Had to wait out a little lightning when I first got to the lake, but otherwise the weather was fine. I didn't mind the rain too much when the bite was this good. Caught a limit of crappie, 4 white bass and a walleye. All caught on brush piles. Pretty amazing day.

This is probably too late, but you can easily plug that yourself for about $5. Takes about 2 minutes. Plus, when you buy the plug kit you'll have about 3 more plugs for the next time this happens. Of course, you can only plug a tire if the hole is in the tread. If it's in the sidewall, you should just replace the tire.

Not only did he catch his first walleye, but he caught 2 to my 1 and both of his were bigger. An 18", 17" and 16.5". The epic carp battle was touch and go. For a while, I wasn't sure who was going to win. Great day on the water. The walleye quit very early, so we switch over to bass just to catch some fish.

Anyone know if the Crabtree ramp is open? Trying to get my 5 yo son his first walleye tomorrow. I can't seem to find a pattern that works for those toothy critters, but we're going to give it a try. I tried searching this forum, but couldn't find anything about the ramp. Thx!

The ramp is technically closed, but people still use it. I need a little bit more water to get my boat to float, so I don't use it. I don't want to run off the end of the ramp and be sitting on the axle. Fishing in the High Point area on Friday was great. All my big fish came on finesse worm, but the numbers came on crank baits. Not sure how much the cold front changed things. I will be going back this Friday. Good luck!

You might be right. It was rather football shaped. It just looked to much like a smallie and less like the spots I'm used to seeing...and this isn't the best picture. I should have taken more.

Bass were biting today, but the crappie weren't. Highlight of the day was catching an infamous mean mouth (see pic). Only the second I've ever caught

I have that exact same fillet knife. I also have an electric Rapala, but it can't hold a candle to that one.

LOL...actually, I meant 'fluke' as in a whim or dumb luck. But, I'll certainly take your advice. I'm willing to try anything.

I've made concerted effort to target walleye and never seem to have any luck. Seems like I can only catch them on a fluke. There's a pattern...we just have to figure it out. Unfortunately, the pattern changes all year long. Next time I go, I plan on trolling flats with crank baits. PS - The one I caught on the a-rig was a male.

Hard to have a bad day yesterday (2/19) with weather like that, but the fishing was good too. Caught this 18" walleye on an a-rig which is a first for me. Caught in 8' of water. I also caught a personal best for Stockton 19" bass. I was really surprised by how much bigger the 19-incher was compared to an 18-incher caught earlier. The mouth and gut were massive compared to the 18. I would have liked to have caught more fish (about 6 bass total), but I was happy with the quality. All fish caught on the a-rig.

First one to put in at Mutton today. Headed north and immediately found fish. Had 4 keepers in about 40 minutes. They were hitting anything and everything I threw. That A-rig wears your arm out. Ended up with 7 keepers on the day. Two were 18". Off the water by 2 pm. Tight lines!

Haven't been to the lake in a while. Has there been any change? Hoping to put in at High Point Thanks

Had a few days of vacation to burn, so I went out with my cousin for 3 days straight. Thursday was amazing. We boated somewhere north of 45 bass caught on everything and anything you wanted to throw. Only 6 keepers, but I swear the majority of fish stop growing at 14.5" (LOL). Friday was much tougher and rougher, but we still managed a lot of bites. The bass were suspended around docks. Saturday was beautiful and the bite was great until the sun got up. Still caught fish throughout the day, but tougher to find. Actually caught more smallmouth than largemouth on Saturday. Even managed a surprise walleye in 7' of water on a crank. My love of Stockton over the other lakes continues to grow.

I was afraid of that. Thanks guys.

Last time I was on Stockton, I couldn't put in at High Point and other ramps. Has the water level come back up at all? Is High Point accessible? Thanks

I just happened to notice that BassPro has Berkley Flicker shad on sale for $3.74.

Fished Little Sac. Went through about 4 dozen minnows. Had 22 crappie all over 11" and 1 keeper walleye. Unbelievable day with my 5 yo son. He had a blast. We also caught the largest drum I've ever seen, 4 enormous (too big to keep) channel cat and 1 turtle. Lots of action and good experience for him (and me). I was set about 3' deep all morning. Had an owl swoop down right by the boat and snatch a small bluegill that I injured...didn't know they fished. Switched over to trolling cranks, but kept catching crappie...no walleye. Called it a day before the rain hit at 1:30. I haven't had a day with this good of quantity and quality of crappie in many years (like 2 decades). Lots of high fives to go around with the boy.

Fished Stockton yesterday. Caught 10 keepers set 3' deep with minnows and slip bobbers. They were tight to timber. Switched and went deeper about mid-day. Caught a bonus 18" walleye and a few small crappie. Also caught several keeper bass on minnows too, but tossed them back. Largest crappie measured 13.5". Not a bucket full, but a decent day.
-
Fished this morning. Bass and crappie hadn't let up. Caught 10 keeper crappie in 2 hours then switched over to walleye whe the wind started to kick up
-
Thanks for the info, guys. I'm going to give it a go. Trying to drum up some walleye.

Contemplating going fishing tomorrow and just wondered how the lake was looking. How's the water clarity? I usually fish Lower Sac/High Point area. Thx
