  1. Enjoying all the input, as usual. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the advice so far.
  3. Are there any local banks that will do boat financing over a 10 year term?
  4. I fished from 8 to 1030 around Cedar Ridge. Water was high from the rain Sunday night and covering the dock when I put it. Caught few Crappie and white bass. Nothing special, enjoyed a few hours.
  5. Put in around 4:30 fished till dark. Water was obviously up, areas that were 10' last week were 14' this week. Water was 64 degrees and very stained, with lots of debris in the water. Caught 20 Crappie, all but 2 were short. Most were caught on minnows in 2-3' of water. Had pretty good luck with those pink minnows they sold me at Baitmasters. *The two females I took home still had eggs.
  6. The way I understand it, they require and actual appraisal from a dealer.
  7. I've never had them swallow it ether. I don't really keep any slack in the line. I feel everything that jig hits on the bottom, including that subtle bite.
  8. LOL I got it tagged at the license office in Greenfield. It's a pain, I've got no issue paying taxes, but think it's stupid to get two appraisals for a 35 year old trailer.
  9. It's complicated... it was gifted to me. Per DOR an item cannot be "gifted" twice in a row. I didn't realize when my grandfather gave me the boat that he had gifted the trailer to his trust. I applied for title paid all the fees and never got a new title. That's when I called the license office they told me it had already been gifted once. They said I would have to get two written appraisals and would have to pay taxes on the average estimate...
  10. Long story short I need to get two appraisals on the value of my boat trailer so I can pay taxes on it and DOR will issue me the title. Are there any boat dealerships or dealers in the Stockton or Stockton lake area that would do an appraisal like this?
  11. Thanks for the video Dollar Bill. As a guy trying to figure out fishing I appreciate all the info. Looks like I'm buying an A-Rig.
  12. Results?
  13. I put in at the campground. However, they didn't have the sign up saying the other ramp was closed, at least at the main road.
  14. Put in at Cedar Ridge around 10 and fished until 1:30. Water was LOW at the ramp. Water temp was 43 when I started and hit a couple 48 degree areas in the afternoon. Fishing was slow for me, but was eventually able to get 8 shorts all in the same spot. All were caught on Ned Rig in PB&J. Fish I caught were in 8-12 feet of water on chunk gravel bank. They may have been little, but it beat a day at work. Came home after fishing and tilled the garden to plant some taters.
  15. I like Cedar Ridge or Ruark Bluff.
  16. Another thought... Last time I drove it I hit a tree top hard enough to jerk the motor up out of the water. Anyone think that could have caused a crack to both sides of the lower unit?
  17. I hope to have it to my mechanic this week. I will give you a call if I need one. Thanks!
  18. Thank you for that info. I got the lower unit pulled today. I showed the pic to my mechanic and he mentioned it was in an odd spot too...
  19. Thanks!
  20. Pretty bummed when I found my lower unit had water in it and cracked in the low temps. It has cracks on both sides and pic shows the worst one. This was especially frustrating after I had the seals replaced in the lower unit this spring. Would I be better off finding another lower unit or trying to find another motor? My motor is a 1986 Johnson VRO 60 HP and seems to run strong. Thanks in advance!
  21. Curious about the turnout and results? I couldn't talk myself into braving the cold.
  22. Good to know... I went this morning with my 3 year old boy for a few hours. I always go to Cedar Ridge. For some reason today I went to State Park, glad I did now. I did notice the water at the Cedar Ridge ramp was real low on Friday night.
  23. Got to Cedar Ridge tonight at about 8 and fished a couple hours. Caught what I thought was a couple good fish for a newbie to bass fishing. Caught them in 5-10' of water on a 6" bubble gum worm.
  24. 1982 Charger with a 60hp 1986 Johnson. Not the prettiest, but thankful for the gift from my grandpa.
  25. That was a pretty nice rod you won Skeeter and the price was definitely right!
