  1. I hope they had trouble making bail.
  2. Per watching the webcam, it looked like a light crowd and the water looked like it had a lot of color. Any "first person" reports? Thanks, Steve
  3. Maybe someone from the staff will swing by Harbor Freight on the way home tonight and pick up a new camera and install it at 5 A.M. tomorrow. Or,,,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe not. Lame. That being said, I love the park, I know it's been a difficult year, but give me a break.
  4. Sold. Fortunately the boat is running fine.......................but it's bad luck to make those kind of statements. Thanks for looking.
  5. I have a really nice pop up that we need to sell. Everything works and the A/C blows cold. I have replaced all the primary components of the lift system. The awning is three years old and the springs were replaced last year. If you have any questions, please email me. We are asking $2700.00 snkrohn@prodigy.net

  7. If I start paddle wheelin', I'll be flippin' kernels of corn all over the stream. Kinda like a chum line................................just kidding.
  8. We were down a couple of weeks ago and the floating globs of green slime/algae were so bad that it had to be picked off the fly at least every other cast. If you stopped to change flies, a half pound would accumulate on your line. This isn't the sub-surface grass that they "mow" but similar to what you encounter in a farm pond. I can only assume that it is bad this year due to the low water levels that have existed all season. My plea is that if you do go to Bennett, please give a slime report. I love fishing Bennett but the stuff was such a nuisance that I don't think I will go back down until conditions improve. Thanks, Steve
  9. Sold, thanks

  12. Will be down in the Shell Knob area over the weekend and would like to catch some white bass. Anyone seen any activity in the area? Any reports would be appreciated. Thanks.
  13. We haven’t been to Fish & Fun since they changed ownership a few years ago, but prior to that, we stayed there many times over a twenty year period. Amenity-wise , it’s typical “Ozark” in that the cabins are old but acceptable if your expectations aren’t overly high. They have a decent boat dock and a ramp on the property which was high on my list. Access is good. As I remember, it’s only about 5-10 minutes off Highway 39 to get to the resort. Also an easy drive to RR. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  14. Thank you. I'll do a little checking around.
  15. WHOA! Now there's a thought. Have any idea who makes them?
  16. Hey, it was tuff enough justifying to my fishing wife that we needed to drop eight hundred bucks at Cabela’s to upgrade from B/W X17-GPS to a color X27-GPS. Trying to convince her that the TM needs to be replaced while the prop still goes round and round may be a bit much. Maybe next year. Till then, I’m gonna crash into every stump I see.
  17. My guess is that I’ll probably end up just running the bow unit off a transom mounted transducer. I can’t picture that flopping wire lasting too long and, besides, it would look pretty tacky. I hate to be fishing eighteen feet in front of the signal but I don’t know if I have much choice. Maybe I’ll stick the nose of my boat outside the garage tonight and maybe someone will steal my trolling motor. Let me know if someone wants my address……………I’ll leave a light on and all the necessary tools.
  18. I have mounted and used the puck-type transducers before. My problem is that the Power Drive Minnkota does not use a conventional scissor-type mount (see enclosed link). When the TM is deployed, the shaft slides thru the bracket so the wire from the puck couldn’t be zip tied to the shaft. This is my first experience with this style of TM and so far I’m not overly impressed. http://www.minnkotamotors.com/products/mot...asp?pg=fbm_pdv2
  19. Thanks for the responses. Don, are you running your bow unit off a transom mounted transducer or one attached to the trolling motor? My problem is that I have a Minnkota Power Drive and I cannot picture how a conventional trolling motor-type transducer could possibly work. I can run the bow unit off a transom mounted transducer but I kind off hate to give up that eighteen feet between the bow and the stern.
  20. This may not necessarily be the correct forum to pose this question, but I am curious if anyone feels that they get less than top performance from the Minnkota trolling motors with the built in transducers. The X135 that I have mounted on the bow of my boat does not seem to perform as well as my dash unit. I was just wondering if anyone else felt like they were getting less than top performance with the Minnkota transducer. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
  21. We are going to be in the Baxter area over the weekend. Anyone have a current report from this area? We were down mid-summer and caught quite a few fish drop shotting the points. Just wondered if this technique would still produce fish at this time of the year. Thanks
  22. Thank you very much. Have any idea where the guide got the bait? Did he net them? You were down there about a month after we plan to go so I don't know how that might effect where the fish are or at least how you would fish for them. Wouldn't mind getting into a bunch of white though. Thanks again, Steve
  23. We are considering a trip to Beaver in mid-September to try to catch a striper. Is this a good time of the year to go? Where are the fish at this time of year? Is one part of the lake better than another? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks
  24. Thank you Rich. I think I now have all the info I need.
  25. Thank you very much. I think even I can tie that fly.
