  1. What's the url for that site?
  2. My understanding of the whole situation is that the DNR or state leaves alot of the regulations up to individual counties to control farms and properties... kinda like the relationship between the federal and state gov't. If the county doesn't have the regs and teeth to enforce rules such as this situation, then DNR is powerless to except for what the state has mandated. That's my understanding of what my father-in-law told me. He is the outgoing omsbudsman for SW MO DNR and was at alot of the meetings.
  3. Very nice. Thanks Brian.
  4. So we're all now clear on the code for Taney- right?
  5. The reason I'm so emphatic about this is that I don't want to tell any of my clients or anyone fishing in any tournaments something that's wrong and will get them in trouble. That's why I've double and triple checked on this issue. Hopefully this will be put to bed shortly.
  6. Above highway 65 bridge, one MUST have a trout stamp to fish- period. Below, have to have it if you want to KEEP trout.
  7. Trout Parks- yes. It's in the code. You're in the "trout" parks to catch trout.
  8. Micheal- you said- In the past when I was working with the MDC and riding with agents they have written many tickets for this. So you saw Mike Abdon write tickets for this. Then why do you now say- It will be interesting to see what Mike says I still think he would write you a ticket maybe not. Now I'm confused.
  9. How in the world can an agent prove in court beyond a shadow of a doubt that a person fishing on the Lake Taneycomo is fishing specifically for trout? Think about it. Even fishing below the dam. There have been dozens of guys fishing for walleye and bass in the last 10 months. Tell me you think one of those guys, catching and keeping 4- 10 inch rainbows, would have to stop throwing his rogue. Another for instance- fishing on the lower lake, you're throwing a jig and catching trout and crappie and a few bass. You keep 4 rainbows and you have a few crappie and bass but want to keep a few more crappie for the freezer. Does he have to stop? Heck- it you're on Table Rock and catch and keep 4 rainbows, do you have to stop bass fishing? And yes rainbows are caught on the main lake on TR every winter and spring. On the Current or Elevenpoint- same thing. Keep 4 rainbows and have to stop fishing? If you keep 6 bass anyplace in Missouri, do you have to stop fishing? What is the difference!!???!!??
  10. "I started to weigh in on this earlier, but didn't since I wasn't sure about it. Phil, I think with your earlier statement that "Quinton told me a person who has 4 trout in his possession can keep fishing.", you actually meant to say you cannot keep fishing." I did not make a mistake. MK is right- it pertains to the trout parks only. "A person may fish on Taneycomo lake after keeping four trout." An MDC agent just emailed me this statement. I'll email Mike Abdon and forward him this topic url. He may want to weigh in since his name has been brought up.
  11. It's not in the code book... go to the code book and backup your statement - It says it it right in the reg book once a limit of Trout is caught and kept you must stop fishing for all species.
  12. I don't see anything different in the trout section that says anything different pertaining to possession and release.
  13. (3) Limits and Possession. A Any species taken into actual possession, unless released unharmed immediately after being caught, shall continue to be included in the daily limit of the taker for the day when taken except as authorized in subsection (3)(E) of this rule. B A person may possess only the daily limit of any species while on the waters or banks thereof to which the limit applies. C Regardless of where taken, no fish less than the specified minimum length limit shall be possessed on the waters or banks thereof to which length limits apply. The head, tail and skin must remain attached to all fish for which length limits are established while those fish are on the waters to which length limits apply or until the fish have been checked by an agent of the department.
  14. Quinton told me a person who has 4 trout in his possession can keep fishing. I made sure he understood the question. I've asked him on 3 different occasions and the answer is the same.
  15. First time I've seen your site. I added it to our links section under fishy organizations. Thanks for posting results. Looks like T Pierce did well. 1st - T Pierce and Caldwell at 30 - 2 2nd - Dial and S Pierce at 14 - 7 3rd - Bell and Mauzey at 12 - 3 Big Bass T Pierce with 5 - 6 Heavy stringer - T Pierce with 19 - 5
  16. Sorry guys... we've covered this before. I talked to Toby last night and told him what the agents have told me. You can keep fishing if you have a limit of trout in your possession. Once you've caught and kept your 4th trout, you can't keep anymore even if you release one.
  17. You haven't seen any deer yet? Saw 2 does and a buck at 4:30 pm yesterday.
  18. Not sure you meant it this way- but it's not a "problem" that the waste is hauled off- that's a good thing, right? Just clarifying.
  19. Hopefully not tomorrow!!
  20. And yes, Trav, I will list these someplace prominent on ozarkanglers. Great idea.
  21. Terry- you outdid yourself.
  22. LIAR'S POSE- When an angler holds the fish at arms length in front of the camera to distort the size of his catch. (you fill in the blank)- A guide, calling or labeling a trout in a pic 19 inches when it's obviously only 15.
  23. PIROUETTE – The maneuver used when one slips on a rock in the middle of the stream. Usually followed by a loud splash and a trip to the truck to dry off and warm up. This usually happens in less than 30 inches of water and makes the angler look really stupid when he slips under the water.
  24. So that's where they were...
  25. Jump on it, Terry.
