  1. Was the weather better for ya today?
  2. I hear that's a good time to be out. I'll just have to take their word for it.
  3. Thanks Dan. You learned after an hour. I'm a slow learner. Took me 8 hours. Lol. I hope you whack em tmrw.
  4. Thanks guys for the feedback. Hoping to get back out there this Sunday. I think this time I'm gonna try the top water around the steep points and then back out and try the deeper as the day progresses.
  5. Got in the water by 630. Launched from hickory. Little drizzle so we thought we'd whack em with buzzbaits. Freaken zero. Proceeded up the white trying different spots and just couldn't get bit. Started getting windy so I tried a spinnerbait. Zero! Tried various spots along the white and then war eagle. Caught a couple on a,shakey head around docks. That's about it. Guess they were deeper that day or we just didn't cover enough water. Or the right water. Water temp was between 80-83 with clarity ranging from dirty (way up the river) to light stain at HC. Always good to fish tho. You hear there's always fish shallow. Not where we were.
  6. Lol! That's darn hilarious man. I would've like to been a fly on the wall for that conversation. "What about our anniversary?" The wife says. "It'll be here when I get back." Lance replies.
  7. I'm sorry ryan. I will not be able to commit to the tourneys.
  8. Dan, you are gettin it done! Ain't nothing like time on the water. No rain this wkd and temps in the low 80's=good days. Even better at night. I'm gonna try throwing the spinnerbait Friday night and see if I can catch some of Mike Jones' left overs!
  9. That's great Mike! Hope you have good days up there.
  10. I might be interested. Would the angler be picking the spots and running the front or relying on me to know what im doing? I've got the boat and the gear. The knowledge is sketchy tho. Also, is it just beaver or traveling around?
  11. Great night for ya! Good job man.
  12. That would be a great day. Weather was nice and fish in the boat. Two things you usually don't hear in August.

    Introduction

Welcome jmax. Glad you're here. Lol. I didn't even know there were spoonbill in beaver. I always here of guys going into Ok to go snaggin. Good times for you and your wife.
  14. I guess some guys collect warts like other guys collect ammo. I've heard of guys with thousands and thousands of rounds of 22.
  15. Nice pics Dan. Do you think the rain and cooler temps are waking em up? I'm thinking the water temp has to start dropping some with the weather we're having.
  16. Went out with my wife for a few hours Sunday. From 9 till noon. Wind was kicked up and it was overcast. Water temp was 86. Started out shallow with spinnerbait and swimbait hoping the wind would have em movin around. No luck on some gravel flats. Fished around the island that you come to right out of prairie crk. Then we headed to escalupia and threw shakey heads for awhile. Caught one on a lay down and hooked another farther back on the crk by a dock. Figured we would have more success, but I was glad to get my wife for awhile.
  17. Sorry guys. This isn't right at all. This is a report from 2 wks ago.
  18. Launched from rocky branch by 730. I wanted to get there earlier, but didn't make it. I used the ramp back in the cove so when I was idling out I decided to hit the east bank because it was still shady. Tried a sexy dawg and a swimbait. Nothing. Worked out closer to the front and tried graphing some cover and marking it. This is fairly new to me. I've been with a guy and watched him do it once and seen some on you tube. Setting up the casting rings and positioning the boat was taking up more time than anything. I was throwing shakey head around the cover. The cover was rock mostly. Got a few nibbles. Tried around the island across from rb and a couple of pockets off the main lake. Shot back into rambo and tried the steep points at the back with the shakey head and throwing a crank in about 17-19. I got hooked up once and it got off at the boat. Little one. It was a pretty day and there were a ton of boats out, so it was a chore to stay on a spot. Water temp stayed around 84. I called it at 2. I didn't find em yesterday that's for sure. Just keep hammering right?
  19. Y'all have had a great run this year. Good job man!
  20. Man, nothing good could've come from a scene like that. I don't know where deer island is, but I know I'm seeing more and more land when I cruise up the river. On a lighter note, did u have any success on the water?
  21. Don't forget free lunch!
  22. Thank you for the info. I would like to try the drop shot one of these days.
  23. Nice job finding em Dan. 10 in an hour would be a great time. I've never tried drop shotting or the "video game" fishing. It would have to be pretty slick to watch a fish move in on your bait. Good times.
  24. It was a good day to be out. Before long, the skiers are gonna put it away for the year. That will b nice. I'm glad for them to be able to get out and enjoy the beautiful lake that we have, but I'm even more glad when I'm not getting thrown around by the chop. Thanks for the report!
  25. A great day for ya Lance. Awesome on the pb. I knew there were fish out there. They actively avoid me.
