It's not in the code book... go to the code book and backup your statement - It says it it right in the reg book once a limit of Trout is caught and kept you must stop fishing for all species.
-
I don't see anything different in the trout section that says anything different pertaining to possession and release.
-
(3) Limits and Possession. A Any species taken into actual possession, unless released unharmed immediately after being caught, shall continue to be included in the daily limit of the taker for the day when taken except as authorized in subsection (3)(E) of this rule. B A person may possess only the daily limit of any species while on the waters or banks thereof to which the limit applies. C Regardless of where taken, no fish less than the specified minimum length limit shall be possessed on the waters or banks thereof to which length limits apply. The head, tail and skin must remain attached to all fish for which length limits are established while those fish are on the waters to which length limits apply or until the fish have been checked by an agent of the department.

Quinton told me a person who has 4 trout in his possession can keep fishing. I made sure he understood the question. I've asked him on 3 different occasions and the answer is the same.

Sorry guys... we've covered this before. I talked to Toby last night and told him what the agents have told me. You can keep fishing if you have a limit of trout in your possession. Once you've caught and kept your 4th trout, you can't keep anymore even if you release one.

Appeal Hearing Set On Roaring River Cafo
Phil Lilley replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Roaring River State Park
Not sure you meant it this way- but it's not a "problem" that the waste is hauled off- that's a good thing, right? Just clarifying. -
Hopefully not tomorrow!!

And yes, Trav, I will list these someplace prominent on ozarkanglers. Great idea.
-
Terry- you outdid yourself.
-
LIAR'S POSE- When an angler holds the fish at arms length in front of the camera to distort the size of his catch. (you fill in the blank)- A guide, calling or labeling a trout in a pic 19 inches when it's obviously only 15.
-
PIROUETTE – The maneuver used when one slips on a rock in the middle of the stream. Usually followed by a loud splash and a trip to the truck to dry off and warm up. This usually happens in less than 30 inches of water and makes the angler look really stupid when he slips under the water.

St. Louis Cardinals' cash flow not as fluid as many thought By Rick Hummel http://preview.tinyurl.com/9qz3z6 ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH Wednesday, Jan. 07 2009 Not that the Cardinals have spent that much this offseason, but they might have less to spend than many have surmised. After a couple of minutes of calculations at his Busch Stadium desk Tuesday, Cardinals vice president and general manager John Mozeliak came up with a figure, probably conservative, that his team would owe at least $10 million more this season to its five arbitration-eligible players. Those players are outfielders Ryan Ludwick, Rick Ankiel and Chris Duncan and pitchers Todd Wellemeyer and Brad Thompson. Collectively, that fivesome made just more than $3 million in 2008, but as players with three years' big-league service, (nearly three in Duncan's case) you would be lucky to get any more than one or two of them for $3 million now. "Everybody talks about how much money we had come off (the books), but there's the realities of the arbitration cases," said Mozeliak, "and then there's players entering their second years of multiyear contracts, like your Wainwrights and your Molinas, that are going to see bumps as well." For instance, righthander Adam Wainwright will go from $500,000 to $2.6 million and catcher Yadier Molina from $1.75 million to $3.25 million as part of the escalation in their tiered multi-year deals. "So there isn't as much freedom as people felt we had with guys like (Mark) Mulder coming off the books," Mozeliak said. "There's definitely some internal increases (outfielder Skip Schumaker among others) that we're dealing with. All in, it's probably close to $20 million." Ludwick, coming off a 37-homer, 113-RBI season, made $411,000 and could get 10 times as much this time. Wellemeyer, who has five years' service and is one year from free agency, could go from $1 million to $4 million after a 13-9 season in his first season as a big-league starter. Given this backdrop then, is it possible, or even likely, that the Cardinals will trade an outfielder to get pitching that they need? Mozeliak ruled out nothing but also said that the Cardinals' opening day roster might include all of the aforementioned outfielders plus rookie Colby Rasmus and Joe Mather, who last year filled a utility role, a role that might be expanded to third base and perhaps even second base this spring. Mozeliak said a trade of an outfielder wouldn't be made because of payroll but rather the potential overload at the position, which encompasses minor-league prospects Jon Jay, Shane Robinson and Daryl Jones. But he added, "I do think there's a way that all these guys (the six at the big-league level) make it. There is a scenario." The Cardinals seem to have upgraded at shortstop with Khalil Greene and have three different lefthanders in their bullpen from the year before. But that basically has been the extent of the offseason wheeling and dealing, which, of course, leaves many fans in a tizzy although the season is 90 days away. Early in the offseason, Mozeliak spoke of being "aggressive" and also said the Cardinals would try to garner some "low-hanging fruit." "If I read the papers and if I go online to read the blogs, I'd probably be more aware of (the discontent)," said Mozeliak, who agreed that St. Louis fans hold the Cardinals to a high standard. "I can't ignore that, but that can't be the basis of the direction we go in. "I have to do what's best long-range and not make mistakes just to appease the headines tomorrow." That having been said, Mozeliak said he might use different terminology for public consumption from here on out. "When I said we were going to plan on being aggressive, I thought we were," Mozeliak said. "I'm not a wordsmith. Maybe I shouldn't use words like that." And low-hanging fruit? "I've been getting killed on that," said Mozeliak, smiling. "To me, that's defined as getting things done quickly — like getting (Jason) LaRue done and obviously (Kyle) Lohse. "I guess I just need to choose my words a little better — or talk less." Mozeliak said his pitching priority now probably would be starting pitching — which might not happen until he sees his club play this spring — rather than relieving because he believes in youngster Chris Perez as his potential closer, with Jason Motte coming fast. "I know it's not optimal the way Tony (manager Tony La Russa) looks at it," Mozeliak said. "But we went with a very young outfield last year that got the same type of scrutiny and questions that now our bullpen is getting. I'm using that as a barometer that it works. "We had the same type of faith in Ludwick and Ankiel and that group as we do with Perez and Motte and (Kyle) McClellan." rhummel@post-dispatch.com | 314-340-8196

