  2. "If the bean smelled like something natural that would attract a strike, then yes, it'd be illegal. But it does not. It's a coffee bean." I'm quoting my own post... Didn't come out the way I wanted. Natural - fish smell like the codes states. Everything has a natural smell. Natural to attract fish is what it speaks to. PS- it took an hour to post this... too many phone calls and selling fishing lisc's. I'm not keeping up today. Good debate.
  3. Still don't buy it. Comparison to corn... corn doesn't smell. What smells is what you soak it in - what comes in the can or whatever you chose. The other is the size and how it's fished. It goes to intent. You're fishing a coffee bean on the surface to imitate a beetle. It's a lure, a fly. If the bean smelled like something natural that would attract a strike, then yes, it'd be illegal. But it does not. It's a coffee bean.
  4. Senator John Cornyn (R- TX) has blocked President Obama’s choice for a powerful regulatory position in the White House because of the nominee’s support for animal rights. He’s done his part, now sportsmen need to do theirs. Your support is needed to make sure the block, known technically as a “hold,” stays in place. Cass Sunstein, the president’s pick to head the powerful Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), has been an advocate for the animal rights movement and is an anti-hunter. As a part of the federal budget office, OIRA has extensive authority to block rules, including those that protect hunting and conservation. Sunstein claims that, “we might ban hunting altogether, at least if it’s sole purpose is human recreation.” He also supports allowing lawsuits on behalf of animals, a right currently only extended to human beings. That is why it is crucial that the block remains in place. Take Action! Sportsmen nationwide should contact their U.S. senators and ask them to support Sen. Cornyn’s hold on Sunstein. Let them know that you are deeply concerned by Sunstein’s radical statements about hunting and animal rights. Ask your Senator to join Senator Cornyn by blocking this appointment. 5. (A) Natural and scented baits—A natural fish food such as bait fish, crayfish, frogs permitted as bait, grubs, insects, larvae, worms, salmon eggs, cheese, corn, coffee beans and other food substances not containing any ingredient to stupefy, injure or kill fish. Does not include flies or artificial lures. Includes dough bait, putty or paste-type bait, any substance designed to attract fish by taste or smell and any fly, lure or bait containing or used with such substances. Oh... upon reading it a third time, I see I missed the mention of coffee beans... sorry! My bad!
  6. It's reading the code that way. Seen it before. So I don't think I see anything in the code that I would identify coffee beans under. Am I missing something?
  7. Yea- I can see it now. The judge would laugh MDC right out of the room. Coffee Bean illegal- natural bait?!?!? Come on. This one I have to take exception of. It is not soft. It does not hold a scent except for it's natural smell - coffee. With glue and head cement applied, the smell wouldn't even get through. I'm looking forward to trying it. Waiting for Brian to come over and make some- then go out and try. Will video our results!

  9. This is similar to the event we did a couple of years ago but extended to a weekend, not just a day.

  14. Live bait is allowed. It will be like the RAW or Boswell tournaments. We may shut off the trophy area... most people who fish these where bait is allowed don't go up there anyhow. No trailering of boats. No wading.
  15. I need to get out and try them. Brian- you need to come over and show me how to tie the bean. BTY- I asked MDC about the bean being legal in the trophy area... no response so I guess they're ok.
  16. I'll be catching up tomorrow as well... I haven't been in the loop for 3 weeks. Just now looked and saw they've been running water everyday. Babler said it was tough but then he had a good guide trip the other day. We'll try the usual Taneycomo things and see what happens.
  17. I'll have to check... I'm not making the rules. But I'd think so. Just a friendly tournament to raise some money. I've heard there's already quite a few regulars signed up.
  18. Actually, I'm at a loss. I've checked your skin setting and it's correct. It has to be something in your browser settings. You might download either Foxfire or Safari browsers and see if they work for you.

  20. I looked at your skin choice and it is the right one. What Dano said.... or asked....
  21. Exactly. My Chiro, who is a health nut, even thought about selling them to his patients.
  22. Sorry you're have a problem but it is on your end, not the forum format. Dano is on the right track...
  23. I take alot of people to Danna's. She has great food for the money and she does alot for the community.

  25. Ever heard of these? A friend told me about them in AK. Sounds like a pretty revolutionary idea. Tobacco biz should be scared. Gov't should be too... lots of taxes lost. Anyone try them?
