  1. I love Simpson. Its definitely a challenge but the location is so close to me that I just cant pass it up. I have a coleman crawdad and a 10 foot sit on top that I love to take over there. I've figured out over the past couple years that summer months a wacky or t-rigged senko, or a t-rigged trick worm thrown at brush piles (particularly around the spillway) can be pretty consistent. When things really get slow I put a little popper fly on a 3 weight fly rod. Bluegill go nuts for it and every once in a while a dink bass will hit it and give you a ride. In the fall I usually put away the jon boat and take the kayak up the glaze creek. The bass up there seem to like chasing small moving baits that time of year. I've hit plenty of other ponds in the area. I work down at the brewery, and occasionally during lunch I'll run over to Carondelet (not the trout lake, other one...). I've had a fair amount of success there. My neighborhood pond can be fun. I've pulled out plenty of 2+ pounders and I hooked into what must have been a giant some time this past fall. It immediately started pulling drag and broke me off. I'm still chasing that elusive fish... I randomly pulled a 5 lb'er out of the lake at New Ballwin park. That was pretty surprising. One of the absolutely best day's I've had though is the lake out by the Chesterfield Central Park. Its bank fishing only, but when I've been out there the fishing's been great.