January 04, 2009 09:45 pm http://www.joplinglobe.com/local/local_story_004214620.html — By Wally Kennedy wkennedy@joplinglobe.com An appeal hearing on the construction and operating permits for the Ozbun chicken concentrated animal feeding operation near Roaring River State Park will start at 9 a.m. Thursday, according to a spokeswoman for the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission. The two-day hearing will take place in Room 540 of the Truman Building in Jefferson City. The Ozbun CAFO houses up to 65,600 pullets for George’s Processing, a poultry plant near Cassville. It was granted an operating permit on Aug. 22, 2007, by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The CAFO is within a mile or so of the river and the state park, a popular tourist destination in Barry County. Local residents, supported by trout fishermen, environmentalists and tourism groups around the state, have formed the Roaring River Parks Alliance to oppose the CAFO and the possible construction of other CAFOs near the state park. Similar controversies have erupted regarding hog and chicken CAFOs near other state parks and historic sites, such as the Arrow Rock and Battle of Athens state historic sites. Opponents have argued that the CAFO at Roaring River will damage water quality in the spring and river, and be a drain on tourism. The opponents also have said they will attempt to show that the DNR circumvented the original construction permit by allowing changes after the fact. The changes were made, they allege, without the public having an opportunity to comment on them. Opponents also plan to cite the geology of the site, noting that there is a losing stream on the property that is an unnamed tributary to Roaring River. A losing stream is a water body that may lose and gain flow as water moves through the hydrologic system. It is not clear how a recent decision by Cole County Circuit Judge Patricia Joyce will affect the hearing. The judge’s ruling prohibits the construction of hog CAFOs within two miles of the Arrow Rock State Historic Site. Originally, the judge created a 15-mile buffer around the park, but she later decided to reduce that to two miles. State regulators say the waste-management system for the Ozbun CAFO has been designed and permitted as a no-discharge operation, which means wastes are contained and stored until proper land application can take place. Michelle and Rodney Ozbun, owners of the CAFO, have retained Michael Schmid, an associate in the firm of Schreimann, Rackers, Francka and Blunt in Jefferson City, to represent them. The Roaring River Parks Alliance will be represented by John Price, of Springfield. The DNR will be represented by an attorney associated with the Missouri attorney general’s office. Commission The Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission, part of the executive branch of state government, is a neutral, administrative tribunal that functions as a court-like or quasi-judicial entity to resolve conflicts involving permits and other contested issues in Missouri.

25-35 boats or teams. If you have over 8 pounds (8 trout), usually you're in the money.

Culling at these tournament has drawn some interesting discussion on this forum. Because trout tournaments are not covered by MDC's rules for culling, it is not lawful... but no one has been penalized for culling at any trout tournament on Taneycomo that I know of.
