12. Try Binks. binkspoons.com
  13. I am sorry to here that, and I am sure things will be tough, but someday we will all see the Lord. I am sure that this life will seem short in comparison to eternity. I know that God has a plan. Praying for you
  14. I am planning for April 8-10 barring any major calamity. My hope is to stay at Blackburns. Thanks
  15. palomar works good on the dropshot too.
  16. I didn't understand the need for the knot, what about a good old palomar is it that much tougher to tie on a jig? I use it all the time. I don't watch much fishing TV other than youtubers so I have no idea who this guy is (sorry fishing dude), but he is making a living fishing, so he has my dream job...I think.
  17. I am not sure how this knot performs, but this is entertaining to watch.
  18. That pretty much answers my question, thank you ! I will be making some.
  19. I am no lure expert, but I like ! Want to flip any of those? Several look like Norman cranks
  20. I have the 80 lb xi 5 with spot lock and built in transducer. I bought it not knowing which brand was better, I trusted a friend who fishes the same way that I do who owned both, he said that he would buy another MG when his passes away. That was good enough for me. I will add that I had buyers remorse for weeks, to me they are expensive, but the more I use it, the more I love it the, spot lock will change your life ! If you fish in current or wind I would buy the biggest one you can afford with spot lock. Mine will easily hold my 17 ft deep v in 18 mph wind. I love it ! Good luck, spend the extra if you can for the spot lock
  21. The walleye love to stay under the spots, I think they feed on the wounded
  22. Sorry to hear that, friend. I wish that I could help.
  23. I am not fishing due to the massive amount of work that I have, but a guy can dream...
  24. Throwing the A rig is like throwing a lawn chair around
  25. Nice ! Thanks for the post !
