  1. 😆 Funny you mention it - we had 25 mph winds that day, with gusts up to 40. I'd been fighting the wind for 2 hours - guess my hair showed it!
  2. This sounds quite nice!
  3. It's possible to buy the spores of shrooms online, and I've heard there are tutorials for culturing them. The spores themselves contain no psilocin, so they are legal to sell and possess. They are generally marketed for "microscopic use" only.
  4. Old report, (month ish) but worth mentioning. Went out to Crystal lake, Garnett. Small lake with oddly large bass and the occasional monster crappie. The lake is thick with mosquito fish and other minnows, so lots of forage. It also gets winter and spring trout stocked. Set out the power powerbait like you're supposed to. 2 hours and nada. With 10 minutes left till I had to leave, figured might as well try for a crappie or two. Found a spot along the dam with access, tied a swimming minnow in purple/white, and instantly caught a real big trout. 3 lbs(ish), full fins, pink meat, so not a recent stock. Caught another stocker 4 casts later, and was then forced to leave. Good little lake, not much pressure. The north lake in Garnett is also good I've been told.
  5. Thank goodness you have a competent doctor who is up to date on his literature!!
  6. Mmmhmm! I've not done DMT, but have a decent amount of "knowledge" in something similar 😀. Psychedelics are like Marijuana - they're just now transitioning from "demon drug" to "clinically essential".
  7. We're about 2 miles down road - they epitomize "find a thing you're good at, and do it really really well"!
  8. We work in the dimensions of space, and travel along a 4th (time). The same physicists who agree on that generally agree on up to 10 dimensions of reality. Traditional science uses our sense perception, and therefore the science which we have grown to organize our lives around doesn't account for things outside of our "natural" (3D) world. I'm therefore unwilling to criticize religious persuasion - who am I to speculate on the 5th, 6th, or 9th dimensions? Can faith not be a vehicle of access? Oneshot - did you get the vaccine after getting COVID? The docs referenced above anecdotally and (limited) reference empirical data that this may be harmful.
  9. Lots to address - first, it's probably useful to acknowledge that any side has reasons to believe what they do. I've worked for two different Pharma companies (one, Actavis, is one of the largest generic companies in the world), and I can sing the praises and lament the vices of large drug companies. I also am be hesitant to fault folks like Fauci or McCullough. No doubt though there were policies and decisions which were detrimental. Here is a bulletin from 2017 about the resuming of NIH funding for gain- of-function research, specifically in influenza , SARS and MERS (coronaviruses). It was paused in 2014 after an errant influenza in ferrets scared (rightly so) researchers globally. https://www.nih.gov/about-nih/who-we-are/nih-director/statements/nih-lifts-funding-pause-gain-function-research (Square it with Fauci's testimony before the senate if you're able ) I did watch the JR with Malone. Looking at his "I invented mRNA vaccines" claim, he's partially correct. Even those antagonistic to him agree he deserves enormous credit for using RNA delivered on lipid, and foreseeing the potential for vaccines. Almost never is a monumental scientific achievement a solo effort. Maybe Mendel the monk would qualify. His "I did ...." is extremely off-putting and makes me think that he would be a PITA to work with. Brilliant mind, perhaps. Contrast his demeanor with McCullough, who was much more humble (though perhaps even more accomplished). Poor taste aside, he makes valid points. A side note - ibuprofen works on a different pathway than Tylenol. For strict pain relief, Tylenol is great. For inflammation based pain, ibuprofen will be more helpful. As suggested above, this is a time for ibuprofen.
  10. Agreed - makes the most sense.
  11. I've read a few articles from Malone - I hadn't heard that the vaccine lowers the T-cell population though. There is I suppose a chance that a IV exposure to a respiratory pathogen could tailor the immune response to predominantly a B-cell/antibody response? I'll have do watch the episode - I didn't know JR did one with Malone. I have watched the Peter McCullough podcast - really eye-opening.
  12. A person could make a pretty good case for it. In my mind, mild and rapidly spreading variants might be the best of all worlds at this stage. That, coupled with seasonal vaccines for high risk patients and availability of early treatment in the event of more virulent strains might be our best path forward. We will not eradicate it.
  13. I did some work in molecular genetics and the immune response, and teach University microbiology. From what I've been able to piece together, the vaccines are more tailored to the Delta variant than the Omicron variant. Currently, most cases severe enough to require hospitalization are still Delta, which goes against what the computer modeling suggested since the infectivity of Omicron is higher. Since the monoclonal antibodies are also more specific to Delta, and the advanced models were overzealous in their predictions of the prevalence of Omicron, monoclonal antibodies are harder to come by because it was not thought they would be as useful. Now we are seeing people vaccinated who are able to resist Alpha and Delta well, but who are experiencing breakthrough cases of Omicron. The silver lining is that Omicron (while still making you feel lousy) appears to be more of an upper respiratory and throat infection, and cases are less severe than Delta. The complexity of this pandemic is beyond anything I've seen in case studies of past epidemics/pandemics, and the confounding variables of individual and group responses coupled with the varying reliability of data and the fast moving pace make it very tricky to nail down with certainty what medical professionals and public health organizations are doing "right" or "wrong". This is just a very difficult situation, and some good grace towards our neighbors goes a long way. Hoping for a speedy recovery! Treat the symptoms and take heart that your immune system will likely now have robust memory to multiple circulating variants of the virus. Easy to say from the comfort of my keyboard I know.
  14. A couple of walleye from 2021
  15. Hadn't been on in a year, so we'll start with a new user-name - formerly Fly_Guy. From Hillsdale - 23.5 inches Below dam at night, throwing tandem purple swimming minnows. Didn't do much fishing this year.
