  1. LMW - We've bumped up to 1430 visitors and almost 16,000 pages per day now. I think it will go higher as spring nears.
  2. I'm heading to Cricket to make my annual swimming minnow order this week. I may take the boat and see if I can find a few slabs for supper. White with green flake... don't think I've heard of that one.
  3. Oh boy... more rivers and creeks I need to fish. The list seems endless. Danny- pleased you're here. You'll have to educate us on your territory. Welcome.
  4. Wow... made me quiver just to read that. I would never think about editing someone's post of it's content... I'm tempted to edit the spelling in some and have suggested to some to put 'http://' at the beginning of url's to make them active links instead of 'www' cause that doesn't do anything. I've fixed pictures at times or links without asking (please forgive me). My wife says I'm reverting to my "monk age"... being picky. I don't want to jump to judge especially since John is out of the country... I would think John will have some things to way about it when he returns because it goes to the credibility to his site as to changing the content of someone's post. And creditability is a major component to any publication or internet site.
  5. Upper Taneycomo.
  6. I sent an email to JE and will comment on this here. As explained in the description of this forum, myself, Tom and Chuck are the only people that can respond to topics/prayer requests here. It's not to say you can't send someone an email or personal message in response to their post... please feel free. This forum is a special place and I don't want a spammer responding to a sensitive subject like an illness. Thanks.
  7. http://lilleyslanding.com Our rates are under the link "rooms".
  8. My dock will not be busy- come by and fish!
  9. I was going to mention it- just noticed I can see rocks on the banks I haven't seen in a while. I hate to guest but if I did I'd say this is a pattern we will see thru the weekend. Less generation today thru Sunday- my guess. Fishing should be very good- cloud cover and alittle precipitation.
  10. For the record... I wouldn't change a thing, especially Terry Beeson and MrsDucky. When I said "more" I meant additional, add-to... more and more. Not to stop one thing and start another. Emails- written word- can be misconstrued at times... hopefully I've made myself clear.
  11. You gotta see these flies... http://flytyingforum.com/?act=special&...ntest_votefinal Pretty impressive stuff. And we're supposed to voted on one!??!?
  12. There are all kinds of people on the forum- those who read, those who read and write... some like the bantering and some don't... some skip over it, ignore it... and then there are some that won't come back because they REALLY don't like it. "This is a fishing forum, not a funny farm!" Well, I am not going to put controls on the forum or suggesting what people write as long as they obey the rules. Not saying you're suggesting that but I appreciate your comments. I think everyone would like to see more constructive conversation... more fishing experiences and ideas... and a whole lot more reports!! Come on spring! But if you listen to Bill Babler, you should be fishing right now!
  13. Care to share how you caught your fish? The boat sticking up out of the water is alittle un nerving... I wonder if the accident had been reported? If it was, the boat would have been removed, at least by MWP. Thanks!
  14. Well- need to know a few details... Boat or Wade? That's the main question. There are some articles that cover both on this site. We can probably add some to it.
  15. Have a great day guys!!
  16. The guys I've talked to have found crappie on the mud flats in 10 to 18 feet of water close to the bottom and using swimming minnows. One guy said he was catching them on flesh colored sm's with a yellow jig head- said they wouldn't hit it unless it was yellow. Wierd. That was up Long Creek.
  17. Lower lake near the dam. Towards Long Creek Bridge.
  18. I'd like to delete the blue skin but it might short-circut the whole board... I hold my breath everytime I change something in the skins. I'm no programmer. Anyone else? It's easy for me to change your skin if you let me know. Once I change it, I think you can change it to whatever you want- just don't go back to the blue or you'll be stuck again.
  19. I thought it was a respectful show of people... at least compared to previous meetings. We had about 25 there. Dan and his wife, Steve Smith, Leonard and DD. Mike Kruse did his presentation on their plan for Missouri's trout program. It was interesting. I'm going to try to get the outline and post it on OA. After Mike was done, Phil Surratt, the president of the chapter, talked to the group about where the chapter was going to go from here. Long story short is they elected a president (sorry but I didn't know him and didn't get a name but he's from Forsyth), a vice pres which is our very own Duckydoty and Carolyn from River Run was picked as Sec/Treasurer. There were about 10 who stayed afterward and expressed interest in being on the board, myself, Dan and Leonard were present. We're meeting in 2 weeks to discuss a plan of action.
  20. Now that you mentioned it, I've had the same thing happen. Sorry- this one is probably out of my admin range.
  21. In doing alittle editing to the skins, I accidentally changed the default skin. I didn't notice cause I use this one by choice. Sorry about that- purely unintentional. If you don't like it, you can change you skins- there's a pull down bar at the bottom left of the page. Flysmallie said something that concerns me- he said he was stuck on the old blue default skin. I checked and everything is in order on his profile- default skin. Is there anyone else on the blue skin? I do need to dress up the other skins- logo and extra stuff. Takes time and I haven't made time for it- sorry.

  23. Minnows. They've been catching alot of trout, esp browns.
  24. I ran a Landau 18' semi-v with a 90 hp Monday- with the water they've been running, no problem. But you do have to watch where you're going. There are shallow areas and they can drop the levels quickly.
  25. http://hipwader.com/2006/gr-pike-fishing-fly-pattern Rob O'Reilly, owner of http://hipwader.com, sent me this link, thinking I'd be interested. I am! How many times have you been on a river or lake and seen gar cruising, sitting or sipping the surface and think nothing about fishing for them? I haven't really but have hooked them by accident- they are a hoot to land! So why not target them! Would be something different- and who knows, you might enjoy it.
